She’s never had an orgasm and I’ve never failed a mission.

I spent 12 years going through hell as a major in the marines.
But hell itself wasn't enough to make me forget Abby Greenwood.
I left her without a word one night 12 years ago.
But I had a good reason...
I also swore to myself that I would never set foot in this town again.
Yet here I am... and there she is.
With her perfect body and alluring eyes, begging me to take her.
I never got to taste her before I left.
But now I've got a second chance.
And this is one mission I can't fail...

I’m the only one who can give her what she needs,
even if it takes me all night...

Spoilers

I'm not usually one to leave bad reviews, if I don't like a book, I just move on. But this book seriously pissed me off. The Hero is an a**hole. Just because he was a Marine, doesn't make him a good person. I understand he had a hard past, but that doesn't excuse his behavior. There's nothing wrong with a manwhore, in fact, most stories revolve around a reformed manwhore. But this guy checks out a woman, finds out it's his first love's sister, gets grossed out by his thoughts, and yet still has to force his eyes not to stray below her face. If that isn't bad enough, he finds out his first love is in town again, physically crosses paths with her, and goes to f*ck a girl he had his eye on since high school. Then f*cks his first love the NEXT DAY. Suddenly he's a changed man, but still checks out the waitress's ass, of course. The heroine isn't too great herself. For all the pain she was put through, and knowing he just f*cked a girl she hates, she rolls over for him pretty quickly. He ends up saving the day, but I just can't find him redeemable. I haven't read the other stories included, but if they're anything like Major O, I will be sadly disappointed and left feeling betrayed and downright pissed.

Headline: 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶Exquisitly Delicious, Hotter than Chili...🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
Review: R.R. Banks delivers as usually, an deliberately ambiguous exquisitly delicious book. It's not just a erotic book with well tuned captivating interaction, or just a romance book with emotions conveyed straight into your heart. It's not just a thrilling read with events that makes you book "locked" an unable to put it down, Or just a book with characters that are vivid and makes you feel like you can connect with them. It's all of that, and so much more. Anyone who has read any of R.R. Banks books knows that this Author is extremly skilled in all of those areas, and that name (the Authors) on a book is a guarantee for a exceptional read. In this book emotions that most of us can relate to are displayed with a exceptional brilliance making this into something more than a "hotter than chili" read. This book should almost have a warning label (said with a wink and a smile); It tempts you, pulls you in, make you forget time, place and space, totally mesmerizes you. From a personal point of view on that note I might add that it made me forget everything, even being on the second floor and having to use the stairs to get to ground level (shouldn't have walked around reading). THAT'S how mesmerized I was.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Caleb has spent twelve years living the worst there is as a major in the Marines. Heven has never failed a mission and he's not abut to start now. Caleb has never forgotten Abby Greenwood and promised he would never set foot in their town again. Yet, he finds himself there and right in front of Abby. This is their second chance and Caleb is determined to deliver Abby her first O and get his first taste of her.

To say that Caleb had a great childhood is a oie, He was abused and his family was look down upon trash in their town. His bright spot was Abby but he wasn't good enough for her and her father had no problem letting him know this either. Ugh this made me so mad. No one should ever judge anyone though I know it happens all the time. This caused Caleb to leave his hight school sweetheart for the Marines and devastating Abby. Fast forward 12 years and some major life events and Abby is back in her hometown and so is Caleb. I wanted this second chance for them so badly becsue they both needed each other of some major closure and I want sure which way it would go. You too will have to read and find out but I really loved every seond of this book.

This was my first R.R. Banks novel and I was so impressed I can't wait to see what she writes next.

I enjoyed this story because it made you think and made you feel. I must admit that I had to work to like Caleb. While he may be gorgeous and a stud, he treated Abby crappy, before and when they meet up again. The author does an amazing job of developing these characters and making sure you stay present throughout the story, not just coast through to a HEA. True life? Not everything is rainbows. You become involved as you are immersed in their lives. A very satisfying read of finding your true self, realizing the love you have within you for yourself and others and the courage to embrace both. (And, of course, don't forget the steamy hot scenes!)

I received and ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review

3.5 stars = I'm on the fence with this one: some parts I liked and some parts were just okay.
This is my first book from this author so I'm not sure if this the normal for an R.R. story but I was really surprised that in this day and age that not one condom was used throughout any of the sex scenes... and there were many! Caleb is a manwhore and never once used a condom with his one-timers; Abby didn't either with James. The biggest thing that irked me was the fact that Abby forgave Caleb so quickly for leaving her 12 years ago without a word and then she sleeps with him the first chance she gets and again they never use a condom and she doesn't even ask him about being clean! She knows he's been a manwhore and that he slept with an old classmate the night before she did!

Mr. Bad Naaasssty🐺🍌🌋 Finds His Groove

Yeah, he's a manwhore🐺🔥🍌🌋....This book spends a lot of pages proving that fact!
Caleb is ex- marine, a full twelve years of hard sniper🔫 duty. Now he's a free lancer PI, mainly following cheating🍌🌋 spouses to get the dirty deeds on film for his clients. Caleb is no 👼angel, his favorite pastime is a one 🌙night, hot naaasssty sexcapade🐺🍌🌋 with a nameless young woman. With His tall, ripped, body and good looks, he's a chick💃💋 magnet deluxe.
Abby💋💔 is someone he used to know, loved💕, and he left her. Ghosted her for the marines 💔.
In the intervening years, while he was being a big bad marine, Abby went to NYC, thought it was great for a while, then hated it. She went back to Sheridan Falls, WA. She found an anal retentive, regimented husband, James, and thought, " Is that all there is to life? "
Dumping the husband, FINALLY! While enjoying the carefully doled out intimacy with James, she was never able to achieve an O. James won't give her up easily.

Caleb🐺🍌🌋 goes back to Sheridan after twelve years for the funeral of his lifelong friend Rick, he's to be a pall bearer.
People he used to know come out of the woodwork. He feels like leaving before the funeral, the old memories are tearing him up.
When he sees Abby💋💔 on the street, arguing with her Ex, James, it all comes to a head......
Caleb🐺🍌🌋🔥 is really a deeply conflicted man, he hides it well behind the party boy facade. He wants🔥, but he can't quite touch it from where his mind is. Is there a second chance?
But yer spurs on, little gal, the big bad bronc🐎🍌🌋 is coming for you!
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍌, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎

I got a free code from either the author or narrator for this.

Narration: I enjoyed his voice and for the male POV he was good, however for the female POV, unless the character was talking the narrator did not pitch his voice differently, so there were several times were I had to back up and check who's POV I was listing to. It made it so you really had to focus hard on who was who and who's head you were in.

As for the story. I think my biggest issue with this was, this was a romance and while yes it was a second chance, therefore Caleb and Abby knew each other before. But this had a 5 1/2 hr read time and over half of the story Caleb and Abby dont even come across each other. and then when they finally do it is another hr or so before they even really talk. When they finally do meet up they jump each others bones so fast your head spins.

I did notice several reviews harping on Abby about her being married, but she had not been for a bit and the Jack/James she was dating, was just a BF not her husband. And WTF James that escalated quickly.

The other thing I saw with reviews that seamed a bit harsh was Caleb and his manwhorish ways. Yes that was established but when he took that girl from his home town home he had not even see Abby yet and I really can't fault him on that one like every one else did. If he had actually talked to Abby before hand, then maybe.

But over all I just could not get into this story or characters and never felt the romance between the two.

Caleb and Abby were high school sweethearts.Caleb's family were seen as white trash and his parents abused him. After graduation Abby's father told him he should leave Abby alone because he wasn't god for her. Caleb agreed and snuck off to join the marines without a word to Abby. Abby was devastated and even thought about committing suicide but finally tried to move on. She moved to the city got a degree as a marriage counselor and got married.
It is now 12 years since Caleb left. Abby had divorced her husband after catching him cheating on her and moved back to her hometown. She is having problems with relationships and no man has given her an O. She is starting to wonder if her experience with Caleb is still messing her up emotionally. Then an old friend of Caleb dies and Caleb returns for the funeral. Will Abby be able to get closure?
Caleb spent 10 years in the marines but got when it became too much. Now he works as a PI and bounty hunter. He never wanted to return to his hometown but then he hears his best friend died. Now he returns back and tries to cope with his past. He never stopped loving Abby but he heard she was in the city and happily married. When he is told differently by her little sister, he is shocked. How is he going to handle seeing Abby again.
This is a good book about second chances. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

Sexy second-chance romance with a dash of action in more ways than one...

I received an Advance Reader Copy for Major O written by RR Banks and voluntarily reviewed this book. Caleb Tirico has to go back to his hometown, Sheridan Falls to attend his good friend's funeral. He hadn't looked back for the last 12 years, having left behind the one thing he loved of all his miserable, self-proclaimed white-trash life - Abby Greenwood. They had never been intimate, but she had his heart, and she was better off than being with him, in his opinion.

Abby never got over Caleb leaving her cold all those years ago. In fact, she went into the marriage counseling to help others deal with the fallout of failed relationships. She herself had one under her belt, which was why she left her successful practice in the big city back to her roots. She never expected to see Caleb again or to have all her questions rise up and scream to get out when she sees him again for the first time...and on the arms of an old high school classmate!

Now ex-Marine/special forces turned PI, Caleb was living the life he wished for, except that seeing Abby once again brought back everything about her, and he knew he had a lot to make up for; at the very least, explain why he left town, and therefore her in the process as well. There was another man, though, in her life, and it looks like he will have to do more than just apologize...

From the very first page, I was spellbound by these fantastically described characters that you will find yourself falling in love with. Major O, the bad boy military alpha, is one that you NEED to read. This was a beautiful love story of second chances that was so well done; it held my attention and was entertaining, but also was heartwarming and emotional. The book maybe fiction, but the storyline can be related to true-life situations and you will want to keep reading to find out what happened. When reading the story, it may make you feel sad, confused, appalled, and even euphoric. What moves me is just how R.R. Banks was able to make the characters’ situations seem credible and realistic—their hurts, ambivalence, etc. This is the story of Abby and Caleb, who were high school sweethearts, who get to have a second chance after Caleb was away in the service for 12 years. Read how their lives have changed and after seeing each other for the first time in so many years—what happens next!!! There are several twists and turns within the story that makes it interesting. The story will also pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.

I really enjoyed this book for a few simple reasons:
it was well written.
It flowed and grew.
The H and h were well rounded, believeable in their actions and fears. Both had flaws and hangs ups, Caleb and Abby were enjoyable to share their journey with.
The situation of the book was very real and believeable, these things do happen.
I found all the characters fine, some had major flaws like James, some were self serving like Jessica who got what she wanted - a night with Caleb and some like Abby's dad did things for what they believed were the right reasons at the time but it just had such a major impact later.
It made me think and feel, sometimes I want to, sometimes I don't, but enjoyed doing so in this one.
No billionaires, single dads, virgins, mafia, bratva, rock stars, film stars, OTT Alphas ( though who can resist one), bitchy mothers, sisters, exes, just normal people, in a small city, facing life and issues and I liked it.

Sometimes I'm in the mood for OTT smut sometimes seriousness, this book was a good fit even though I didn't know it when I started.

Yes, I'll be looking for more was this author.

Major O was my first RR Banks book to read and I loved it! This was a steamy, sexy second chance romance. The characters are great and the storyline is so well written that it pulls you in from the first page. Abby and Caleb were high school sweethearts. Abby thought her future consisted of Caleb and her together accomplishing all their dreams. When Caleb leaves town unexpectedly he leaves a broken-hearted Abby behind. Twelve years later when the death of his best friend brings Caleb back home the last thing he expects to do is run into Abby. The spark between Caleb and Abby is still there after all the time they have been apart. When a situation arises where Abby needs help Caleb is quick to step in and assist her. Slowly they begin to catch up and get to know each other again. Some twists along their way pull you more into their story and have you rooting for their second chance. I highly recommend you pick up Major O asap! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I always feel bad leaving 1 star reviews when my issues with the book were mostly plot. In other words, the writing was good, the story pulled me in...all things that should lead me to give the book a higher rating. However, in this case, I disliked the story so much I couldn't bring myself to rate it higher. My reasons are spoilery

Major O

I enjoyed the different stories in this book. Major O was not the only story in this book. I almost stopped reading the first story because the h was a little unbelievable. She has a boyfriend in high school and he leaves town. For 12 years the H I is gone. Meanwhile she goes to college and is now a marriage counselor. Her life is miserable because she can't get over him leaving her. H is back in town for the funeral of his best friend and they meet, h almost faints. 12yrs, college, counselor. That was about it for me. I was ready to close the book when I swipe one more page and the story takes a 180 degree turn. After ttyl8r I was hooked and the rest of the stories were enjoyable as well. The only other problem I had was the use of the word smirk. It was used so often I got sick of it. Smirk is a word that says, "I put one over on you", kind of a nasty little smile. These guys smirked, they didn't smile they smirked whatever the situation was. That and poor editing took some of the enjoyment out of the stories for me. Just my opinion.

Caleb made a choice to leave his hometown forever 12 years ago and abandon the girl he loved without an explanation. Now a tragedy brings him back to town and he must face the woman he's convinced himself to forget.

Abby has never been able to forget her first love. He left her and never looked back. Her devastation caused her to make an impulsive decision to leave town and marry the first man she met after Caleb. Now she's divorced and back in her hometown dating a guy she deems as safe and predictable.

Caleb swears he'll never settle down. He's a guy who wants to sample everything on buffet and the women he meets are more than ready to give him what he's looking for. He's convinced himself that he left Abby so she could have a better life, but now that they've reconnected he's not so sure. Will fate give them a second chance at love or will a scorned ex lover end it before it can begin?

Audio book review
This is my first listen from the author R.R . Banks . He has a great story told . His story is fast paced. Has many twists and turns that will keep you at the edge of your seat , but rooting for the couple .

Caleb is really he's a player, but he likes to pretend he’s a bad boy Caleb was badly hurt in his younger days and he doesn’t want anyone near his heart again . The only way he can do that is to go from women to women. He’s out with a date , not really a date but a women when he passes another women who catches his eye . It’s Abby that catches his eye.
Abby can’t believe in seeing Caleb again . After Caleb hurt her heart she doesn’t know what to do . And to top it off she sees he’s with a woman.

How will Caleb and Abby handle seeing each other again .
Rodney was great in this story. He did the characters fantastic. His voice is smooth, strong , clear and strong

Story: Gonna give this one a 3 star. I liked the story line enough, but did not really care for the characters. Caleb was kind of a douche and Abby was a total doormat. Way too forgiving for my liking and accepted him back into her life even after the first time she sees him in years is on the arm of a HS nemesis that he has every intention of bedding down. That in his thoughts and conversations with this chick mentioned how they always had a spark between them but could never act on it because timing wasn't right. Makes me wonder if he was referring to when he was with Abby...just odd. Abby was a shrink and was completely clueless to what was going on around her...

Narration: Rodney Falcon is AMAZING. He did the voices of both characters well. Exactly how I pictured both Caleb and Abby - especially Abby...she sounded completely dejected after years of pining after Caleb. Will definitely listen to more of Rodney's books just not so sure about this author.

RR Banks can put together a sorry with so many feelings, it's impossible to put down! As I began to listen I first thoughts Caleb was going to be the typical manwhore. Ex-military and gorgeous, he comes back to his hometown to attend a funeral. The question is, why did he leave? At 18 he left everything behind, including his girlfriend Abby, and now is he unexpectedly has his second chance at romance. As much as I wanted to nit like Caleb, I loved the complexity Banks gave him. He has a lot of layers, and we get to work through his story. And we can't forget the steamy passion and unforgettable hi or that is infused through out the book. It's entertaining and a great escape.

Rodney Falcon adds so much to this book with his narration. He is perfect for the role of Caleb and really captures his personality. I love Falcon, he has such a great voice and variety of nuances that enhances his performance.

A Review of Major O: A Bad Boy Military Romance by R.R. Banks

Abby and Caleb - 4.5 stars

This is the first book I've had the opportunity to read by Mr. Banks and I have to say I like his style. Also, being a cover snob, I have to say I LOVED this cover. The model is yummylicious and I really like the tats he has. The characters are well developed and the storyline is strong enough to carry you through the grammatical issues. I really like the way Mr. Banks gives you all this back story to build up the characters.

This is well worth the price, especially with all the extras you get with it -- the full Billionaire Boss Series, his Newsletter exclusive AND an unpublished work as well, all for less than a buck!

I think this may be my favorite book from RR Banks thus far. Caleb is a former Marine sniper, now a PI, that gets called back to his hometown for a death. Abby is the girl he ghosted more than we years ago and she is also back in town. When these two see each other again, it sparks a chain reaction that you wouldn't believe. This book has love, heartbreak, happiness, terror and action. RR Banks takes you through a whirlwind of emotions, and don't be surprised if you shed a tear or two.  I believe it is my favorite second chance romance I have read so far this year.  I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This book puts the capital D in “dirty” and “douchebag”. Not only is Caleb, the H, a huge manwhore, but he doesn’t appear to practice safe-sex. He sleeps with countless random ONS for over 12 years prior to reconnecting with Abby, the h, his HS gf, but there’s never any mention of condom use. He doesn’t use protection with anyone, including the h, and Jessica, an old HS classmate who he fucks bareback THE DAY BEFORE he makes-up with Abby and sleeps with her…….bareback.🤮

Besides the eek factor, the plot is full of loose ends that are never resolved or explained. The MCs and secondary characters are one dimensional and the dialogue is laughably puerile. Overall, the book may be a quick read, but it’s so ghastly that I beg readers not to waste your precious time.

Wow!!!
Talk about some steamy love! Abby is in her home town trying to put her life in order from her failed marriage. Caleb left her 12 years ago and Abby had to heal from his up and leaving her without a word. She healed from that and married the first man afterwards. It lasted a few years but Caleb was always on her mind. Caleb got a call to head home to his best friend's funeral and he had no idea that Abby was there. She was dating James but something was off with him and she tried to break it off but he wouldn't take no. Thrilling and loving and super hot book. Very much enjoyed it.

I gave it three stars because I was really kind of grossed out by the lack of condom use! I know Caleb is supposed to be a bad boy/man whore but he could be a walking STI factory. EWWW! Some of the other reviews I read had the same thought. I would have thought it was a solid 4 star read without the Ick factor. And let's not even go there with the Jessica issue. Also why does Abby have to be TSTL at the end with the crazy EX? She does everything she isn't supposed to do just to be rescued by Caleb!

This book was the best story that this author has done to date. He hit his stride, found his voice, however you want to put it his talent is front and center with this book. The characters come alive in this book. So much so that I would have loved to give the lead man a good ear twist once or twice, to make come to his senses a little faster! The storyline is engaging from beginning to end. Good job!

I just loved this book as it had both Abby and Caleb with vulnerabilities and you got to see how they both overcame them and find out the truth. The fact we got a great back story while reading was great as you could relate to the Abby and Caleb more and really feel for them as well as get to know the other characters around them. You really can't beat a book that has suspense, drama, intrigue and of course a HEA!

Abby and Caleb were high school sweethearts when they were torn apart by her father. He ended up going off to the Marines, she has a failed marriage. He returns and is now a private investigator and returns to their home town for a funeral. Do they get a second chance?

This is a great storyline with plenty of drama and is a page turner from the start.
