As the Cambridge University Press has expressed, and I fairly admit this, one of the most advantages of this dictionary over the others, specially Oxford version, is that there is a short, simple and practical word defining the entry. I think this method accelerates the process of that a new word sticks in mind. So after experimenting some dictionaries such as Longman Handy Learner's ... and Oxford Advances Learner's.., I finally decided to focus on this dictionary.
I really liked the presentation of the words in this dictionary, but it misses some important meanings, that even a pocket-dictionary offers. E.g. Accordingly - there is only one meaning available: 'in a way that is suitable or right for the situation'. It does not tell us that also means 'for that reason; therefore'.
This is a good dictionary. While it does not give derivations of its words, it still contains sentences to understand better how the words is used. Additionally to words, this dictionary also has writing advice and pictures of some words, such as the names of vegetables and fruit, which can only be properly defined through images. I have used this dictionary and its tools many times and gained benefit from it in my studies.
