Latte Girl

Rate this book
Hot coffee is a regular fixture in Hailey Warren’s life. Hot guys? Not so much.

Her grueling shifts at a cafe in the heart of the city’s business sector are rarely punctuated by anything special, so when the gorgeous heir to the security company next door strides into Hailey’s life, it feels like punctuation with a capital P (or D, depending on your preferred terminology.)

Jordan Knox is enough to send her heart racing faster than a triple shot of espresso, and when the attraction proves to be mutual, no hidden corners or empty offices are safe from their game of cat and mouse.

But when she’s ready to drop the pretenses, Jordan continues to hold back, and Hailey realizes he’s been hiding secrets that could make whatever’s brewing between them boil over and burn.

“He’s staring at me like I’m a solar eclipse, some cosmic event that makes you drop everything to run and catch a glimpse of the sky.”

I thought I wasn’t that into Katia Rose’s straight romances but then Latte Girl came along and changed everything. I was so absorbed in this story that I finished it in only two days. Latte Girl was Katia’s first book, but it doesn’t read like a typical indie author’s first book. It reads like a well polished romance with tons of chemistry that jumps off the page at the readers.

The chemistry was probably my favorite part of this entire book. Hailey and Jordan are really well suited for each other. Hailey’s the cute underpaid cafe worker while Jordan is the charming rich business guy who Hailey can’t stop bumping into. They had instalove (which I’m not usually a fan of), but that instalove developed into a complex romance that kept me captivated from their first encounter.

I liked Jordan, but it was Hailey that I loved the most. She was a really well rounded character that I rooted for from the very first page. I loved how her journey involved finding ways to pursue her passion while also balancing caring for her family. It was really interesting to watch her character arc unfold throughout the course of this book.

On another note, Mel and Mina were a queer side couple in the story. They didn’t have many scenes in the book, but I adored their relationship and I would love it if there was a whole book focusing on their story some day.

Now was this book perfect? Absolutely not. I felt like the whole rumor situation wasn’t handled well by Jordan. I also felt like the sexual assault could’ve been addressed more. It was a great opportunity to address how men can be victims of sexual assault, but instead the whole conflict revolving around the assault was brushed off as miscommunication. It was a bit frustrating.

However, this book was exactly what I needed when I read it. It was an escape from reality that helped me believe in love again, and it was extremely enjoyable for me. This book is definitely not for everyone, but it’s great for anyone who is interested in a spicy rich guy x poor girl romance.

Jordan works for his dad at the family company. He hates his job, but he does it to please his parents. An unexpected meeting with Hailey makes him laugh again and she will change things for him. Hailey works in the coffee shop next to the building where Jordan works. When the person who normally does the catering at Jordan’s company is sick, Hailey has to do it.

Hailey and Jordan are great characters. I loved them as a couple. They are so good for each other. Both of them have a dream and they support and believe in each other. Hailey and Jordan may be opposites, but they have an instant connection. They keep thinking about each other and love to be together. They fall hard and fast.

I liked and enjoyed this book. It made me smile sometimes. I wanted more development of their relationship. I also felt that they were dating for only a few days when they broke up for a long time. Sometimes it felt rushed.

2-5-stars

disclaimer

I had high hopes for this, so you can sense my disappointment when it just didn't feel right. It was an okay book...nothing great... to be honest I wanted to put this into the DNF section but i stuck through it and finished it. The plot wasn't the best.... the characters were ok...average at best. I'll try to read more of this author's book... give it another go but this just wasn't it for me.

Latte Girl was a well-written and fast-paced story that kept me fully engaged and entertained. The humour was awesome—there were times I was actually laughing out loud! The main characters were highly appealing and relatable and I loved how they were developed, individually and also as a couple. The romance was extremely believable and I could feel both the emotional connection as well as the physical chemistry between the protagonists. Some of the intimate scenes were a bit too graphic for my taste, though, but it definitely didn’t stop me from enjoying the book :-)

My Rating: 4 STARS= Very Good= Enjoyable= I liked it very much...!

Disclosure: I was one of the beta readers for this book.

Beautiful romantic couple

Latte Girl is such a cute read. The first page had me smiling. The romance was back and forth I want but I can't kind of thing. Hailey and Jordan had good chemistry and great sexual tension. I really enjoyed this book!

Hailey is an aspiring Blogger who has a passion for cafe's and coffee! She is still living with her mother saving for college and helping with her little sister. She works at the coffee shop right beside the Knox Security building. She ends up catering to a bunch of meetings over there and runs into Jordan. He is by far the sexist guy she has ever seen and he can be the new star in her fantasy. On top of how hot he is he is funny and sweet to her. She really likes him and he makes her want to go for her dreams. She wants Jordan she just doesn't know how many times she can see him walk away form her.

Jordan is miserable. He hates the direction his life is going in. The last thing he wants is to work for his father but hes has to if he wants to see his mom again. The only bright part of his life is Hailey. When he sees her he feels the instant connection between them He wants to spend time with her and to get to know her. She is different and everything he wants but he cant seem to find a way to fit her into his corporate hell hole. He has to deiced between the life he want with Hailey and to stay doing what his father orders him to so that he can see his mom.

I really enjoyed this book! It was so cute. I love Hailey she is so cool. This book was sweet and funny and sexy and so adorable. I wish we could have seen more of Hailey's sister she was so cute! This is such a good Contemporary read. If you are ever in the mood for a really cute Romantic read I say pick this one up!!

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Katia Rose!

This was so cute! When the author says she like her romances smart and steamy, she wasn't kidding. Her characters were witty, intelligent, and funny. While reading the first chapter, I laughed approximately at four different scenes.

I loved how this story was about following your heart, and creating your own path, and not the one your parents set out for you. It's about staying true to yourself, and not being afraid to break from normality and doing what you want to do; forgetting about the rational, and following your passion. I think that that is really relevant nowadays in society. Our generation feels pressured to go into fields that don't interest us simply because our parents think those are the only acceptable ones (not speaking from experience).

Anyway, I haven't even hit the romance part yet *wink*. Oh my god, that declaration was super original and heart warming. Katia Rose, you have officially raised the bar. I don't think the male humans like you very much now.

I would have liked to have had a scene with Amanda and Jordan just for the hell of it, because that little human is the best, but other than that, really well done!

This book was just so cute! This story follows a 22 year old girl named Hailey who is working at a cafe and helping to take care of her younger sister. One day she meets a guy named Jordan who is working at the security department next door and the story goes from there.

I really loved Hailey, I thought she was just so relateable and so many times I found myself nodding my head like "Yes Hailey I completely agree with you!". Jordan was definitely a swoon worthy male lead and had so many charming moments. I liked the backstory with his mom and I thought that gave an interesting dynamic to the story.

The love story was equal parts sweet and sexy and I enjoyed every second of it!

My only complaint about this lovely novel is that I wished that we got a bit more time with the characters after Jordan's big secret was revealed. The last part of the story just felt a tad bit rushed and I wanted to see how the characters reacted to this situation and the fallout of this information.

I will definitely be checking out more of Katia's work!

I was lucky enough to read Latte Girl by: Katia Rose && this little gem was awesome. While reading I thought wow, how adorable is this contemporary romance read so sweet light && hilarious, but then...... THEN!!! Hello naughty sexiness *insert fire image here. I so didn't see that coming.
Latte Girl gave you all the feeling I was not expecting the "adult vibe" I was expecting a feel good sweet read which I always enjoy.

Can we just take a minute to swoon over the main character Hailey she's the girl next door with a witty mouth who was REAL! I wanna bff this girl asap! Ah... Jordan you couldn't be anymore perfect, even when you were making some dumb decisions, I still loved you plus it didn't hurt that you were easy on the eyes (what I visualize my book boyfriends) lmao.

Latte Girl was like my favorite Hallmark movie in a book BTW! ( Hallmark Movies need to get on this) Girl & Boy meet lots && I mean lots of awkward encounters that lead up to... Did you think I was going to give it away HA! You're going to have to pick up your very own copy to find out!

This was a very stereotypical portrayal of lust at first sight turned to love..ish.

Initially the characters are attracted to each other and the whole story takes off from there. It was very unrealistic and at times frustrating. I know that this is an over-dramatization of life but my goodness. I have never known someone who is so far in love after one date, I mean come on. Also someone with an MBA and an ivy league background is hopefully finding something better than minimum wage job and living with multiple roommates.

Other than the gross over simplifications of love, sex, and relationships and life style options, I thought this was a really cute and steamy novel. I am a smut lover. Although this story didn't have smut in every chapter, it did have some some steamy exerts but, they did leave me... wanting more.

It was sweet story that involved sex and coffee. Of course I recommend it for all for a quick read.

I started reading Latte Girl as a beta reader for Katia, but didn’t have time to finish before she published. I bought a copy, not just to support a fellow author, but because I wanted to finish and wanted the final version. I’ve read several romances now, and found Katia’s approach fresh and appealing. And her sex scenes are steamy! I like how her happily ever after doesn’t make everything perfect, and shows that Hailey and Jordon are starting a long road, but with support for each other.

Thank you Katia for a lovely story! I look forward to reading your next work!

Katia Rose's Latte Girl was fantastic! Full of swoon worthy romance, lovable characters, and terribly awkward yet incredibly funny moments, Latte Girl had me reading until I could barely keep my eyes open. And when I woke up the next morning? The first thing I did - besides make myself a chai latte of course - was finish it!

One of my favorite aspects of this book was the two main characters - Jordan and Hailey!

Jordan and Hailey were not only incredibly likable but also relatable. Both weren't sure what they wanted to do for the rest of their lives. Jordan knew he didn't want to work at his father's company for the rest of his life while Hailey knew she doesn't want to work as a barista for the rest of hers. A big portion of this book involves Hailey and Jordan reaching for their dreams and taking the leap, no matter the outcome. I not only respected that but understood it completely - as a 20-something myself, I thought Katia did a fanatic job of getting the voice of one (the hope, the confusion, the wanting more, etc.) down pat!

Additionally, I loved Hailey's humor. Throughout the book she unintentionally did/said so many awkward yet funny things! There were so many scenes that just had me laughing out loud. Better yet, I loved how Hailey just took the awkwardness in stride. Jordan, on the other, hand, was 100% swoon-worthy. SIGH...where can I find my own Jordan? He was charming and sweet, and while he sometimes made some questionable choices, I still couldn't help but root for him!

As one can expect, the plot of this mainly revolved around Jordan and Hailey's romance. It was the stereotypical boy-meets-girl, boy-and-girl-fall-in-love albeit a few miscalculations and hiccups, and I loved every single minute of it. I loved seeing Jordan and Hailey's relationship develop, and luckily, it wasn't one of those insta-love scenarios. Instead, their relationship developed at a steady pace, one that made their connection much more tangible, in my opinion. Better yet, their romance had the perfect level of steam - plenty to appease any romance reader! In addition to their romance, I really enjoyed seeing Hailey's home life - her mom and sister were adorable - as well as Hailey's life at the coffee shop - yay for seeing positive female friendships, their nights out reminded me of my own nights out with my best friends!

My only compliant about Latte Girl was the pacing at the start. It took me about 2-4 chapters to get really into the story, but after that it was smooth sailing.

Perfect for fans of Linda Kage & Layla Hagen, Latte Girl is well worth a read! I simply can't for Katia's next book, Thigh Highs. Here's to hoping it comes out sooner than later.

4 HEA Stars!
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
Spark-note version:
Just kidding...kinda. I did LOVE it though!!

I loved how in the beginning, the chapters would overlap in the other persons POV so you get the full picture. I am also glad it did not stay that way throughout. Jordan and Hailey were pretty kick ass characters! I loved them, naked-pasta-eating Jordan was the ultimate book boyfriend! Yes, he had Daddy issues - but in the end, he made up for it. Making poor decisions for the sake of the morale of his employees was spineless, like most stories he just was caught in the worst situations.

Hailey was hilarious! She had a good head on her shoulders, with dreams she was shooting for. Her inner temptress was a perfect fit for her!
I absolutely LOVED that they would catch themselves in saying something very cheesy during their own inner dialogue.
Va va Voom?Really? Maybe I should lay off the flirtinis too"

Speaking of Flirtinis - I need one of those right now! My only issue would be wanting an epilogue or maybe a second short story? I want to hear more about how Jordan is coping with the fact that he is .
Overall, I was very happy to have been given the opportunity to read this book!

4 Jordan and Hailey Stars

Gorgeous story with a really likeable hero and heroine. This felt like a really fresh book- Jordan, our hero , is not the typical player or alpha. He comes across as being quite vulnerable and isolated at times but this balances with him trying to shake his life up and also get the girl he has fallen hard for. I liked the fact that he was a bit unsure of himself at times - both of these characters are early twenties and their story fits their age. For all his uncertainty, Jordan is a passionate guy and the love scenes in this book are HOT.
Hailey is a strong heroine but she too is vulnerable at times but she comes across as the sort of person who seizes the chances when they come. I liked that she stood up for herself.

Not too much angst and some excellent humour. Really lovely , sexy, funny and sweet Summer read with an element of heart string tugging too.

So why not 5 stars? There were some typos and I felt like it was a little rushed at the end. Hailey' s sister Amanda is hilarious and I would have liked more scenes with her. Also the ending was HFN rather than HEA.

ARC review

*** ARC KINDLY provided by the AUTHOR in exchange for a HONEST REVIEW ***

I love myself a good and fun debut romance novel. Since I became a blogger less than a year ago, I've had the fortune of reading some of the best books I've ever read. Those books just so happened to be debut novels. I want to shout from the rooftops and do EVERYTHING that I can do help promote them to make more books ASAP and be at the same pay level and book purchased amount as top romance authors. This one is definitely included.

We meet Hailey Warren first. She works hard for her family and does everything she can to support herself, her mother and half sister. Having to be the other parent in the household she doesn't have much time for relationships and find the one, but she does have time to visualize her perfect dream sex situation. At least she thought she was imagining the perfect man, then she met Jordan Knox.

Jordan Knox is the yummy guy next door.. kinda. He works in the office next door to Hailey's work at the coffee shop and their first interaction is a definite meet cute. Their flirting is horrible but adorable, and the situations they find themselves in because of each other is hilarious. After they first meet they both are fantasizing about each other in not so innocent ways. I was desperately waiting for some action to finally happen, especially in the ways they were dreaming about.

Except work and family gets in the way. Then out of no where Hailey gets a blast from the past and I have no idea what to expect with this book, but holy crap am I hooked!!

I LOVED this book. There were ups and downs and lots of passion. I had moments where I was almost in tears from sadness and the next is laughter. The curve ball this read threw was understanding and yet the HEA outcome did not come fast which was absolutely perfect for these two.

I fell in love with the other characters, especially the two ladies from Cuppa Joe! The love they have for Hailey and the support the give for Jordan for that HEA is absolutely wonderful and without them the cute and PERFECT ending would have not been.

After I was done with this read, I instantly ran over to Katia Rose's website and subscribed to her club. (Which you can visit here) Can not wait to read more!!

Previously review at www.smexybooks.com
Jordan and Hailey meet by chance when she caters a meeting at the big security firm next to the coffee shop she works at. Hailey is thrown into the new position when a co-worker has an accident. The security firm is an important client so there is really no choice but to send Hailey to set up for the meeting. When her catering cart goes a little wonky in the lobby of the building, Jordan comes to her rescue. Later he shows up in the meeting that she’s catering and the connection there is definitely the beginnings of a spark.

I liked Hailey. She has made quite a bit of sacrifice growing up with a single mom and a younger sister that she now helps to care for. Her mom’s job has long hours, so she has carved her schedule and life around helping to care for her little sister. What is amazing about that, is that Hailey just does it because it’s the right thing to do. She doesn’t bitch about what she’s missing out on, she helps because her mom needs her to. She works to save for school. She has plans, but she is okay with delaying it for a bit.

I liked Jordan as well. His situation is much more complicated. His father has, for years, laid a heavy dose of guilt onto Jordan shoulders, using it to get Jordan to tow the line and follow what he wanted for Jordan’s future, not considering what Jordan wanted at all. And Jordan, wanting to please his father and mother, did what was demanded of him. Jordan’s mother is ill, and in a special care facility, and Jordan hasn’t seen her for years. Jordan’s father refuses to disclose her location telling Jordan that she is too fragile. He tells Jordan that if he continues to show promise at the company, as he has so far, he’s sure that a visit with his mother would be in order.

Haylie and Jordan have both put their dreams on hold because of family needs, but though that seems to be something they have in common, Jordan’s situation is entirely not by choice. He is so unhappy and uncomfortable in his position at his father’s company. His life becomes much more tolerable when Haylie comes into his life. But then that starts a rumor among the men at work and Jordan is forced to pretend that he is some sort of player and Haylie is simply a conquest.

Which brings me to the one thing that I didn’t like about this book and which made no sense to me. When Jordan begins working at his father’s firm, there is this very strange code amongst the men that women are playthings. They talk about them very disrespectfully. Jordan hate this, but feels the need to play along to stay in his father’s good graces. He also stays in good standing with his co-workers by acting the part. I have no idea where this comes from or what exactly the author hoped to convey by making the men at Jordan’s workplace complete and utter chauvinist pigs.

This debut by Katia Rose is a story I like to classify as a “feel good” story. It’s not too deep, not too much angst, some drama, but it doesn’t drag along. The conflict was expected, but we didn’t need to wait too long for it all to be resolved. All in all a nice story about a boy and a girl who have to get over a few obstacles before they can be together.

"I've never had someone stuck in my head quite like you are."

OHMYGOODNESS!! What a sweet and sexy debut novel! It could have not been more perfect! I absolutely loved it! Latte Girl is the ultimate feel good romantic comedy of the summer! The characters are whimsical and witty with humor that left me smiling, laughing out loud, and feeling giddy.

"I looked up. The second I do, I let out one of those wide-eyed, round-mouthed, eyebrows-arching-up-to-my-hairline kind of gasps that can't be interpreted as meaning anything other than, 'you're so attractive I feel like I just got hit by a train.'

Everything about this novel pulled me in. The romance between Jordan and Hailey was smooth and passionate. The banter was clever with a side of sexy. *smirks while winking* The humor was quirky and real. Speaking of humor, can we talk about how hilarious Hailey's inner dialogue was...

"I immediately regret every action that has led up to this moment of my life, including being born."

*snorts*

*looks around blushing but continues laughing*

... because, at times, it was like I was reading my own thoughts. And the incredibly awkward yet comical situations she found herself in left me cringing, blushing, and laughing. And the message of the novel was beautiful. In the end it left me smiling and looking at the world through a rose-colored glass! Thank you so much for providing me the chance to read this novel early! I simply adored it and cannot wait for Thigh Highs!

Jennifer

Latte Girl turns one today! This is my very first novel, and as such, Hailey and Jordan's story will always hold a special place in my heart. I wrote this book for readers who, like me, enjoy their rom with a healthy dose of com alongside it, and want a love story that's equal parts sexy and sweet.

A lot of Hailey's job at a business sector cafe was inspired by the time I worked at a cafe in a government office (though sadly no Jordan Knox ever came striding in the door). Latte Girl is at once a romance and an ode to having the courage to find a pursue what you really want, even when the world seems to be pushing you to do the opposite.

This is the book that started me down the path of romance writing, and a whole year later, I'm still going strong with it! Hailey and Jordan were the perfect gateway couple to get me hooked on telling these kinds of stories, and I hope they make you laugh and swoon as much as they did for me.

Hailey works in a coffee shop in the business area of the city. Jordan just started working at the family company. It doesn't take long for their lives to collide.
Both are leading very different lives, but both feeling like there are puzzle pieces missing.

I really enjoyed this book. It made me think about what I would do in certain situations. Family is a big theme in the book. It was interesting to see how family life can be so different. Latte Girl is the debut novel by Katia Rose. It's a light, fun romantic comedy. I look forward to reading more for the author.

This was tough for me to get into. It’s an extremely slow burner of a story and has two POVs that are my pet hate. I also hated the way men are in this book that I just can’t stand all the sleazy comments and sexist attitude that had me gritting my teeth and just not enjoying it. Even the male MC Jordan is a sexist so-so the second he meets the girl…even though she’s supposed to be this amazing looking girl to him…his mind instantly goes to sex.

Yea….

And I’m only on chapter 4, but what time of business man starts doing jumping jacks in the middle of the cafeteria…it’s taking everything for me to keep reading.

Okay… I forgot that the Haily the female MC is also hyper sexualised in her thoughts as well. I mean…sigh. I know this story is supposed to be a love story, but there are ways of falling for someone without being totally focused up about sex and sex acts. Like, people actually fall for their personality or their looks without getting sexual.

“My not-so-tempting inner temptress” — *growns* this didn’t work for Fifty Shades, it isn’t suddenly going to work now.

The interaction don’t make sense! One minute they’re talking about parks and cafe, Jordan is about to say something that he doesn’t want to say and stops, so Haily goes ‘Jordon’ to get him to talk and he takes it as a invitation to try and get intimate for the first time??

Okay, so by himself Jordan doesn’t seem so bad than his work colleagues. Like he comes across a decent and not sexist.

Then after reading about all this buildup of them kissing, when they do actually kiss it’s not built up and it falls…flat…and it’s cliche. I wish there written with more passion and feeling behind it.

Some identical descriptions come up a few times that I felt like I was having deja-vu. This isn’t a bad thing if it was intentional, but it kinda kicked my head out of the story for a few moments. Also Hailey has had the whole night to think of their first kiss and it takes her till midmorning the following day to finally get annoyed at him?? How slow can you be with your own emotions??

There's a flashback scene of the male MC and his dad telling him to not see how mother...this is the scene that really had me thinking of stoping for two reasons:
1) It was WAY too unrealistic and disjointed.
2) In the space of 2 pages there were 4 typos.

The dialogue between the characters sometimes seems off. They say such melodramatic that normal people wouldn’t say. On the topic of dialogue: Dialogue and emotions just don’t ever get mixed in this story. They have a confrontation in the cafe where Jordon is trying to win Hailey back and he goes on a rant and there no break or description or emotion. It could’ve meant so much more. Also this is the scene that made me hate Hailey.

I LOVED the Flirtini night scene- I love when they were giggling and drunk and unable to speak. But then Hailey had to ruin it by shouting at Jordan over sitting with another girl when they’ve only ‘briefly’ kissed once and what was happening between them wasn’t even a relationship. She came across a bit of a psycho and when Steve was asking to go home with him…why did she go through the whole night in her head? What normal person thinks like that?

The introduction of Steve seems too conveniently placed just for the sake of the story. Like, I would have liked Steve to pop into the cafe a bit easier than this, just to get to know him and to not seem like a convenient plot device.

I just had to stop reading because I no longer cared for the characters and felt like nothing was moving forward. So it's DNF for me.

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I'm sorry. I tried to like this book since I got it for free, but since they did ask my honest opinion I was extremely disappointed. I think the only thing I liked about the book was the concept or idea of a latte girl falling for a office guy that she was catering. What a cute meet-cute idea. Everything about the execution just didn't sit well with me.

First, let's talk about the story. I know many NA books don't really have a plot, but I prefer some type of believable conflict. Even if it's just a misunderstanding or communication or some character's insecurities, past history, or what not. This one just seemed so absurd to me, I couldn't get behind it. I just felt it was a weak conflict and really really really really irritated me. I just found myself rolling my eyes whenever this plot point was brought up. Hailey had a much more believable conflict with deciding to go to school or pursuing her passion with her mother's expectations putting pressure on the situation. Even so, it's still boring as fuck to read, because you've read it a hundred times before. There was nothing fresh about it. So if you want to read something that's been done a hundred times in a bland way, this book is for you.

The romance itself didn't have the right chemistry I was expecting. There were also just insane things that went on that made me be like WTF. That scene really pissed me off.

Next is the characters. As I said, Jordan has such an annoying plot point that I found his character weak and unlikable. Which means, I didn't fall in love with him. So that in turned again turned me off to the romance between the two. Hailey was better, but she was kind of bland and boring. What you would expect. Nothing special. She wasn't extremely witty or inspiring.

Another major issue I had with this book was the writing. It was so cliched it bored me. Now, sometimes I love cliched moments, but they must be executed right. Like with great dialogue or a new take on the cliche. The whole time I read this book, I was falling asleep. It had become my put me to sleep book. Normally, NA books take me 1-2 days to read. This one took like over a week. Everything was predictable, bland, boring, or nothing was actually happening.

I'm sorry if I sound harsh in this review, but honestly I wouldn't have finished it if I didn't feel like I owed the author a full review.

"Latte Girl", a Young Adult romance by Katia Rose, is her debut novel. A romance with wonderful characters and an alluring plot, this book captivates readers from the start. Plus with an unexpected twist, this novel is hard to put down. So get caffeinated and settle in for a exceptional 5-star read.

"Latte Girl" by Katia Rose stand out among the romance genre for many reasons, including my favorites:

* A captivating cover with a passionate couple embracing in a cafe, with a title that may be simplistic but captures the focus of the book well.

* A lead female character that isn't afraid to stand up for what she wants. Working in a cafe, to earn her way to university while managing family commitments makes her character realistic and easily invokes an interest in her life and choices.

*A lead male character, even though rich, doesn't take the easy road in life. His character develops ten-fold after meeting the "Latte Girl" who is isn't willing to let her go easily.

* A narrative that interchanges between lead characters so that readers understand the story from both perspectives. This also shows how both characters continue to grow with each other as the plot develops, pushing each other to be better.

*A plot that is intriguing, passionate and captivating. The story "Latte Girl" is full of fun, desire, humor, and most of all unexpected twists.

*With many twists and turns in the plot, the story continues to move forward and keep readers hooked.

*An ending that is not expected, adding surprise and intrigue to the story, brings "Latte Girl" to the next level.

All elements combined make "Latte Girl" by Katia Rose a must read for all romance lovers and stand out as a 5-star exceptional read. I look forward to reading Katia Rose's latest release "Thigh Highs", which I am sure will be just as alluring as this novel.

I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a copy from the author.

What I Liked:
Jordan and Hailey were easy to relate to and I liked them. They are young and in that wonderful stage of life where they're trying to figure out what they want from life, and the type of person they want to be, while juggling responsibilities and familial expectations.

What I Didn't Like:
While the chemistry between Jordan and Hailey was good, their relationship lacked depth. I felt their attraction but not their connection and that was a problem for me seeing as their relationship was the catalyst for change in their lives. It should have been more. I should have felt more. I should have been routing for them to get their cake and eat it, and by that I mean pursue their passions and live happily ever after, and I wasn't. I routed for them as individuals but I wasn't overly bothered about whether they ended up a happy couple and that hurt my romantic little heart.

I detested the workplace chauvinism and predatory pig like behaviour in Jordan's workplace and, despite understanding the position Jordan was in, I didn't like how he played along with it.

Other Thoughts:
It was a good debut novel and I'd be interested in reading more from the author in the future.
