The man that most people just call 'Chuck' was born in the winter of the year of the summer of love to a couple of crazy kids from the deep woods of Alabama. He came up the rough way, riding out his excessively dramatic home life on a steady diet of escapism courtesy of comic books, Sci-Fi and Fantasy novels, and any kind of TV show or movie that could show him a hero he could believe in, fictional or otherwise. Straight out of high school, he joined the USAF and got out after only a single tour. He never wanted to be just one thing so he set about exploring the country and collecting skills, knowledge, and interests like a boxer collecting scars. Eventually he settled into the healthcare world where he worked for well on thirteen years before getting disillusioned and burned out. Fortunately, a lovely young woman had taken pity on him by then and joined her life to his giving him beautiful children and the chance to stay home and care for them while writing his books. There is irony in that because through all his life of seeking to not be 'one thing' and live a life filled with the road less traveled, he has always been a writer. He has also always wondered why authors are expected to write these things in third person.
I read a lot of Science Fiction; a lot. Typically 3-4 books per week. And shamefully, I rarely take the time to submit a review (partially due to the crappy Kindle Fire keyboard too).
I'm making an exception for the Cordova Series.. The books are that good.. The characters now seem like people I know, they are portraited that perfectly.. And the story itself is a singlelarity; like no other..
I'd write more, but I just can't take anymore of this awful Fire keyboard, so trust me, start reading about the amazing adventures of Leslie "Brace" Cordova NOW! .To Mr. Manley.. Please, Please hurry with the next volume.. Please!
Here we go again, second book better than the first we’ll not really but almost as good. I am really looking forward to book three and the final three in the series Larry
I couldn't put the book down. It was fast-moving and did stall at all. If anything, I feel like this was even better than the first one. I will definitely be watching for the next one.
Good story, great characters, plot holds my attention. But the best part is the give and take between characters. That's VERY good! Unfortunately, despite a heart-felt promise to move the series along, it appears it stopped here. No idea why.
