Amazing book

What will happen after we die? Is Afterlife possible? The plot is around these interesting questions and the main protagonist are Gregory and Abby. These two people are choosen by one of the Aspects of Nature to record the activities of the living. It's a normal plot untill Abby meets Gregory. Now, Gregory helps Abby as mentor. They were happily roaming and Abby also started recording dreams.

While recording dreams, they messed up with Carter. After that Gregory and Abby are pulled into the Dreamscape and Carter leaves them there and these two got stuck up there. How will they escape? Will they be able to record dreams? For knowing more about this interesting plot please grab the book.

I loved the concept of the book. It's really curious to imagine about Afterlife. The plot proceeded well and the characters are amazingly developed. The writing style is simple and elegant. The language is easy to understand. The book is in good phase and quite long read but very engaging.

I recommend this book to all fiction lovers. This fiction is entirely different form normal fiction books. It's very compelling and refreshing read for me. I enjoyed reading the book.

Have you ever wondered what life might be like after you die? Well there is not an definite answer to that question but at least you are free to think about it. This is the concept "The Dream Recorder" brings.
It tells a story about afterlife and the life of the main characters George and Abby. They have been chosen to record Dreams for The Aspect Of Dreams. At first George had been going on with his monotonous routine every single day. But one day Abby, a newcomer appears in this world. He takes the role of a mentor and helps her get accustomed to the whole place and her daily responsibilities. Although it is too overwhelming for her she is able to cope nicely to her new life. Even after all those hurdles she gets used to life there. She even starts her job as a dream recorder alongside her mentor  Gregory. It was one of those nights of their recording sessions that she had an encounter with the mischievous Gremlin, Carter. Carter annoys both Abby and Gregory after which he disappears but leave them with a new and mysterious problem. They discover due to Carter messing with Gregory's glasses he could enter his subjects dreams. Which a few days later is the cause of their disappearance. They get absorbed into one of the dreamer's dream and here starts the story of their struggle and journey of their attempts to leave the Dreamscape.
The concept of the story was very refreshing to read. I have to say this book has been one of the most entertaining book I have read in a while. The story is creative and totally deserves a movie of its own. There are two main protagonists and any introduction of any new characters does not seem overwhelming and it makes it much easier to identify them. The plot is put together really nicely and the buildup of suspense is flawless. If you like fantasy, fiction or mystery be sure to check it out. You won't regret it.

Life after death is certainly more exciting than Abby could have hoped for. Being a Dream Recorder means that she watches and records dreams. At least, until something goes awry and suddenly they’re inside the Dreamscape, affecting billions of people worldwide.

The novella is a rather delightful one, featuring a wonderful cast of characters and a well-executed plot. Everything felt smooth from start to finish. The world was planned well and the writing style suited it excellently. There were so many creative, nuanced things that helped enhance the narrative and keep the reader incredibly interested. I had a hard time putting it down.

I will say there are some minor edits needed, mostly involving tense change from past to present. However the rest of the novella is pure quality so those factors can be overlooked.

Definitely a good read. I enjoyed it very much.

I love to read! But this is the first time I have been kept in suspense until the end and I don't ever remember reading anything close to this view of afterlife! WOW!

When Gregory is assigned as the mentor of a new recently-deceased recorder of dreams, he doesn't know his entire future is at risk...

**I received a free copy of this book courtesy of the author and Reedsy Discovery. Receiving a copy for free has in no way influenced my review. This is an honest, spoiler-free review, and all opinions expressed within are solely my own.**

When life as a 'corporeal being' ceases, some people awaken to a new life as 'minions', performing various tasks to record the histories of and guide people who are still living.

Gregory is a dream recorder--a man serving in his afterlife as someone who records the dreams of the living by viewing them through special goggles and on magical notebooks.

When Abby arrives as his newest trainee, Gregory thinks he's been sent a surprisingly easy to train recruit. What neither Abby nor Greg realize, though, is that a certain mischief-making gremlin has set other plans in motion with drastic implications for all of humanity, both the living and those in the afterlife.

The Dream Recorder is a very ambitious debut novel that is teeming with original, creative plot twists and superb world-building. It sets up a world, characters, and a storyline that I found myself invested in very early on, despite the editing errors that pop up throughout the piece.

With so many big plot lines going, though, the story becomes overwhelmed by the plot very quickly, resulting in many questions that were never answered (and, in a couple places, all-out holes that aren't resolved by the end of this book).

I found myself pulled into Gregory and Abby's struggles to return to their world and accept their new lots in life very quickly, but beyond that the story seemed to hold the reader at arm's length, preferring to progress quickly through the plot instead of go deeper into these characters. (This could have easily been a full-length novel of 50,000-75,000 words, and I would have held on for every bit of it.)

The story is told in a Middle-Grade fantasy style, being extremely vague (almost too vague to follow) on the concepts of death, whatever disease Abby had before she passed, and Gregory's relationship with another character in the book. The dialogue flows a bit like middle-grade fiction, as well. However, there are plot points here and content discussed that honestly may be better suited for YA readers.

The Dream Recorder has amazing potential, and the series overall is intriguing. I personally wish there was more substance to resolving some of the dangling plot lines, and some deeper insight into the characters (especially since they are dealing with life and death here, something I'd typically expect to take a very, very long time to transition through).

This story would be a wonderful, quick read for someone looking to just enjoy the ride (and not get too caught up in small details). It marries the thrill of The Matrix with an inventive afterlife world in a voice that many YA readers may enjoy.

📚Imagine if you can record the dreams of other people , will it be an interesting task ??
Dropping down is the review of the first instalment in the trilogy . This book gave me a truckload of wonderful experience , finishing this book craved me to dive straight in the second book .

📚The protagonist , Gregory and Abby are at the center of the tale . Dreams are what Gregory does for living .His dreams made him perfect for the Aspects of dreams to choose him as one of the dream recorders when he passed from the corporeal world . The dream hub was the place where all the dreams were cataloged and stored for the aspect of dreams .There he encounters a young women Annabelle George and she is in the Afterlife .

📚Gregory helped Abby with all the questions that were pondering in her mind related to her After life . Gregory being her mentor is showing her around a new plane of existence and what it takes to be a Dreamrecorder , something unexpected takes place .They both are pulled to the Dreamscape out of nowhere with no idea how to get out from there .

📚Turn the pages to explore more about the story . The story will definitely keep you engrossed and will make you sit on the edge of the seat to know more . The title of the book is relevant to the plot and the the cover stands strong to fetch the attention of readers .

📚I am very much impressed by the authors imagination , the plot pulled me in right from the beginning and I was completely hooked till last . What a brilliant story , hats off to the fantabulous skills . His efforts are really appreciated . He has come up with a unique plot , the afterlife , catching others dreams and recording them .

I loved the concept and the characters even though the writing was a bit simple. It was like the book wasn't sure whether it wanted to be a short story or a full novel and got stuck between sparing details for length and filling pages to add more depth. I felt like it was leading to a twist that never came, few real stakes, and a couple plot holes that could've been explained better considering how intriguing the rest of the world building was.

Thank you to Goodreads for this free copy in exchange for my honest review.

I loved the idea of the book and the concepts within. I liked most of the characters. I just did not like the main female character at all. She did not feel like a real person to me where the rest of the characters did. The story was good and moved along well. I just can't get past how I feel about the main female character. I wish it were otherwise as I would like to see where the story goes from here, but I don't see myself reading the next book.

I love the way the relationship between Gregory and Abby was introduced. And I was intrigued by the past relationship between Gregory and Ninja. The ending left me wanting more because I honestly thought that they were going to destroy the item in question. I can't wait to read the next book!
