This guide is decent. It covers a lot of information with limited spoilers. The maps are fantastic. The bestiary and item lists are great.

However, it's insanely lacking in information for the Zodiac Job System, which is disappointing considering that's the main reason I bought this guide. There's no real layout of the grids. And it recommends you give Balthier bows and katanas and to give Ashe guns. That option leads to a well rounded party, but I felt the choices were a little out there and didn't fit the characters. I understand it's for a recommendation only, but it's still pretty weird.

Despite this guide being packed full of information, it really seems to be lacking in information for the HD Remastered features.

As far as Final Fantasy guidebooks go, this is one of the best formatted and the binding is just beautiful.

The guide shows you break-downs of the different job classes and give you suggested characters to fill each one and ideas of what classes work well with one another. It also shows you which Quickening and Esper slots will be beneficial to which class so you don't snag up when trying to fill out a specific license board.

There are minimal spoilers as it helps you navigate through puzzles and objectives as well as having a detailed side-event section at the back of the book that you can refer to (especially handy on Trophy Rare Game).

I have always loved Final Fantasy XII and also have the old complete limited edition guide which I have used a lot. Now I have bought the new updated game for the playstation 4 and using the old guide but then I could buy the new hardcover guide for 18 euros (20 dollars) I decided to go for it and it just arrived.

This has also the new job system in it and new drawings and artwork.
So tonight when I continue my travel though Ivalice I will have 2 guides to look through.

The first time I am playing this new job system I have gone for all jobs being used. My favourite so far is Basch who is an Uhlan and a time battle mage.
My team:

Vaan: Knight/Monk
Balthier: Foebreaker/shikari
Fran: Machinist/ Archer
Basch: Uhlan/ Time Battlemage
Ashe: Red battlemage and Black mage
Penelope: Bushi/white mage
So far so good but planning to play again after I have finished(If I am still in the mood mind you. Perhaps I want to play something else but it does not matter. I will always come back and replay my FF games.)

Update:
There is no index so when I am looking for for instance the map of the Cerobi Steppe I have to search through this big book?

Love the look but I do not find it that handy. That being said I bought it mostly for the new treasures and the new jobs so perhaps on another run I can use this book for the jobs. Now I am still using my old guide.

Conclusion: This book has all the new treasure chests. It explains the job system and gives you details on the license boards.

On the negative side it does not have an index which I find very annoying. It means if you want to look for a map you have to search through the book and it is not a small book.

My old final Fantasy guide even with its faults is souch better especially the lay out.

Disappointed with this purchase. My old strategy guide for the original PS2 release was way better than this version.
