Welcome to the land, where everybody has a nickname, hustle, and story to tell. Black is no different. Born into a world of poverty, he is determined to escape, refusing to let his story end in death or jail. With his nickname and hustle in hand, he will write his own story in the annals of street history. Roseland will never be the same.
I rate this book five stars. I found the characters well developed and relatable. I do wish Linda's character was looked at more in depth though. I loved how tough and dysfunctional Mattie was yet still came through for her children and grandchildren. The bond between main character Black and his sister Jasmine was unbreakable. The bond between little Man and Black was strong despite minor tests of their friendship. There were slight mistakes like at one point the spelling of a name was Tonya, the next it was Tanya but I wouldn't let that stop anyone from reading this story. Overall great job, easy to follow and clear and concise plot by Unique Penn so grab your copy today.
