It’s a dream job until it becomes a nightmare.

A few months ago, Keira was an aimless 23 year old, but her Nana changed all that. She’s inherited her grandmother’s psychic gifts as well as a massive fortune. But there’s a catch. She must carry on the work of shepherding lost souls to the next plane of existence. The order of the universe depends on her transitioning spirits through the veil.

It can be dangerous and scary as hell but so far, so good. She travels the world in style having spooky escapades with her best friend Gwen at her side. Sure, there are some close calls, but nothing these two women can’t handle.

That is, until the ugly part of Keira’s family rears its head.

Her grandfather has evil plans of his own, and come hell or high water, she’s going to help him.
Her choice—join forces with him or forfeit the lives of everyone she cares for. The man is unhinged, and will die to achieve his ends.
Or kill.

The stakes of her Heritage have become very dangerous, very quickly.

Loved the story and all the twists but have to be honest - Keira's attitude about "being loaded" and just throwing money around to get her way is annoying. Really hope she grows up in the next book. Gwen also dropped on my list of favourite people - her attitude sucked from the beginning of the book. But I am guessing this has to do with the growth of the characters (hopefully) Also, maybe the turmoil and stress of the job they do are creating tension in general. Still looking forward to the next book

Non stop supernatural excitement!

Yikes! I just discovered this series. Two chapters into book one and I IMMEDIATELY bought the entire series!!! Keira is a typical young twenty three year old. She keeps flitting from job to job unsure of what her passion might be. When she's kicked out of her acting school she gets the first shock of her life when her parents cancel her lease, but her off ave surprise!! They send her off to live with her maternal grandmother...that she never knew existed! Upon meeting her she learns of their gifts and her destiny. It seems she can see ghosts and other things. She and her grandmother are destined to help cross over list souls through The Veil. Trying to keep the world safe, and also getting rid of evil. Suffice to say lots of craziness happens along the way. Keira might be extremely powerful but she's also new to all this. On the job learning can sometimes be hazardous...but she's determined to help. Who can she trust? This entire series is full of twists and turns excitement and a few secrets along the way. In for I've hope she becomes every bit of what she's destined to become!

Another great story!

So, it continues....Keira, Gwen, and now Roy and Sean (Gwen's brother) are all into transitioning spirits and fighting evil. Drama is at it's highest, and evil not far behind. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next. I do wonder why the writer now describes Sean as Gwen's protector instead of the spoiled asshat Gwen thought him to be in book one. I guess because he now has a bigger role in the series.

Pure fantasy

You'd think that inheriting a mansion and 840 million dollars grow a Grandma she only knew for 2 weeks sounds like a cushy job. Yet she also inherited her work of moving spirits out of this existence into the next and a demonic Grandfather who wants to end life as we know it and also gain immortality....so this wasn't truly a dream come true for Kiera Light reading not exactly all that stimulating in regards to the brain, lol

Love this series

The author really knows how to write a great paranormal book...
I love the characters especially Keira...A woman who kept changing her careers and never ever accomplishing any of them...she is now taking over for her grandmother protecting the mystical veil...
This book finds us going all over the world and someone pulling the strings
I finished this book in 1 sitting that is how good it is...
Highly recommend

Power Grows but Friendship are Strained

This book made me a little sad. The heroines grandmother had a wonderful relationship with her guardian. He was like a servant, protector, and lover. But our heroine is having difficulties with her protector. I am disappointed in her protector, who was also supposed to be her best friend. The challenges are getting more difficult, but her support structure is getting weaker. She powers through, gaining personal strength.

Pretty slow start.

This had a great story line once it got started. It
did take a bit, though. Once the action kicked in
it was nonstop intriguing. Enjoyed the twists in
this book, characters were interesting, and I was
happy to see the return of one I really loved.
I'm onto the third book now.

Great series

There were a few editing errors, just a few. The storyline was a good one. I took off a star because of how cruel Kiera's guardian was throughout the book. She exhibited very little empathy even when you would think shed be grateful. When she does come around, it is because she has no other options. Otherwise, great sequel.

What a delightful surprise!!

Keira went from being a trust fund misfit to a vibrant, powerful woman who has it going on. Talking to the dead and helping them to cross over the Veil to the afterlife. But, as always, she has enemies who want her to stop her work. Loving this series!!

Loving these books

I was quite sceptical when I first started reading the mystical veil series, thinking they might just be for teenagers,a bit like twilight. However these books are so fast paced, that they keep you interested all of the way through and I'm going to start book three right now.

Brilliantly written.

Could not put this down,if I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it. Worrying about what was going to happen next.
The story has everything, from edge of your seat suspense to romantic episodes. Can't wait to read the next book and see what s in store for the ghost busting duo.

Couldn't Guess the End

Very few books can keep me guessing the finale but this one did. The encounters at the beginning set a great backdrop to the meat of this writing. Very intriguing and an enjoyable read.

2.5... maybe

Things solved so easily then it gets hard. Exponential power growth contributes to simplification of success at the crucial moments. Writing blah and would benefit from better editing.

Like the author, new to this one

Third book so far, love the authors style. Could be edited for a bit of clarity, a lot of names get thrown in all at once. A little more back history maybe, especially about GM would be could.

This was an intriguing story line. It kept me interested to the end. I could barely quit reading long enough to take a break. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series.

The plot was interesting and I enjoyed the twists. I felt like some of the characters lost what made them special. Gwen was so mean and Kierra didn't seem to have matured at all. Overall good book but not as special as the first one.

Mystical veil book 2

A few unexpected twists and turns in this book. Keira is still learning how to control her newly discovered talents as she manages to slip up on more than one occasion, putting herself and others in sometimes awkward or dangerous positions.

This is one of the best ghost stories I have read!

This series, so far, is filled with suspense and unexpected twists that will keep the pages turning. Add in the clever characters, the snarky humor, and potential romance, I want to keep reading more of these stories. Well done!

Book 2 definitely did not disappoint. After reading book 1 I had to continue to find out what happened to these characters. I enjoyed it just as much as book 1 and need to read the next one.

Oh so good!

Somehow I ended up reading before book 2 before book 1. It was witty and charming so I'm backtracking to the beginning of Kiera's adventures before I gobble up books 3 and 4. Absolutely delightful!
