***Review is for all three volumes in the series, read in a single sitting***

The new foil is cool and compelling. The tension in the club is evident, but there is no basis established for Jax and Opie, no compelling reason for them to be friends let alone devoted companions aside from 'sons of members' - which is thin reason at best.
Clay is more understandable, Gemma is better fleshed out, every other member of the club gets short shrift.
All in all this is a an episode or two arc in one of the less interesting periods of the clubs history.
Give me a book on the founders, or on the prospects left trying to survive after the whole leadership is wiped out.

I really enjoyed this, and didn't realize how much I missed the show until reading it. At first I thought this was the story of Jax's father, but it's actually the story of Jax at 18 years old when he first started as a prospect for the SOA. Jax is a problem child to see the least, and the club has enough problems when some stolen drugs end up in their lap and a very bad character comes hunting it.

Overall really good and a really good read for fans of the show who would love to see some new episodes. So while we don't get new episodes, we do get the next best thing. Fans of the show check this out!

Reading is different then what you see on the show.

First off I'm a hugh SoA fan, thats why I bought this title. But reading this book made me feel like it was trying to have the layers as the show. You don't get the sense of dread when you read this title like you did watching the show. But I will say it does help fill in some of the gaps in the mythos of the SoA universe.

I was really hoping this was actually going to be an orgin story on the formation of the club itself. Nope... Just the same characters, I'm guessing 10 years (or so) earlier. I don't see Jax ever being how he's portrayed, no matter his age. Not to mention its a storyline I just couldn't get into, that would make me want to read the next two volumes.

The only thing I could hold against this book was how quickly it went by! But it’s a 12 book series so I can’t complain! I’m hooked for volume 2! The characters all feel like their authentic selves. The pacing is exactly as I expected it to be. But the art, the art is amazing! I could stare at the covers in the back all day! If you’re a SAMCRO fan, this series is a must for your collection!

I loved watching Sons of Anarchy and had no idea that this existed until I ordered it a week ago. It was pretty good, but it didn't give me the same feeling the show did. I still plan to check out volume two.

I was addicted to this show so having extra stories is great. This storyline takes place before the show while Jax is still a prospect.

Loving the Jax prospect story with Opie. I am not loving the artwork, it’s hard to follow who’s who when the people all look similar!

Comic Book

Not bad for a comic book series a little pricey but it was worth it! Recommend with a 5Stars rating

This graphic novel is based on the t.v show SONS OF ANARCHY.
The story shows the first year of being a Prospect for Jax Teller. Jax has always had one dream in mind. To follow in the family legacy steps and join in his dad's club the Sons of anarchy. Jax is now 18 years old but still mourning is his dad's death. He's about to learn how hard the outlaw life is.

I was totally excited about this graphic novel, I totally loved the t.v show. The graphic novel doesn't disappoint at all. I loved seeing Jax has a young prospect, you don't really get to see that in the t.v show. I love how the novel is a little different from the show, it fills in that emptiness of missing the show. I loved the darkness of the graphics. I recommend it to all the people that love the show or biker bad boy's things.

Meh. Just not into the graphic novel format, I guess. Hardly any story, just pictures.

This was an amazing look at Jax before he was Jax. I'm having a blast seeing him and all the other brothers younger, and still learning, or not quite as jaded. There's some interesting background happening, that I appreciate. I don't want to spoil anything, so mum's the word. If you loved Son's you have to check this out.
