The demigods my mother sent to bring me back are all so delicious in their own way, part of me wants to go with them. But I know what awaits me.

Wasted potential

This book had so much potential but it just fell flat. There was virtually zero character development and zero relationship development. This was the least believable instalove I've read. The storyline was very interesting, but I did not connect with any of the characters and everything happened far too quickly. This really could have been an awesome book if it were longer.

Chaos

I spent most of this book angry. Like why did chaos get to screw everyone over. Why was everyone taking it? I dont think ive wanted another character in a book dead this bad since Sangs Mom. And she doesnt die so no spoilers. I just want her to

Mia Church is a new author to me. This book was recommended to me by a few friends so I took a chance on it and am very happy I did!! I really enjoyed the story, the characters, and the writing style. Harem of Chaos is the story of Calysta finding her true self. She has to has to go through hell and back to do it, but has some pretty great guys by her side to help her through it all. This is a RH HEA book and for a mature audience, with cussing and some very steamy romance. I am looking forward to book 2 in the series!!

It was very blah. A lot of sex (and not sexy sex), none of the emotions that I expect from a reverse harem book. Most of the times, there's a lot of love and protection. This just felt like, hey! You're hot. I'm in love. So are the rest of the guys. Let's all stay together forever!

One felt real. Just one. Honestly, knowing that, she should have stuck with the one.

Harem of Chaos is a new reverse harem by Mia Church. Calysta is the daughter of the Goddess Chaos. She's a demi-goddess who is forced to work for her mother creating chaos on Earth as a sex goddess. She's very good at her job, but hates it and everything else about her life except for her lover Darius. When he is ripped away from her, she decides she is finished doing her mother's bidding and takes off to hide on Earth. When her mother sends guards after her, Calysta tries to use her charms to win them to her side. Unfortunately, her own heart gets involved and her plans don't turn out as planned.

This book has potential, but it needs more development. Chaos was the most refined character in the book. Calysta's character was defined and we had a decent idea of who Darius was (at least as much as Calysta). The guards needed more flushing out. Alex, Xanthe, Periclese, and Theron needed more layers and depth. Poor Periclese barely made the cut at all. They also need to be more likable (and clean looking). Alex behaved poorly and I never felt any affection for him afterward. Xanthe was likable, but seems shallow. There was no connection between the men and Calysta other than sexual attraction. This is a beautiful demi-goddess we are talking about. She's been kidnapped by her mother's men. I can't believe there would be insta-lust or insta-love here. It was all too rushed. A strong foundation must be built for the harem to be believable. More story-telling would have taken this from an okay book to a fantastic one. I believe that the author could absolutely do this. Mia's writing is solid, she has a good premise, and there were several unexpected moments in the book that were well done. The descriptions of the houses prove that she can weave an enticing picture. Turn that talent on the men and the relationships and I believe that book 2 could be great.

I was pleasantly suprised by this book. I'm usually not a HUGE fan of "stand alone" novels within a series. The ones I've read in the past had a tendency to always feel rushed and leave me wanting more from that batch of characters. This one did NOT have that affect (much).

Callie is a demigoddess. She's the daughter of Chaos. A queen. A mean, unforgiving queen. She uses her children to do her dirty work. And I do mean *dirty*. The book opens with a brief glimpse into what some of that work looks like. And then you get to see the reason why Calysta has put up with it for so long and a first look into her 'weakness'.

The book does a great job of giving you a brief, but deep introduction into the characters and their motivations.

I really liked the places they traveled to. Glacier Nat'l Park and Fiji and (eventually) Russia. Great diverse selections. And well described in my naiive opinion (though I wish I were knowledgeable about those places).

I was quite surprised by a couple of the characters. I thought Theron would find a way to be included and, as a lover of Greek mythology, I always LOVE when someone gives Hades character more depth that his general stereotype.

I still wish we had maybe an extended epilogue/novella that showed some of how this groups relationship blossomed and grew. Though, I am definitely intrigued for the next one.

2.5 stars- I had mixed feelings about this book. I thought the storyline was unique. The characters were mildly interestingly but needed more depth. Anytime I thought the book was getting interesting and delving a bit deeper, the scene was cut short. I think that is my biggest issue with the book. The sex didn't bother me, neither does the whole reverse harem theme. My issue was the length. I think if this storyline was spread across a trilogy of books, it would have been so much better. Everything felt a bit rushed. The resolution was too quick and everything just fell into place a little too soon. With more expansion on the plot and characters, I think this book would've been so much better. Don't even get me started on how Pericles got the short end of the stick. He barely had any scenes. He saved the day multiple times, yet he was the only one of her 'harem' that didn't get any quality time. Could have been much better but way too rushed.

Calysta is a demigod, daughter of the Goddess of Chaos, forced to do her bidding and spread her chaos around. But when her mother takes away the last thing that ever mattered to Calysta, the demigod decides that she's had enough. Having nothing more but her own life to lose she goes into hiding. She does not remains hidden for long.

The story started out okey. The plot itself was intriguing. I didn't quite know what direction it was gonna take, but I liked how things played out, for the most part.
I just, I don't know, didn't care much for the characters. I was kind of emotionally detached from the story. And I didn't like how "easy" the relationships here were (if you don't take into account the general events). There was no hesitation with any of the characters, no uneasiness, no angst. No one even needed to talk things through. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it just did not work for me here.
So, overall, the story itself was okey, but it did not make me feel anything.

Not enough back story

I wanted to give this a higher rating but in the end I just didn't feel quite satisfied by the whole product. I loved the idea of the demigods and found their specific talents very interesting. But I felt like there was never enough back story to connect with any of the characters. I didn't understand any of the guys movies for helping her. Xanthe says that they felt bad for her but it wasn't enough. I wanted to know their full back stories. The ending was ridiculously anticlimactic and everything was way to easily resolved. Overall, I'm giving this a 3.5 because I did enjoy the world building but it needed a lot more fleshing out.

Great debut RH book!

Wow! If this is the first RH book we get from Mia, I seriously can't wait for her future books! This had a great story and enthralling characters...can you say demigods?!?! Just hot! But. Things didn't start out so perfect for Calysta. Her mom is Chaos!! And Chaos is tight with Hades! Geesh!
When Calysta meets the four men sent to take her back to her mom, things aren't really pleasant . But they soon come to understand each other and end up on a crazy journey. And the sexy harem - oh, my! Fun book! Looking forward to more from Mia!

Recommend (sassy and steamy)

It's a nice short read, I didn't skip over any sections and enjoyed reading this book. It had a nice, unexpected twist near the end that I didn't see coming which was refreshing :)

I really liked it but I found that I really wanted to see Periclese get his week you don't really get to know him or what he looks like under his baggy close. But that Is really my only issue with this book other wise I cant wait for the next one.

Excellent read

This book changed direction so many times it kept me guessing til the end in the best way. You are drawn immediately and then you get to know everyone slowly. I can't wait for Harem of Seas!

The intrigue was a little too rushed. Making relationship between the heroes seem superficial and pretty unbelievable. Too bad. I saw some potential in this story...

It was ok

I was hoping for more of a story but the main character is a $ex demigoddess. So the book is strongly focused on her interactions with her harem.

Good read

The beginning was kind of dicey but I found it to be an interesting read and I wanted to know what would happen next. The ending was good and I liked the MC.
