I was gonna read a real book and ended up reading Drarry fanfiction again.
But this was sooo fricking good.
Like we are so back.
My favourite iteration of Drarry has got to be brat tamer Harry x brat Draco, and this was literally that and more. I loved it so muchhh.
I tend to only read fics on AO3 only but I might have to change that because Chasing Draco was actually so so good. The fic follows a loose retelling/mash-up of Taming of the Shrew and is about Draco rejecting all his suitors and being extremely against getting betrothed to any of them. Lucius, who's having a hard time getting Draco married, hears about Harry Potter saving Draco when one of Draco's suitors gets extra frisky with him. He notices that Harry's interested in Draco and is able to handle his bad temper so he makes a deal with him that if Harry courts Draco and marries him Lucius will fund Harry's Quidditch team.
This fic had such a simple plot but I loved the story so much. The writing style was also so well written and it genuinely felt like I was reading an actual rom-com book. I also adored the characterizations of Harry and Draco. Even if it was OOC I love the trope of Draco being extremely prickly and a brat but also wanting to be spoiled and being a huge softie on the inside x Harry indulging him but knowing how to deal with his temper.
This fic was super fluffy and short with like a small amount of angst and was literally the perfect bedtime story! Absolutely lovedd all the tropes and the scenes between Draco & Harry, I only wish that it was longer and more drawn out in the end; I would've loved to see their wedding or their future with kids.
Overall, this was the cutest fic that literally checked every box for me and I read it in an hour. I LOVED Drarry in this one so much! 5/5 stars
