A girl wakes up to a strange version of Earth. Her parents are gone, she has no memory of the past week, and her brother calls himself by a different name--and these are just minor changes compared to what she finds outside. What's going on?

Ooooh, that was eerie. And really good.

It took me less than ten minutes to read Descent, so naturally I didn't fall in love with the characters or anything. I liked them, but basically... you get in, you get entertained, and then you get out. :D

The story was weird, mysterious, well-written, and captivating. Liked it a lot!

This story is quite interesting. I couldn't put it down until I finished it. Can't wait to read more of your stories, R. S. Oswald. :)

This was a very intriguing, imaginative short story. I was kept guessing till the end, wondering what was happening to this girl.

Naturally, me being the person I am, I wish it was longer. But to me, the longer the book the better, it has nothing to do with the stories.

I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This short story is both intriguing and different, using vivid descriptions and a surprising turn of events, the author pulled me in, and I loved it.

Descent is by R.S. Oswald.

This was an interesting story, but I wish there had been a little more to it. I liked the concept (very creative!) and I liked the writing style, but I just felt like there was something missing.

Still recommended if you are looking for a good, quick read. 3 stars out of 5.

5 stars! I was confused at first but as the paragraphs kept coming, I was pulled into the story, as short as it was! Excellent story! Read like a sci-fi thriller!

Descent is Raevyn Oswald's second short story. Personally, and surprisingly for myself, I enjoyed Sing A New Song more, but this one was still very good, and I nonetheless I enjoyed it.

I think, for being a short story, that this was pretty intriguing and interesting. I would have liked to see some more detail and more emotion being evoked and shown in the characters, but overall, I thought this was very good, especially for being a short story -- 1,000 words short to be exact, which seems like a lot, but it really isn't.

This was a short read that had moments of being confusing, but it was an imaginative and intriguing one nonetheless.

This was great! My ONLY complaint is that it read like the beginning of a longer novel. There is an ending, but it didn't "feel" finished. It felt like the prologue for a trilogy or something. This is not a bad thing, I just wish there was more! At the end I thought "...it's over already? Rats." I would love it if there were a sequel/longer book to go with it. Much, much better set-up world-building wise than some other series I've started/read/etc, and it didn't even take very many words to do it.

Also? The reference to the Sims was funny. I liked that!

4.5 stars rounded to 5 'cause I want more of this setting and storyline. Will our MC figure out what is going on and 'fix' things? etc. Recommended.
