Witch Myth: Wild Fire: Book 2 was a great read by Alexandria Clarke.Kennedy McGrath is banished from Yew Hollow and separated from her younger sister. She has no choice but to play dirty with the Summers coven. There is an age old curse that is bearing down on them and Kennedy teams with Gwenlyn Bennett to save the coven and her sister. I read this as part of the Super Boxset. Ms. Clarke has written a series of connected stories that are well developed, has great characters, and keeps your interest. I thoroughly enjoyed reading each one. The books in this Super Boxset are: Witch Myth: A Yew Hollow Christmas- Book 0-3 Witch Myth: A Yew Hollow Cozy Mystery, Book 0-3 Witch Myth Wildfire: A Yew Hollow Cozy Mystery, Book 0-3
Gwenlyn Bennett is an honorary member of the Summers coven, but has never known what it was like to have a blood relative as she had spent her younger years being tossed between foster homes. Imagine her surprise when she wakes up one morning to find a ghost hovering over her bed, who happens to look very much like her. Gwen soon discovers she had a twin sister that has died from cancer and is at her side not to find help with finding the light, but instead to give Gwen some guidance. A mysterious illness hits the Summers coven and the entire town of mortals of Yew Hollow have vanished. Can Gwen and the rest of the Summers coven find a cure before they all perish?
This book has two stories going at once. You not only have Gwen and the Summers coven trying to save themselves at Yew Hollow but are also introduced to two half-sisters that never knew they were witches and somehow are pulled towards Yew Hollow to help the Summers.
The author brings in a mix of paranormal elements, mystery, suspense, past hidden secrets, intrigue, and a struggle between good and evil. In some parts, the story seems to drag out, but once the whole picture of what is happening to Gwen and the Summers coven is uncovered, you are drawn into a story of perseverance, strength, and sisterly bonds.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This review is for the entire series. This box set contained all 9 books of the Witch Myth series. A little sidenote, they are out of sequence, so that was a little confusing. However A Yew Hollow Cozy Mystery series and the Witch Myth Wildfire series are more related as far as characters, where as Witch Myth A Yew Hollow Christmas is a sort of spin-off, but time wise it takes place between Cozy Mystery and Wildfire.
Over all a great boxed set. It's very light reading and the books are not very long. I would suggest to anyone with a long weekend or a holiday so it can be read quickly.
Traitors, secrets, revolt, and magic all combined to make an exciting read. Love the characters and the drama in the story. Evil against good, a classic theme, but it's presented in a wonderful story.
Another great book. I have greatly enjoyed this series. You get attached to the characters and the storyline. It had many twists and turns and kept me guessing until the very end. If you like a fast read and mysteries you wil enjoy this series.
The story was OK, not great. Details were lacking. And the editing was very sloppy. There were words missing in the middle of sentences, words misspelled, words misused, etc. Everyone should hire a good editor before publishing.
This is it. Apparently we have reached the last of nine books in the Witch Myth/Yew Hallow series. I enjoyed all three trilogies, and I am completely satisfied with the ending. No spoilers here! These are the best books that I've read centering on witches. Job well done, Alexandria Clarke!
Another short book in the series about a coven of Witches in Yew Hallow. A story of good over evil witch craft. This was a fast read, with an intense story.
