This book is mainly dealing with the rules and regulations based on the CENTRAL CIVIL SERVICES (LEAVE TRAVEL CONCESSION) RULES, 1988 incorporating latest updates but with a difference. The very purpose of this book is as the title suggests, to make aware of an average Central Government Servant in India about their LTC entitlements, some related complications and formalities, etc. It is not for the purpose of quoting the deleted and outdated Rules along with existing rules in a series as already mentioned in the Preface to the Book. It is because, when the author was in government service, particularly in the audit wing of the IA&AD, it was felt for a simple form of rule books which an ordinary person could understand easily. This book is written in that direction and not as a regular law book meant for professionals. Hence, it is reiterated that the main purpose of this book is only to make the reader understand with the subject applicable at the present situation. At the same time, references to rules and orders are given in this book which are absolutely necessary. Every effort is taken to include almost all aspects related to the leave travel concession rules as applicable to the Central Civil Service as on the dated of publication.
