then further back in time to the time of the Mongols in
. Just as she's finding happiness with the Mongols and her protector, Batu she's coerced into taking the meds that will move her through time again. This time she finds herself in the North with the Vikings. She also discovers she's pregnant with Batu's baby. She agrees to a platonic marriage with a gay viking who will claim her child as his. During a terrible winter with her new husband presumed dead she gives birth to twins. A boy and girl. Josie does everything she can to elude the mysterious Carter and stay with her children. She's tricked into drinking the meds that tear her away from her children and is transported to an unknown era in a warm southern climate. There she confronts Carter only to discover he's her son and he's been manipulating time to save her life.
