MacB is a reworking of Macbeth, transferred to the world of youth football. MacB is a determined young footballer who, with his best friend Banksie, hears a fairground prophecy that suggests that they will both in turn supplant Duncan King as the captain of the St. Dunstan’s team. With his ruthless mother behind him, MacB will do anything to ensure that the prediction comes to pass, and it does not matter who stands in his way. Friends turn against each other, people start to get hurt and MacB starts to crumble under the pressure as the prophecy plays out to its full extent.
Neil Arksey is a producer, scriptwriter and actor as well as the author of books for children and young adults. When he wrote MacB he was working as an actor at The Globe and giving workshops on Shakespeare’s plays, including Macbeth.
