Evy, quirky and fierce, capable of truly getting under a man’s skin, has the world at her feet, and after meeting Nathan, a sense of impending doom in her nightmares. Nathan is quiet and severe and the most beautiful thing Evy has ever seen, yet she keeps her walls up, certain that he's too good to be true. Nathan, so determined to disarm Evy’s shields, doesn’t notice he’s not the only man watching her.
Driven by obsession and the need to earn a dead man’s love and approval, John has a shackle with Evy’s name on it. His psychological break could be detrimental to everyone as family secrets long ago buried, slowly boil to the surface. As his captive, Evy must find her command over John. With her beauty, her ferocity, her sassy mouth, she bosses him, entrances him and drives him absolutely bat- shit crazy. John has only known love through captivity- Evy’s ferocity and demented sense of humor could be the light to his darkness... if Nathan doesn't ruin everything.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a standalone novel.
This book is amazing, I read it straight through. I had no idea of what I was getting into when I started reading it. This book is dark and has some triggers for anyone that has been assaulted or has been held captive.
I know I shouldn't have, but I felt so bad for John and the life he was dealt with. His poor mother, such a sad life. This book has tons of twists and I really didn't see the ending turning out the way it did. I was hoping John would get his happy ending and some help with all that happened to him. I loved the chemistry between Nathan and Evy, but it was brief and I felt it was rushed. You can tell the author is going to be a great one because of how easy I was able to suck myself into this book and read it in one sitting.
