This volume has two of my favourite Deadpool stories: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly (#15-19) and Dracula's Gauntlet.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly starts off this volume and it's a pretty heavy story. Deadpool learns about the person who has been abducting and experimenting on him. He goes for help from Wolverine and Captain America who initially blow him off but then end up helping him out. The plot takes Deadpool to North Korea where he learns some horrific revelations about himself which I won't spoil. It's a tragic story which has a lot of emotion. It's not the usual funny story (although there are a few funny bits in it). This one leans much more on the tragic side of Deadpool, as a lot of his best stories do.

After that, the second story arc collected here is Deadpool versus SHIELD. This story is a lot lighter than the previous one. It has Deadpool hunt down the SHIELD traitor who screwed him over by not paying him for taking out the dead Presidents in the previous volume. He goes up against a whole terrorist organisation named Ultimatum which ends with a lot of violence and ass-kickery. This arc also has Deadpool and friends find a new body for Agent Preston, so that she can get taken out of Deadpool's head and return to her family.

The last story arc in here is Dracula's Gauntlet. This was a lot of fun. Deadpool is hired by Dracula to escort his betrothed bride to him so he can marry her and bring peace between their two underworld kingdoms. The only problem is that Deadpool and the bride, Shiklah, fall in love. Dracula isn't too happy about that and sends his armies after Deadpool and Shiklah. This story had a lot of funny moments and it was really good seeing Deadpool find happiness after the first arc in this volume. Also, Shiklah is a great character. She had been asleep for centuries, so Deadpool gets to introduce her to the present day and help her adjust.

This is a 5 star Deadpool collection with three great stories with three very different tones.

Readable tosh. There is some funny work being done here. I particularly enjoyed Deadpool in North Korea taking out gun turrets on each compass point saying, "1... 2... 3... 4... I declare a real war." Still, I can't see that there is much here that is worth revisiting. It's gorgeously presented in this edition, though with an utterly unnecessary but fun miniseries about Deadpool doing work for hire for Dracula.
