This gorgeous hardcover book is what every flower lover needs to see. The photography is stunning and, by the way, the author's husband took the pictures!

This book is arranged by seasons and each of the 40 floral designs has careful instructions plus all the information you need to complete each design. The tips seem to be easy to follow. For a beginner or an advanced floral designer interested in doing floral arranging, this would definitely be the book to use. And it will look fabulous on your coffee table.

Thanks to the publisher, Chronicle Books, via LibraryThing for a copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Color Me Floral is a beautiful book where one floral design is more impressive than the next. If you are interested in creating unique and stunning floral arrangements, this is definitely a book you will want to own. Arranged by seasons, the author presents an array of interesting combinations using common flowers and some more uncommon elements. I love that she provides a step by step guide that allows readers to recreate all the arrangements she presents in the book.

The book focuses on monochromatic designs but, none of the arrangements were boring or dull. The variety of flowers and plants used by the author made the designs unique and beautiful. The amazing photography is another reason this book will dazzle readers. It is both gorgeous and practical at the same time.

After examining the techniques and suggestions of the author, I felt inspired to create my own floral bouquet. I let myself be inspired by what I found in my garden. Combining flowers such as roses with shrubs such as azaleas and colorful foliage and blooming trees I was able to create an interesting arrangement, unlike anything I had ever put together before. In fact, I think the most important thing I will take away from this book is the idea of putting together different types of plants to create something beautiful, whimsical and a little unexpected. So, if you are looking for inspiration, this is an excellent place to start.

Thanks to LibraryThing and Chronicle Books for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a coffee-table sized book that shows you step-by-step how to arrange bouquets. What I love about this book is that each bouquet has a clear color palette shown in a swatch format and the author has labeled each of the components of the bouquet so you really could go out with a clear shopping list and recreate the looks.

I think this book would be a really great resource for brides who need some help picking out flowers for their bouquets. This would give you a lot of options of flowers to browse to take a wishlist of favorite blooms to a florist.

The one thing I don’t like about this book is that all of the bouquets look really similar to each other—they are all similarly sized (huge, drooping with blooms) and a bit over the top. The aesthetic is like a garden where you let everything grow slightly wild, which I love. But I would have loved to have seen a little more variety in size and shape of the arrangements.

That said it’s easy enough to pare down. I love that so many of the arrangements include favorite flowers like peonies, ranunculus, and anemones but at least in my part of the country some of them are highly seasonal—I can only get peonies for about two weeks of the year. The author is based in California, so I wonder if she has access to more flowers throughout the year.

I received a free copy of this book.

Wonderfully written book with gorgeous flowers, colors and ideas. I loved how she used fruits and vegetables to make her superb floral arrangements. I love flowers and I was so impressed with the beauty of flowers coming to life with each picture in this book. I also loved the idea of dividing thr book by season, showing images and names of flowers used and the step by step flower arrangements. This book is necessary at every home. Flowers bring in color, scent, beauty and happiness.

Quite lovely in it's array of colorful bouquets, I oved the monochromatic focus, carried thru each season, that played around with what's possible for using a particluar set of branches and flowers at each turn of the year. Underwood does a beautiful job with her designs and inspires with lush photograhs on every page. Step-by-step instructions make it possible to attempt such, even if i doubt i ever will.

Absolutely stunning resource for anyone who loves flowers, looking at photos of flowers, or arranging flowers for the home. It's a thick, modern, glowing coffee table-style book that goes through every possible color of flowers and plants by season. Inspiring, easy to follow, and simple, this book is gorgeous and one that I've picked up to look at since I received it.

Absolutely gorgeous floral arrangements.

Well out of my price range to purchase, and 95% of these flowers would be ABYSMALLY hard to get here in Florida (most are more northern, and doubtless do not ship well), so this is more of an aspirational book in terms of flowers. Nonetheless, just stunning to look at.

A delight for the eyes! I love the way she photographs adding successive material step by step to the arrangement. Many of the flowers can be easily grown in gardens and some of the foliage can be collected on walks through alleys in my neighborhood. Her monochromatic arrangements are stunning, just as the title suggests.

Gorgeous photos, as others have mentioned. I would have loved to see the step-by-step (often repetitive or hard to distinguish) photos swapped out for larger images of the ingredients. I also appreciate seeing variety names and suggested alternatives when reading books about floral arrangement. This was fun to read and made a wonderful distraction from the February snowstorm outside my window!

Lovely color photography. Ranunculus or what I call buttercups are in every arrangement. Author uses flower frogs. Metal ones not glass as I would expect.
