Shapes All Around

Rate this book
Identifying shapes is a fundamental part of a child's development. Most of the time, shapes are introduced strictly by their geometric properties. In this illustrated, conceptual board book, though, brightly colored shapes are associated with forms found in nature, creating connections between mathematical concepts and the world around us. Young readers will enjoy pointing out the shapes in this book—and all around!

This book does a great job of showing shapes applied to the objects all around us. Could be very useful when teaching shape identification to the lower grade levels!

Muted colors paired with more uncommon shape identifications make this a stand out. I'll be buying for baby gift present.

A board book of black and white pictures with shapes being the only color in the spread. Nice simple images.
