One in a Billion

Rate this book
Dr. James Kent had it all, and lost the only thing that mattered - his wife and unborn child. They were victims of a rare genetic incompatibility that he discovered too late. He had passed the gene on to his baby, a gene that causes severe illness unless the child received two copies. His wife had refused to give up on their child, even after she became ill as the infant in her womb weakened. In the end, he lost them both.

After years of mourning, he had begun secretly searching for a woman who could carry his child. She needed to posses the same rare gene as him, and the odds were stacked against him. Now he's finally found her.

Jaynie Preston was a waitress with big dreams, always held back by her meager funds. She had gone to school to be a writer, against her parents' advice, and now she was a waitress. She had tried not to think much about children - deep down, she knew she wanted a family, but she’d never been in a relationship strong enough for that to be a possibility and she knew she couldn’t support a family on her small salary.

Then she had met Dr. Kent and everything changed...
