Snow leopard, Chameleon, Tiger, Fox, Snake, Bear, Horse, Deer, Fish, Rabbit, Frog, and Eagle. These are the 12 animals that Anitars can manifest into.
Nina, unlike her sister Kelci (a Rabbit) and her parents (a Tiger and a Fish), has never manifested, and ever sense a tragedy from her childhood, Nina has decided that she does not want to manifest and has given up on even attempting it. Fast forward to present day, and Nina wants to manifest because Kelci has been kidnapped and no one knows where she might be, and it sounds like other Anitars are in danger.
Now at the Muldoon Academy for a program that will help her manifest, Nina meets other teens who also want to manifest, and she will find a group of possible friends who might help her in her search for her sister.

ANIMAL is fast paced, fun, thoughtful, with a great deal of room for character development. I enjoyed seeing how each of the characters changed and grew up in the story, especially Nina. The plot was unique and well-executed. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next book!

I was given the opportunity to read a new book, ANIMAL by G.S. Banks. Have you ever wanted to harness the power of your inner animal?

I'm not normally a fan of YA series, but I have to admit I enjoyed ANIMAL. Banks delivers an engaging narrative in this character driven story. The main cast is well developed and readers will easily relate to their quirks and charms. The story unfolds under familiar terms, but the quick pace keeps the plot moving. Fans of Harry Potter and The Hunger Games will surely enjoy this read.

A lovely coming of age

Well-paced and genuine. Banks keeps the tension high and the emotions real while bringing us into the world of the Anitars and our courageous if self-absorbed teen heroine Nina. There is unexpected depth in some of the characters, especially the chatty Ben and foxy Heather.

And the stage is set. Epic battles await and we are guaranteed a bird's eye view.

Great read.

This book is excellent. From chapter one I found myself absorbed into the story. The writing flows and blends well !

The main character feels real, the plot is good and I love the fantasy elements of the story.

I am not all the way through yet, but I am avidly reading and looking forward to finishing!

Good job!

This morning I finished ANIMAL, a new novel by the lovely GS Banks. Initially I wasn't sure how much I'd like this book since I'm usually set in my romance and contemporary ways. The story follows Nina Gregory, the daughter of the British ambassador living in New York City. Her parents are both 'Anitars'. People who resemble and harness the power of one of twelve animals. After a traumatic experience with her best friend, Nina is positive being an Anitar isn't for her. That is until her sister, Kelci is kidnapped. The book is very fast paced and kept me guessing until the last page. I was so caught up in it that I swiped on my ebook only to find 'The End'. Talk about heartbreak. I overall really enjoyed ANIMAL. Thank you for letting me read Gillian! I can't wait for the next one!

Published by my internet friend and blogger, G.S. Banks, this book details the story of Nina Gregory, a fashionista born to parents with animal-like super powers. At first, Nina has no desire to follow the likes of her parents, but a sudden catastrophe begins to change her mind. ANIMAL weaves a tale similar to that of X-Men and Harry Potter, but flowers uniquely as its own narrative. I read it in one sitting!

Two things right off the get go...
First!.... I want Anitar powers!!!!
Second.... I want Anitar powers!!!!!
The writing was seamless, loved it! A complete joy to read and so addictive. I stayed up late, glued to the story. I had to know what was going to happen next and I loved that I didn't see what was coming.
Cannot wait for the next book!!

Review: (spoiler free)

I never expected to be so captivated by this story. From page one I was so intrigued about what was happening I didn't know what to expect and just like that, the whole world turn upside down and I was thrown into a roller coaster of emotions and it didn't stop until the very last page. It kept me guessing all the time, the tension was high, the characters felt so real I clapped every time one of them manifested, the battles were epic and the story was fast-paced in other words you need to read this book.

I know this is only the beginning but G.S. Banks has a lot to offer with this story and I'm in for the ride.

Warning:

Prepare yourself to be absorbed by this book. Buckle up!

3-4 Stars.

Great book and has some amazing promise to it. Looking to where it will go next after this book. If you enjoy the whole x-man style vibe where some people have special powers and then go to train with each other in a school then this book is for you. I would love some more knowledge on the different powers/skills as that’s the part that interests me the most. Overall a good book and I did enjoy reading it.

I wanted to like this book, but the story was not good enough to make up for all the grammar issues.

The plot was about how some small group of humans has the power to draw on animal powers, but in the part I read (the first 22%) it was just average teenage Drama stuff. Nothing about their powers at all. I have no idea even if they could turn into animals or just shared powers with them or something else. DNF

Very cool

I really enjoyed this book. The story is engrossing, causing me to stay up way too late and get far too little done. I really liked the characters also. I will be looking forward to the next book.

Original, engaging and entertaining!

You can't ask for more in a book. I could not put it down until I finished it. The characters were easy to care about and the story was full of adventure. I can't wait to find out what happens next!
