Zachary Allen is a rising pop star whose debut album hit the top of the charts. He sets off on his first international tour and he's living the dream. But he sacrificed coming out of the closet for the sake of his career. Gabe is a slam poet who is neither ashamed of being "the starving artist" nor of blatantly flirting with a celebrity. Their chance encounter on a flight to London makes Zach reconsider the choices he's made and whether he wants to come clean about who he really is.
Elliott Junkyard left behind a life of unfulfilling customer service drudgery to live in the mountains and write, make art, and grow an herb garden. It's working out pretty well so far. He writes queer books about queer people falling in love and sometimes those people are also pirates.
This is a lovely short and I really enjoyed it. Zach the pop star is a great character and I connected with him straightaway. He's "the next Ed Sheeran," apparently, and is just starting his first big tour. This is short and cute and kind of smutty and has nice depth to it. I see there is to be a sequel about Zach and Gabe, and I will definitely read it. This appears to be the author's first work and it's excellent. I look forward to reading more.
Lovely story... and I want more, this felt like it could be just a start. Along other things, Gabe's a poet working retail flying first class to London for two weeks - why and how? Hmm. And I want more for Zach.
And I just found out there will be more! Very happy about that.
Very short and very cute. Zachary is trans man, a musician, and Gabe a cis man, a kind of groupie, they meet on a plane. Both characters seem believable to me.
