I wanted to read a short biography of Hoover after reading about Elizebeth Friedman. This was probably a good one to read. It reminded me that that there have been other very troublesome times in our nation's history--the Mc Carthy era, the controversy over the assassination of JFK, and the accesses of Hoover in keeping files on US citizens.
