SERIES OVERVIEWThe Righteous Survival series is an epic tale of how the survivors of an EMP attack make it through the horrors of the ensuing societal collapse and begin to rebuild a livable society. It may be the most thought provoking EMP series you will ever read. It is a love story, a tale of hope, a tale of the American spirit and ingenuity overcoming obstacles. It portrays the best and worst of humanity. Told in graphic detail, it is both beautiful and gruesome. At times, you may set the book aside, not wanting to envision the truth of man’s cruelty. At other times, you may literally want to stand up and cheer at man’s ability to survive.Amazon Review, Book 5, “I’ve read all the books so far and the story just keeps getting better and better. The action scenes are great and even though there’s a religious theme, it doesn’t distract from the story. It all meshes together into a great apocalypse story. The characters are well rounded. Once you pick the book up it’s hard to put down.Amazon Review, Book 4, Kirk “This is just a great series… think “walking dead without the zombies…””Read all the reviews on Amazon and goodreads, even the one star reviews that don’t like a bit of foul language. This tale is epic, captivating and well written. All books have been updated to clean up the It is recommended that you start with Righteous Gathering, Book 1, but feel free to pick up any point in the story. It’s a free country. Additional editing has been completed on all the books in this series to refine the product from its original publication. The story has not changed but the final product is a much smoother read.RIGHTEOUS GATHERING, BOOK 1Mark Mays, the series’ central figure, witnesses the immediate effects of an EMP attack and takes action to gather his family to his remote farmstead in the Laurel Highlands of Central Pennsylvania. Excellent Christian fiction contemplating an EMP post apocalyptic world. Uncertain what is Van Sickel’s intent for the length of the Righteous Survival EPM Saga series, though Book 1 is an awesome start.
Have Book 2 in hand and will order Book 3 to have it on the ready.
Very appreciated to have characters who are faithful yet struggling as events appear to challenge their faith.
Thought provoking. What would life be like in the event of an EMP? The references to all of the Johnstown communities near where I grew up and where my family still lives was very cool. I did not enjoy the bad grammar and constant references to "druggies" and "bro hugs".
I am in Johnstown PA. The book takes part in the Johnstown and Somerset county areas. The geography in the book is correct and the characters are very believable. The premise is a real possibility. EMP is an electro magnetic pulse and it has the capability of setting people back almost a century in their thinking. Computer automated systems will not work. (The modern cars) Communications will be greatly disrupted of non-existent. People will have to think for themselves. This could be a problem for many people who rely on automation. Tim has a unifying thought and belief that the heroes and heroines trust. in. - - - A higher power. NOT the government NOT the military. but in a divine being and the basic good of mankind. he bad guys are very believable. They are driven by greed and power, much like the bad guys in real life today! I have now read three of the books. I cannot wait until the next one comes out. As a spoiler - I did shed a tear when two of the good guys died. I put the book down and went about my business for an hour and felt really bad. In the reading I became involved with the characters. That is the sign of a good writer. Tim does deal with the tragedy and the continued strife of the characters.
