This seemed thoroughly researched. How much you will enjoy the book depends on how much interest you have in Trnka, in puppetry, or in the history of Czech film animation. The early biographical portion may also be of value to those interested in WWII experiences.
I came to know Trnka via his work as a picture-book illustrators, which gets less attention here, although it is mentioned.
I really find Jiri Trnka such an inspiring and lovely artist. The detail and thought he puts into each of his work is beautiful and the final products are so worth watching. This book breaks down his most influential pieces and gives detailed accounts of each of them, as well as adding information from Trnka's childhood, etc. Truly an inspirational figure and an absolute pleasure to learn about!
