Mating Alliance #1

Tamsin's Conquest

Rate this book
In a far future, where Earth is nothing but a vast desert and what’s left of humanity lives in a world where the strong prey on the weak, headstrong Tamsin is in deep trouble for stealing water rations. Hunted down, she has no choice but to seek refuge inside the Agency, Earth’s interspecies marital organization.

What the Agency doesn’t know is Tamsin has no intention of going through with the match-making—she’ll flee first chance she gets.

Tamsin’s plans are foiled when she’s brought to planet Havlan, home of the Tellurian warriors, where she’s Claimed by a tall, golden warrior determined to make her his lifelong mate. Tamsin fights hard first to escape, then harder still to resist the powerful attraction she feels to the alien King Jareth.

And yet the hardest battle of all is not against the ruthless traitors set on seizing Jareth’s kingdom, but against losing herself to an all-consuming love.

Mary grew up in the quiet peace of a small rural village in the heart of Quebec, Canada.

She spent her childhood chasing butterflies and catching frogs, playing in the mud and generally being as unladylike as she could. Her love of science led her to complete a mechanical engineering degree at the Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal, where she met the love of her life.

Years later, as she enjoyed the role of full time mom to her two wonderful children, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a writer.

She now write as much as her busy schedule allows to bring to life her inner world, filled with exotic planets, mysterious creatures and off course, hot, alpha heroes and the women who melt their hearts.

When she's not writing, she can be found in the garden, walking her dogs or playing with fire in her kitchen as a part time hit-or-miss chef.

Tamsin was on the run from a family that she stole from. So she did the only thing that occurred to her, she went to the agency that set up human females with alien males looking for females to mate with and produce children so their race don't die out. Tamsin thinks this might be her way out of trouble but before she can really make up her mind the choice is taken out of her hands because once you sign up, you aren't given a choice of backing out.

She finds herself face to face with a huge, intimidating alien warrior who claims her as his. She tried to fight him even though she finds herself attracted to him. After a while she can see that he isn't going to treat her badly and they start to get to know one another and get along really well. There's a lot of sex in this book but since he's hoping to start producing children right away, I thought it went well with the story.

There's always something in a story like this where things are going well, to make things more dramatic and trying to stop a war between the different alien races and stop someone from killing you would be that drama in this book. Havlan claimed Tamsin who was supposed to be someone else's woman, so this other guy is pretty irritated but is he the one sending people to attack them? Guess you'll have to read the book to find out.

This was a fun, quick read and I enjoyed it.

More than just a female
I fell more in love with this book with every page I devoured. The characters are so intense and realistic with personalities and emotions that just draw you in. And the story is so exciting, full of danger, unexpected twists and turns, and a HEA that I will be sure to read over and over again. I really hope the author writes more stories in this series. I need to know if they catch the bad guy and if the rest of the women find their own HEAs.

This was insta-mate for the alien H. Unfortunately for him and me she had a number of TSTL moments. She was in great danger on earth, cleverly saves herself from danger by deliberately being transported to an alien world. The H sees her and that's if for him, she wants him too, then she runs away, another TSTL moment, putting them both into danger. She fights him constantly, he doesn't like it of course, she tries to reason, but ends up screaming at him. He just walks off, I would too.

providing an honest review after receiving a complementary copy from the author via BookFunnel.

I have read other book by this author and enjoyed them but this one was not good I did not finish read it.

this book was all over the place.

If she wasn't going to go ahead with being a bride why go in there?
She did not at anytime ask any question or state what she wanted or made any real attempts to have real communication she acted like a petulant child.

Once she was on another planet where did she think she was going to go? she had no idea how the planet worked the dangers and what just fluke stealing a spaceship she didn't know how to fly to go where? If she did not know how to fly a spaceship how could she navigate space to get back to earth and why would she want to go back to the horrid life on earth where people were waiting to kill her?

he behavior was crazy swinging from one extreme to the other fighting them acting like she missed him saying she wanted to get away then wanting to be seem as a equal.

I could not continue reading this one big thumbs down.

Fantastic book

Wow. The writing style of this author is so good that the story just pulls you in, unable to put the book down until the last page.
I am a big book lover and have almost 3000 titles on my kindle, but Mary's books are among my favourites.
The only small criticism I have is that there are a couple of editing mistakes, but even they weren't enough to drop my 5-star rating.
I just hope there are more installments in this series to come!
I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves aliens, alien worlds, romance and a healthy dose of hotness.

Tamsin and Jareth are mated but someone wants them dead.

Totally amazing story about finding love and two people trying to work through the different cultures between aliens and humans. Definitely will be buying the next book by this author. Highly recommended this first book in this series.

If you are interested in alien romance, then this book will capture your interest from the start. It’s about a human female and an alien who meet under unusual circumstances. There’s a lot of misunderstandings due to way the way they each think. But the heroine is no timid female and doesn’t hesitate to push back.

Tsk, tsk, tsk - whatever prompted Tamsin to think she could get away with her plans. I loved the determination, the spice, everything about this story stopped me from putting it down. Didn't get much sleep while reading this. Finding out that I'm still reading at 4.30 in the morning stopped being a surprise by night 2.
I have to have more books by Mary Auclair. I'm obsessed!

Very Good

I think the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is it was written with only the female point of view he gave his thoughts freely but as spoken only to her not thinking himself

The heroine gave me whiplash she is so contradictory. She was too stupid to live multiple times. The writing is over the top. The hero expects the heroine to know things she doesn't and punishes her for it.

Mature content, spanking
