Rock Wahlman: Forty-one years old, United States Navy Master at Arms, E-8, retired.
DOB 14 October 2057.
Grew up in an orphanage, recently discovered that he is the product of a human cloning experiment, an exact genetic duplicate of a former army officer named Jack Reacher.
Now someone wants all evidence of the experiment to be erased, which means that someone wants Wahlman to be erased.
He’s on the run, desperate to survive, desperate to learn the truth about why all this is happening…
The use of story situations and supporting characters from the Jack Reacher universe authorized by Lee Child.
Kill Shot: The Jack Reacher Experiment Book 4 is 18,000 words, approximately 85 pages.
The hits keep coming. Tight writing and an interesting premise and plot line are keeping me going. Rock Wahlberg is a fine character. The author writes like Lee Child.
A new team of hitmen is hired to go after Rock Wahlman. I’d like to think that it is unrealistic to find so many people in such a short time willing to murder someone for hire, but unfortunately, it is probably not. In either event, the result is the best novella in the series so far as civilian casualties mount and Rock has to fight not just to keep himself and his girlfriend alive, but her family as well. The ending is the best yet—both unexpected and totally satisfying.
not a bad read in general....goes quickly if not predictably. I wish the author or his proofreaders would tighten up.....two books in a row where they have referred to a marquee as a marquis......one is minor royalty, the other is a sign....just sayin
You can't get from Monteagle to Nashville in an hour. Sorry to break it to you. Here's another complaint from me about dynamics of location and sourcing.
This is another novella. Not a novel. Definitely not a book.
I feel like this was an exact duplicate of #3 but in a different town. I'm going to read the entire series, because, undoubtedly, I'll miss something magical.
Also, why did he not love Allyson after two days but Kacy after one day? Because Kacy slept with him? What's that BS about.
Also, now that there's no Mr. Tyler and we've inherited a new guy (now minus that guy) why are we calling these alter villains (the ones that come in krewes of three) by "red shirt" "grey vest" "white hat"? I feel like they should have names like Shnoz #1, Eyebrow Guy, etc.
What can I say that I haven't said already with the first three books in this series? Yet again, another very quick read. An excellent series for anyone who is behind in their yearly reading challenge. The story continues, our intrepid hero continues to dodge professional hit-men and burly local yokels who seem gravitated to him and hell-bent on becoming physical. The body count rises as he tries to protect his new love interest and her family from the super-secret government agency out to kill him and everyone associated with him. Onward to the next book, where I'm sure there will be more of the same.
“Kill Shot”, fourth in the 'Jack Reacher Experiment', marks the end of the line for me. Rock Wahlman is on the run from overwhelming odds but insists on putting both himself and Kasey in danger at every possible opportunity. He should die several times but doesn't and, at the end, a locked room murder is so completely implausible that I laughed incredulously. The series as a whole wasn't great but this particular episode is wojus (Dublin, Ireland, slang for something of low quality). 1 Star.
Jack Reacher Experiment # 4 Rock Walman is a Jack Reacher clone, part of a US Army experiment using cells from 100 years ago (Jack Reacher's cells) The other clone has been killed by someone in the Army trying to erase all records and evidence of the experiment. This is set in the future, not quite dystopian, but definitely a throwback (no cell phones, teleportation has been banned)
Rock Wahlman's existence is one of constant surveillance, one misstep, one judgement or error could be fatal. The clock is ticking for Kasey and him. Now her daughter and her parents life could be at stake. This is an extremely fast paced read!! Enjoyed immensely!!
The book maintains your interest throughout. You must keep in mind it is fictional and disregard small parts of it. It is as its intended to be and based on the Reacher series.
Another installment in the extended Reacher Storyline. Direction and misdirection adds spice t to every mystery. This story fits the Jude Hardin formula with action, violence, and suspension.
