If you've read the first book then you know Elijah and Mila ran away together, which left Jared in a tight spot. (You don't necessarily need to read them in order but it helps.) He needs a bride in order to ascend as the new Alpha. Jared notices Alyra for the first time and sees how attractive she is, she let's it slip that Elijah is her brother. Alyra has always been secretly in love with Jared, so when he decides to claim her for reparation, she thinks he's joking at first. Will this become more then revenge an a way to ascend as Alpha for Jared? Or will Alyra be accepted as Lupina even though she's an Omega?
I actually read this book first and wasn't too lost, but I did go back and read the first to better understand the story. Apparently the live by a class system and Omega's are pretty low on the totem pole, which is why its such an issue for Jared or Mila to be with one.
I really loved this book, as well as the first and I recommend reading both!! I look forward to reading more about the Sundown Pack and a tease is left at the end about the next in the series!!

Jared is very angry since his fiancee told him she was mated to an Omega and was leaving the pack. Jared is an alpha wolf and is supposed to become the next pack alpha but to ascend, he must be mated. Angry that his plans are ruined, he storms to the stable where he notices the omega Alyra working with a new horse. He is stunned by her beauty but then he notices a resemblance to the omega who mated his fiancee. When he finds out Alyra is the sister to the other omega and that she knew about the relationship, he is even madder. Then he decides she will be the solution to his problem. In reparation for her brother's actions, Alyra will be mated to him in time for him to ascend.
Alyra has always wanted Jared but an alpha is beyond an omega's touch. When Jared declares he will mate her, Alyra is thrilled but knows it will never work. He might want her for the night but he will come to his senses the next day. Besides, his family and pack will never accept her as Luna
and his mate.
This is a good book about a couple nobody thought should get together but ended up meant to be. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

With no mate he needs to find another and soon so he can become the pack's alpha. Alyra has secretly been in love with Jared for a long time and she lets it be known that Elijah is her brother. To have revenge against Elijah he chooses Alyra as his mate and becomes the pack's alpha. But what happens when his thirst for revenge diminishes? Will he still want her as she is not an alpha? This is a fun, short read by Aria Chase. If you haven't read the first book about Mia and Elijah - do not worry as this can be read as a standalone. However, to appreciate all the characters and incidents it is better to read them in sequence. A great storyline with characters that will grow on you. A HEA for Alyra and Jared? You will need to read this page turner. Definitely recommended

I do not normally read this genre but this one amazed me. I did have to read the first book in the serie before I could understand what happened. So this is not a standalone. Read the prior book first.
Jared is seeking for a mate. He has to find her before he can become Alpha for his pack. Alyra is from another pack and Jared can take her as a revenge towards her brother and then dismiss her but he does not know that fate has other plans.
A great story line and plot. Liked that there was kind of an update on Mia and Elijah from the previous book. There is chemistry and passion between the main characters. They develop through the story. Like the theme that if you leave your revenge to itself you can be healed by the right person.

This book deals with Jared, a wolf who is weeks away from become alpha. Laws state Jared must take a mate and when his betrothed runs away with an omega, he decides to take the omega's sister Alyra as his mate. Alyra works for Jared's family as a horse trainer and is seen by Jared's parents as unworthy because she is an omega. Jared's parents demand he sign an agreement that the marriage will be temporary and once he is alpha, he will pay her a settlement and make Alyra relocate, only Jared wants to keep her as his mate. This was a quick story I really enjoyed. I will be looking for part 3

Too short and too quick

Who's the real ex-fiancee : Mila or Elise ? Both names came up, but I believe its Mila because the first book says so. I hope the proofreader didn't neglect that part or better yet corrected that part.

I wish the story is a bit longer. More character development between the Jared and Alyra - their relationship blossoming towards a solid HEA. As well as more character interactions between Jared's parents and Alyra as well as some pack members. But overall, this novella is very promising. I really wish there was "more" to it.

Pack politics makes the situation so much more challenging for the future Alpha, Jared who's left in a predicament after his arranged bride leaves with her mate and loved Omega, putting his ascension at risk. He seeks justice through pack traditions by mating with Alyra who has secretly loved him. Not only are his parents against this and scheming to discredit Alyra, but the pack is also against this union and he is challenged. Will Alyra be able to save herself and Jared?

I loved this book! Spectacularly written storyline that kept so hooked to my kindle that I could not put it down until the very end. Jared and Alyra are wonderful characters with great chemistry. When Alyra's brother runs off with Jared's fiancee, Jared wants Alyra to replace her so he won't lose his soon to be place as alpha. Will they forge a real relationship or are they doomed? Pick up this wonderful book an find out!

In the previous book the main female is called mia but in this book as Elijah's mate she is called Elsie has this book been properly proof read .because if it had that should have been caught before the book went to print

There are inconsistencies between the two books in book 1 Elijah's mate is called mia and in this book she is celled Elsie I don't think that this book has been properly proof Read

That’s the end? WTF is that?! Don’t get me wrong, I loved the book. I loved Alyra and Jared’s story and chemistry. This was a quick and steamy read. My only complaint is that I want more! I definitely recommend thus book. It appears the next book in the series will be just as good. Happy reading!

This was number 2 in the series and despite my late review, it was well worth the read. It tells of Jared's need to be Alpha and take a mate, only at first, she is not the choice he wanted. Alyra is an omega who has always loved Jared from a distance and now they need to forge their relationship, for Jared to be the next Alpha and have his mate accepted. They face trials but get there in the end. :)

All through the book I was wondering if it would end up in HEA. It's a great book to curl up on the couch or in bed at night.

I am a fan of Aria Chase and this one fit in with her other books. For this one I liked the female lead but the male lead was lacking a bit in apeal. Story was a bit short which I'm starting to get is just aria chase's style.

I really liked this one, especially the way that Alyra and Jared couldn't deny their passion for each other despite the circumstances and differences in their positions in the pack. Great HEA and a steamy passionate romance!

Jared's betrothed mated and ran away with an Omega...now Jared had to find a replacement so he could ascend to Alpha of his pack. He decides Alyra, is it, she is the Omega's sister after all, and can be used as reparation for her brother's actions!

I really enjoyed this book! The writing is really good and it has a good plot. The characters are interresting and scenes are hot.
I would recommander reading the first book to get the full story, but you don't have to to understand this book.
