I. Loved. This. Book!! What an amazing read. Heartfelt and heartbreaking and happily ever after all rolled into one. Nate and Ella share one hot night together. Until Ella discovers Nate's secret. But that night brings Ella something she never expected. Max. Can she share him when Nate re-enters her life? This was a rollercoaster of feels. My heart soared. It broke. It worried. And it soared again. The story shows the joys and struggles of parenthood, the hardships of shared parenting, and the importance of family. I can't say enough about this one. It will be one I re-read over and over!
Wow my heart is in my throat tears are streaming down my face what an unbelievably emotional book. I've loved everything Holly has written so far and this book is . No exception everything Ella and Nate go though to be together is utterly heartbreaking but the strength they show to help each other threw is heartwarming. Well done Holly Webb this book is incredible and I can't wait to see what's next from you. 💝 X
My thanks go to the author for the ARC of this book.
I've read previous books by this author and enjoyed those, so I was pretty sure I'd enjoy this. Sharing Max is a lovely written, sweet contemporary romance. The underlying message being love. And whilst reading it you can feel that the author has put a lot of love into it.
Sharing Max sees Ella and Nate meet whilst on a night out. There's instant attraction between them and one thing leads to another and they end up at Nates apartment. Only, in the morning Ella gets more than a little surprise revelation and hightails it out of there. Its only a short while later she realises that you can't run from your problems and is left with a permanent reminder of her and Nates one night together. Her son Max.
But just as she starts to come to terms with being a mother, life hits her another curve ball when Max is diagnosed with Autism. Ella knows that life as a single mother is going to be hard but vows to give Max the upbringing he deserves. However when Ella buys a property for her and Max, she never could have envisaged that it would bring about ghosts from her past in the form of Nate. Life is about to get a whole load harder.
Once I had started this book, I was very hard pressed to put it down. It's sweet, its romantic, it's very moving.
The characters were great. Ella was a typical mother trying to protect her son from harm and so I really sympathised with her. Nate was cute, I would have liked him a little more alpha, however i think his character suited this story well. The background characters really rounded it off nicely.
I really enjoyed it. I look forward to more by this author.
Imagine a one night stand changing your life forever.....
Ella was a girl who didn't believe in one night stands, but when she met Nate she was drawn to him and all logic was lost. The night ended with her realizing she had made a huge mistake and running...but then her world was turned upside down when she realized she was pregnant.
The moment their lips met, Ella felt the world disappear. The rain, the sound of the New York traffic, none of it seemed to matter anymore.
Four years later Ella has her life figured out, she just bought a new house for her and Max. She meets the neighbors and she knows her life is going to change because she has just seen Nate for the first time in four years....
She doesn't realize how much her life is going to change once Nate comes back into her life, the question is will it be for better or worse? She knows she can't keep Max from Nate and she doesn't really want too. She wants Max to know his dad and she wants Nate to know him.
“Please don’t cry,” he breathed against her ear. “It hurts my heart to see you so sad.” “I’m okay,” Ella sniffed as she pulled back from Nate.
I loved how great of a mom Ella is to Max and she always put him first even before her own feelings. Nate was amazing as well, he was such a great guy who loves his family and wanted everyone happy and safe.
This is a must read!! It has all the feels!! You'll definitely want your tissues near by too!!
This romance story of Nate and Ella was the stuff real life was made of. Yearning for a love, and finding it, losing it, then realizing life has dealt you the raw deal by being so close to the one you crave, but no dice.
Nate and Ella met briefly, but the impression was to last for a lifetime. After being separated for years They find each other, and life seems to be so unfair to them. Why did it have to turn out this way?
Nate in the position he was in with his personal life, and Ella reuniting only to have that carrot dangled in front of her, and unable to be with Nate.
One of the most glorious parts of the story was the perfect love that brought them together. Max. He was precious. You fell in love from the very first moment Max entered the picture.
Both Nate and Ella went through many challenges in their relationship, but sharing Max was heartfelt, and beautiful. The one thing that brought them closer.
The storyline was amazing, and the characters were like family. You didn't just adore Max, you loved him, and everyone else. Max was the glue that held love together, proving that love, family, and forever was precious, and worth fighting for.
What a heartfelt, and touching story of two people, sharing Max. He was a special child, and stole your heart.
Ella broke her golden rule. Never pick up a man in a bar! Gorgeous, sexy Nate swept her off her feet. After a one night of hot, sizzling sex, Ella runs after finding out Nate's secret. Four years later, Ella and her four year old son, Max, move into their new home and guess who the next door neighbor is. Yep. Nate, his wife and two daughters. Could things get any worse? Sharing Max will captivate you from the first page and send you on an emotional ride as Ella and Nate's worlds collide and start spiraling downwards. A forbidden love and desire between two parents sharing their love for their autistic son. One not wanting to be a homewrecker and the other in a dead marriage. Parents protecting their children at all costs. Another endangering their children in order to win. I would recommend this book. I'm volunteering an honest review for an advance reader's copy.
This is an ARC review. Careful of spoilers, I really tried to keep the spoilers out! Sharing Max is a modern day romance. One night of pleasure with a stranger = pain, love, a baby, and uncertainty. Emotional book with lots and lots of ups and downs. Becoming a single parent and the heartbreak of an uncertain future with a child who is special. Finding the strength to raise him alone and give him everything he deserves and by chance ending up finding the stranger that helped make it possible to begin with. It's a story of becoming a family and the obstacles that come with it. This book broke and uplifted my heart getting to know Ella and Nate's story.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
What a beautifully written story! I absolutely LOVED it from start to finish. Holly Webb took my heart, shredded it, yet pieced it back together.
Sharing Max is a story of breaking rules, and heartbreak. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to throw my kindle across the room. But in the end, I'm ecstatic.
This is the story starts when Ella breaks a rule of hers. Never leave a bar with a guy. But she's super attracted to Nate, who she meets their. They both have a pull towards one another. However a misunderstanding occurs and Ella runs from Nate. But they share a common bond forever, Max. When Ella discovers she's pregnant she's scared, yet she becomes the mom Max needs. And her family I fell in love with them. I LOVED how supportive everyone was.
Nate doesn't know about Max, until he discovers that Ella has moved in right next door. He sees Max and knows he's his father. How will Nate react when he learns his son is autistic? Will his 2 daughters accept Max? And what about the secret that tore them apart? Will it come back to haunt them?
Nate & Ella's story is a definite must read, beautifully told, but have those tissues handy, cause life isn't always easy.
*I voluntarily read an ARC from the author, this is my honest review.*
I chose this book because I am always interested in anything to do with autism. My youngest son is autistic so the character of Max was such a big pull to me. Although my son is now 25 years old I always compare tks to him. The story was very involved and had a lot of twist and turns. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
What a great story! I loved every part of this book. This book made me laugh, smile, want to pull my hair out, cry, and melt with affection. This is the story of Ella and Nate who meet and don't expect to find what they find with each other. Then a misunderstanding happens and they lose each other for some time. But there is one thing that brings them back together, their son Max. Nate doesn't know about him for the first few years of his life. This boy is special. He teaches so many people about love just by being him. He is a boy with autism. This book shows the ups and downs of raising a child with special needs. But it also shows just how wonderful and special every child is. I just wish that every child had parents as wonderful as Nate & Ella. I enjoyed their story. I rooted for them against their enemies, even if it was their own thinking at times. I don't want to give too much away. This book is great from start to finish. I highly recommend it. But have tissues nearby! The tears aren't just sad ones.
What a fantastic contemporary romance. I loved Sharing Max. This book has it all. Romance. Action. Real life situations. It will break you and put you back together again. Ella is a sensible young woman with her own business and a small apartment. She is badgered into a night out with her best friend and meets the man of her dreams. After one night of pure passion she discovers he is not what he seems. Ella runs. Nate. Hot doctor. Out for the evening. Bumps into a gorgeous woman and has a wild night of passion. However the next morning she runs. Ella discovers she's pregnant and brings Max up alone until she meets Nate again......... Find out if they can get along sharing Max. Amazing read. Loved every page.
Sharing Max, by Holly C.Webb. What an amazing book! All the emotions I felt when I read it!
In the beginning of the story, I felt it was a bit forced. But luckily it flowed better the longer I read. It contains some twists and turns I didn't expect, but I really enjoyed them! It's not the longest review, but I feel if I write more, I will give away spoilers!
It's a sweet and heartwarming story full of love and family! "Remember, family takes care of family!"
I thank the author for providing a copy to voluntarily review.
This book made me feel every emotion and I will always carry this book in my heart. It is one of the best books I have read to date.
This book made me feel all the emotions associated with having a child on the spectrum. The denial, the tears, the happiness, and most of all.. the fears. This book was spot on. You could feel all the emotions experienced by Ella and most of all Max.
Wow Ella and Nate - such a sweet love story. Some parts made my eyes teary but the love that poured through was overwhelming. And Max and the girls were just adorable. Holly Webb has written another fantastic love story. She is a permanent one click author for me.
This is an amazing book by an amazing author. The emotion and the great story with it will have you reading this book in one sitting, and going back to read it again. A definite one click must read book in my opinion.
wow sharing max was amazing had me hooked from the start couldnt put it down , nate and ella share one night of passion then few weeks later she finds out she expecting max four years later she moves house turns out she is nate next door neighbour nate finds out he has a son he never knew . i highly recommend holly books they will have you hooked
I often read books and just enjoy the story but this book, I was blown away. The characters were well developed and the storyline held me captivated throughout. I went through so many emotions, happy, sad, heartbroken to elated. You know you've discovered a fantastic author if you live every word and that's what this book did to me. I recommend everyone to take a chance on this awesome book because you won't be disappointed.
The plot had a lot of promise. I really loved the sound of it. The execution wasn't quite what I had in mind, though. There’s also several grammatical errors where the adults talk like children. Ella and Nate met one evening and although the sparks are off the chart, Ella discovers something about Nate that sends her running in the other direction the next morning and they don't meet up again until nearly 4 years later. The chemistry is still there and now Max is part of the equation. I liked Ella a lot, she was a smart and independent person who did everything for her son. As for Nate, he had some great qualities, but there were too many man tears on his behalf for me, which made him seem so beta male. Not to mention that he is a trauma ER doctor, so he should be better equipped to handle stress and to control his emotions. I felt like Ella was the stronger one between them. Also, it was bit too insta-love for me. The story does get rather dramatic, but ultimately ends well for Ella and Max so I'm glad they were able to find their happiness with a family.
A beautifully told story that captivates you from start to finish. An amazing storyline that flows easily, an honest portrayal of an uplifting love story that unfolds, interwoven and beautifully done.
The characters are so real to life and honest with their emotions and more than anything it feels real. Descriptive and concise language, the dialogue between the characters is clear and convincing. Well written and edited, to the point and completely relatable. I absolutely love the author 's writing style. This book takes the reader on an emotional journey where you are able to connect each character.
I have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this book. A MUST read. Thank you HCW 😀
Sharing Max was my first book by Holly C. Webb. I couldn't WAIT to read it once I found out there was a child in it.
I thought it started off strong, but eventually I found myself skimming whenever there wasn't a child present. This story certainly made me feel ALL the feels. I was even crying while reading at work I got so worked up. I don't want to really go into detail so I don't spoil anything. I just wish I got to spend more time with Ella and Nate when they first met. It would've helped me understand their feeling towards each other later on.
I would like to read more from Holly in the future.
Possibly a little harsh with only 3* but I found Nate to be a little weak willed for a hero and a due actor that was never at work. Ella was stronger as a heroine but very easily led. A good read though
Sharing Max was just everything. I honestly felt for Ella being alone raising a special little man like Max. Although her Family Is amazing in always supporting both of them. When Max called Nate daddy ugh that just opened the water works!😭 jTruly an amazing read!
I found the writing clumsy without the use of basic contractions. Using ‘I will’ and ‘I am’ and so on instead of their shorted form is unnatural and made reading more laborious.
