A Higher Reality: Manifestations of the Unseen

Communities have always held some notion of unseen realms regardless of religion or culture. However, the modern age - an age of extreme materialism - is an anomaly in this regard with its systematic erosion of such ideas from the very psyche of man. People are finding it progressively more difficult to comprehend realities that exist beyond the framework of the physical world and how they tie in to the familiar material dimension we have become immersed in.

'' When Friday comes, angels stand at the door of the
Mosques, recording the order in which people enter,
the first ones first. Once the Imam sits on the pulpit,
they fold up their records and enter to listen to the
remembrance.''

This unique book seeks to take the reader through various unseen realms that exist outside, or alongside the physical reality we experience. Drawing from the rich Islamic Tradition the author begins to unravel the various worlds of dreams, angels, demons, spirits and how man has experienced these realities throughout the ages.

'' One of the architects involved in maintenance and
repair work at the Prophet's Mosque, the Egyptian
Tariq al-Sharif, reports that in 1406AH he was with
a group of men working on the rooftop of the mosque
and they had all stopped to pray the maghrib Prayer,
after which they had sat down to rest. He was over-
taken by light somnolence and saw that he was sitting
in a circle in the Prophet's presence. Someone was
going around serving dates, milk and coffee. When it
was his turn, he was overjoyed to hear the Prophet,
pbuh, say, ''Serve him, for he deserves more.''

Witnessed by the Prophet, pbuh, the reality in question was alluded to in his saying, "God has ninety nine names, one hundred minus one; whoever enumerates them will enter paradise," a precise reference to the mathematical reality that is the secret of the cube and corresponds to an incomputable multi-fold cosmic reality of infinite periodicity. Dr. Mostafa al-Badawi is a consultant Psychiatrist and member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He studied under many shaykhs, foremost among whom is the late Habib Ahmad Mashhur al-Haddad. Dr. Badawi is also one of the leading contemporary translators of Islamic books from Arabic to English, and his work includes Book of Assistance, The Lives of Man, Key to the Garden, and Degrees of the Soul.

About the author

Dr. Mostafa al-Badawi is a scholar of Islamic sciences as well as a consultant Psychiatrist and member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr. Badawi is one of the leading contemporary translators of Islamic books from Arabic to English. He has translated the 10 treatises that constitute the complete prose works of Imām al-Ḥaddād, Key to the Garden by Habib Ahmad Mashhur al-Haddad, The Degrees of the Soul by Shaykh al-Shabrāwī, and a collection of Bā-Alawī treatises recently published under the title Spiritual Insights.

الدكتور / مصطفى حسن البدوي ، ولد بالقاهرة عام 1948م ونشأ بها. تخرج من كلية الطب جامعة القاهرة تخرج الدكتور مصطفى حسن البدوي بكلية الطب، جامعة القاهرة، عام 1971، ثم سافر إلى بريطانيا حيث حصل على زمالة الكلية الملكية للأطباء النفسيين بلندن سنة 1983. ويعمل منذ ذلك الحين استشاريا في الطب النفسي. أخذ عن كثير من العلماء من من الأزهر الشريف وفي الحجاز، وله إهتمام خاص بالسيرة النبوية، وعلم النفس الإسلامي، ومظاهر الحضارة الإسلامية في مختلف بقاع الأرض، وعلامات آخر الزمان ومدى تطابقها مع تطورات العصر الحديث...

Highly recommend every Muslim to read this excellent book on the subtle realities of the unseen realms that have been related to us by the Prophet (pbuh) and those who follow him. Dr Badawi is always a pleasure to read.
