4 unexpected stars
This was my first novel by Cherry Shepard. Entombed is the first in her new series that had my head spinning from the very beginning. While this may sound like a love story, trust me when i say that it's anything but. It makes you questions exactly how far someone will go for revenge, redemption and just exactly what was going through this author's mind as she wrote this story! And i say that in a good way.
This is somewhat a dark read (at least for me) and with a cliffhanger of them all that make me antsy to find out what was to happen to these characters that were brought together by circumstances. I look forward to finding out what is to happen to Shy and Gabe in the next book.

I have been waiting patiently for this novel, and when I say patiently I mean painfully patiently. So when it hit my Kindle I was all kinds of excited.
Now sitting here my thoughts are this......What in the actual hell did I just read?
Gabriel is one dark and twisted soul. Losing his one love has broken him. It has stripped him bare. It has crushed his core. So the only one thing he now strives for is revenge.
He will seek the ultimate revenge.
They will pay for what they did.
They will pay for taking away his everything.
He will seek them out, hunt them down and destroy them one by one.
But a chance meeting with a beautiful woman will change everything.
She will change his thinking.
She will change his everything.
She will be his ultimate game changer.
Her name......
Shy.
Guys this novel is nothing short of dark, raw, gritty, gruesome, gut wrenching and all things stomach churning and I couldn't get enough.
Reading it in one sitting it completely blew my mind. I was transfixed, hanging on to every word. I was like a sponge soaking it all up. And lets not forget the kicker.....
Guys you are in for one hell of a ride, because you will not see it coming.
Not everything is what it seems.
It will leave you speechless.
I WANT MORE!!

Where do I begin with reviewing what I just read... totally different from anything else I've read from this author, I love, love, love the new direction she has taken! This was dark, disturbing and totally captivating.. I devoured the story pretty much in one sitting and was on the edge of my seat trying to second guess what was going to happen next! Bring on book 2... automatic one click series!!

I went into this book totally blind of what to expect and as i'd never read anything before by this author and so I was totally taken by surprise at how easily the story got me hooked from the very first page.
Gabe Motego's story is a sad tale of love, loss and of vengeful anger. He is a good man who gets drawn into to the darkness by the evil acts of others for the things that were done to him and his wife Rochelle. Gabe's character I really liked and even though he does bad things to those who hurt him he still just about manages to cling onto his good side when he shows a kinder side of himself to Shay. I do absolutely sympathise with Gabe for all that he has been through but he does go down a path of destruction that is hard to return from. Shay's character is still a bit of a mystery to me but I really do hope that she is more than what she seems to be and that more will be revealed about her in the next book.
If you're looking for a story that is dark, dirty and very gritty this will tick all of those boxes for you. I thoroughly enjoyed this book even though it was a little gruesome at times, I just couldn't stop myself from reading what depravity would happen next. It's very addictive reading. Cherry Sheppard has written a story that will take you out of your comfort zone and make you question your own moral high ground of right or wrong. I cant wait for the next book to see where the story will go. A brilliant 5 Stars!

I was so excited to be able to read an ARC of Entombed. I love Cherry Shephard's books and was eager to read from her new series.
The beginning was absolutely shocking and gut-wrenching. That jaw-dropping first chapter completely sucked me into the story and I could not put this book down. I had to see what would happen next and how Gabe would go about seeking his revenge. Things took a bit of a turn that I hadn't seen coming, and yet I was dying to see where this new path would lead. Shy was quite a character and brought an interesting dynamic to the story.
I loved all the excerpts and connections to classic literature. They were a fabulous touch.
The scene in the wine cellar was hot, hot, hot! The pages were practically on fire!
Gabriel's emotional struggle throughout Entombed was palpable. As the end grew near, I was completely on edge wondering what he would ultimately decide to do.
That ending absolutely gutted me with need. I must have more and soon!!! Wow!
The twists and turns at the conclusion of Entombed were intense and made me crazy, which I loved. It was brilliant. I was so back and forth about my feelings for Shy and Cherry Shephard did a fantastic job of constantly keeping me guessing. It was masterful. I'm convinced that her books just keep getting better and better with each new one that I read. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Holy s**t this book had me on the edge of my seat. There were twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and I’m so excited to read more. This is the first Cherry Shephard book I’ve read and I absolutely loved it. This book is dark gritty intense and a disturbingly beautiful story of vengeance about the love Gabe lost. He had one plan and that was to make those who took something precious from him pay no matter what the cost.
The only thing he didn't consider while making his plans was meeting Shy.
While his plans may have been somewhat sidelined he's still determined to seek revenge and maybe just maybe he can use her to his advantage. Cherry will have you on the edge of your seat from the very start of this book and will leave not only wanting but needing the next instalment of this series. If you like a dark read with a major twist then you should get 1 clicking.

ENTOMBED is the first book by Cherry Shephard that I have read, and it will definitely not be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the Mortuary series. The first couple of chapters are pretty violent and sad, but once Gabriel's revenge plan kicks in, you will be left on the edge of your seat. This mortician is out for blood and will do anything to avenge his wife's murder,
ENTOMBED has some pretty hot sex scenes and is very well written. Enjoy

This is a first read for me by this author and wow what a great read to start with.
this book was disturbingly beautiful in all its darkish ways.
I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting on more from this series, while I'm waiting I will dig into her other reads.

Cherry Shephard has delivered an incredible story that captured my attention from the very start of the story. The moment I read the prologue I knew that couldn't put it down. There was so many questions and twists throughout the story that it created an intense story. I definitely cant wait to read what happens next in the Mortuary series.

Incredible from beginning to end
Gabriel had me captured in his pain and begging to be in his arms, as he works his way through the hardest time of his life. Im thinking i need an encounter with a bearded man and soon. Oh my imagination is running wild. Lol. I cant wait to get into this next book.

Cherry Shephard has done it again! Seriously this book draws you in from the first page and then sends you on an emotional rollercoaster.
Well written and full of suspense. A must read for fans of dark romance .

Entombed is a really dark story but one that has lots of meaning behind it. You will find yourself feeling so sorry for Gabriel and wanting him to get his revenge.
The end though, oh my god! One of the best cliffhangers I've ever read!!!

I like this author so I dove in unprepared. I'll admit it's not a story line I'd choose, I'm a wuss with violence.
Gabe - Gabriel had his life turned upside down by this gang and now revenge is all he has to live for.
Who is 'Shy' ? Is she good or just a player? Is Gabriel walking into a trap or will he get his revenge? I have to wonder how will he live with himself when it's over?
This story is gritty, emotional and at times ugly, but I was certainly engrossed. Now I'm hanging for the next installment.

Wow! This book was everything I wanted and so much more! I knew there was going to be twists and turns but this story kept me on the edge of my seat trying to guess what was coming next the whole way through.
Gabriel is a man who has been destroyed in one of the worst ways imaginable and he's out for revenge. He has perfected his craft and has a carefully constructed plan. A plan that doesn't involve falling for a girl. And Shyanne is one hell of a girl for Gabriel to fall for.
I loved this book and it had me completely engrossed from beginning to end. I cannot wait the series to continue and to see it all unfold.

Dark and deadly and addictive!
Cherry Shephard's new series has started off with a huge emotional roller coaster ride where you experience tension, fear, anger, devastation, passion and creativity all within the first half of the book!
Gabriel is a mortician with specialised skills that he turns into a means to an ends when embarking on a plan of retaliation for the murder of his new wife. Enter Shy...enough said!
The character and scene descriptions are so vivid you can visualise them clearly and almost feel the terror and vengeance as tangible things. This fast paced book, while very easy and quick to read due to its smooth execution, does make your heart beat a little more rapidly at times. Fantastic use of classic literature throughout makes this story even better.
Without giving too much away all I can say is if you like darker stories you need to read this book and I'd say the whole series if they are all at this standard.
I'm ready for book 2!
