Rosie Storm is about to get the chance to head up a new Black Swan unit, D.I.T. The Department of Interdimensional Trespass.
Twenty years ago Sir Simon was a vampire hunter. He took three month's bereavement leave to go wild camping in the far north of Scotland following the death of his team leader. He expected solitude and fresh air to clear his mind and heart. He did not expect to fall in love. While wild camping on the stark landscape of the Orkney Islands, she disappeared into the standing stones. She faded into nothingness, a look of panic frozen on her face. As she reached out and silently called his name, he lunged to grab her an instant too late.
Her memory has haunted him every hour since.
Simon channeled his sorrow and loneliness into work until he eventually rose to the most powerful position ever held by an ex Black Swan knight. With tireless dedication, he built a congregation of talented misfits, watching and waiting for the one who could find Sorcha.

First off, I loved the story in this book. I love when Victoria decides to flash back to previous lives of the men that she has already made us fall in love with. I love learning the back story on our strong men. I can't wait to see what she does with this new series. I love that Elora Rose aka Rosie is the head of this new Department. She is one of my most favorite characters in the whole series of the Black Swan Knights. Victoria is an amazing story teller and her stories totally make you want to BE IN the story yourself. I can always imagine myself as one of her strong leading ladies. This story drawls you in from the beginning and makes you want more. I am so excited to see what this new team has in store. I can't wait for more. Simon's story is one that explains not on him as individual but him as the Head of the Knights of the Black Swan organization. Sometimes love lost and found is the best kind of love.
I was thrilled to learn that Victoria Dannan was bringing some of my all time favorite characters back to life in her new Black Swan spin-off series.
Simon Says focuses on Director Simon Tvelgar. He is always in control and able to fix pretty much all issues that are brought to him. He doesn’t joke much or appear to have much of a personal life outside of his commitment to Black Swan. When he reaches out to Rosie Storm for assistance with a personal issue, readers catch a glimpse of just why Simon is the way he is.
Twenty years ago, Simon both met and lost the love of his life within a matter of days while on a camping trip to the Orkney Islands. He never expected for her to disappear into the Standing Stones they were both fascinated with, never to return.
When Simon asks Rosie to help him find his lost love, an adventure that crosses dimensions unfolds. Will Rosie be successful in her quest travelling through parallel worlds, or will Simon’s mate, Sorcha, be lost to him forever . . .
Victoria Dannan knocked it out of the park with this novella. While it is a spin-off series, it is clear that she intends to interweave reader’s favorite characters into the new stories as well as take us on a different type of adventure than the vampire hunting that occurred in the original series.
Simon Says was thrilling, exciting and unexpected . . . and I loved it! The characters show amazing depth. The rapport between them is conversational and downright funny at times. And there is enough heat to light up a romantic’s heart! 5 stars while I count down the days to a quick follow-up release of Torn Finngarick’s story!
I am so very happy to have another Black Swan book! This book is the starting point for a spin off series, D.I.T., with Simon being the main character. Of course there's a love story, of course there's heartache, most importantly there's a reason for another book! I am enthralled with all of Victoria Dannan's characters, and I look forward to meeting new ones as much as I love catching up with old ones. In fact, when an old friend from a previous book shows up in a new story, I am applauding inside as he or she makes a most anticipated visit. This is the main reason why I love this series. There is so much love and respect given to the characters, that I begin to look at them like family members. Not the crazy kind, like in reality, but the ones that I choose encircle myself with in my happy place of reading.
I have been waiting for this book for a while now and it was certainly worth the wait. Danann can tell a story, weave a spell and create characters that grab you and hold on until long after the book is over. If you are interested in finding an author who will never let you down, then look no further. Victoria Danann is the summit. And Black Swan characters are the very best of the best. This book proves this once and for all. So I can MOST HIGHLY RECOMMEND Simon Says
This is a spin off the Black Swan Knights series. We meet Simon, the director, as a Black Swan Knight, along with his back story and how The Department of Interdimensional Trespass is formed, known as D.I.T. for short. As with all of the Black Swan Knights books Ms Danann has done a fabulous job of creating a book that keeps you enthralled from the first page to the last. This book is a quick, fun read and I enjoyed seeing a few of the characters from previous book. I enjoyed this book and you will too.
As I have come to expect from Victoria, this book was totally charming. It has the back story of Simon Tvelgar and how The Department of Interdimensional Trespass is formed, known as D.I.T. for short. We get to see Our beloved Rosie in this book. As usual I had to laugh out loud at some of the thoughts and antics. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. Can not wait for the rest of the D.I.T. books to come out! Thank you Victoria Danann for entertaining me. From a Forever Fan... Pam James.
As the title suggests, this is Director Simon Tvelgar’s story. It is also the start of new branch of The Black Swan, the D.I.T (Department of Interdimensional Trespass) In this story we get an in-depth look at what made Simon into the Man he is today and how losing the love of his life shaped him. Luckily for him, he knows Rosie Storm (or Catch as she is now) who can travel through the passes and into other dimensions. Together they decide to go and look for Simon’s love Sorcha. This was another fantastic story from Ms.Danann. It is always a treat to learn more about the characters in The Black Swan. I absolutely loved it & cannot wait for more.
Romance, adventure, and interdimensional travel...who could ask for more? Victoria Danann has done it again. This is a great start to a new series. While it is related to the Knights of the Black Swan books, you don't have to read those stories to understand the new series. But Victorian Danann has created such a remarkable universe and such wonderful characters, it is worth reading them all. One can never get too much of the Black Swan world.
Simon lost Sorcha the love of his life many years ago. She disappeared when she slipped through a portal while visiting a stone circle. There was no way he could follow her. Simon thinks he finally has some hope of finding her by using the special talents of Rosie who is part demon, part witch and so much more. Time hasn't changed Simon's feelings, but what about Sorcha? Even if Rosie can find her, will Sorcha even remember him? This is such a beautifully crafted love story.
Be prepared for laughter, tears, and a great experience. It also introduces us to a new department in the Black Swan organization. D.I.T.: the Department of Interdimensional Trespass. I cannot wait to read the next book in this new series. Luckily, the next one (FINNGARICK) comes out at the end of September so the wait will not be too long.
Twenty years in the blink of an eye Twenty years is a long time to keep a memory alive in your heart and mind. Especially when two lovers only had such a short time together. But when you find that one you just know it and to lose them so abruptly and strangely, it sticks with you. Sir Simon was a vampire hunter twenty years ago on a sabbatical after a fallen comrade died. During this time, he met the most intriguing woman but something happened and in the blink of an eye, she was gone. He continued in his work, hoping that someday, somehow or someone would be able to help him find out what happened to her. Twenty years later, he believes he may have the perfect person to help him find her or what happened to her. This book is action packed and very enthralling to read. Mystery, intrigue and a love to last beyond the years. A well written self-contained story that’s very entertaining to read.
I don't know how she does it but Victoria Danann just gets better and better! Simon is the director at the Black Swans headquarters . He worked hard to get where he is, he was a vampire hunter and while taking time off to " get his head straight" after the loss of his mentor he met a woman. Well Sorcha was an elf...it was interesting for the time together but something happened while they were inside the circle of stones in Orkney, Scotland...she called his name but he couldn't help! Twenty years pass and he can't move on...then he calls Rosie and asks for help. Can she help? She's part witch, part demon and is the daughter of one of his best hunters...but can she help? Ms. Danann weaves a great tale of love, loss and brings us back to our Black Swans again. Nobody brings us the enjoyment like Victoria Danann NOBODY! Awesome read...a must if you like twists, turns, love, loss , travel and more love!
Victoria has launched another hit series! Order of the Black D.I.T. (Department of Interdimensional Trespass). Sir Simon, a vampire hunter 20 years ago, saw his love (Sorcha) disappear into a solid stone wall. The memory of Sorcha reaching for him as she misted into the stone wall has haunted his dreams and left his heart shattered. Will Rosie be able to help Simon find out what happened to Sorcha? Can he risk hoping that Sorcha is still alive? This book grabs your heart and takes it on an adventure of loss and hope. Outstanding first book of this series and excited for the next book!
While quite short, this is, nevertheless an enjoyable addition to the Black Knights series. It also sets up the groundwork for the DIT spin - off . Charming and entertaining but not really " meaty " .
Not really a book, this is more a short story about Simon, the Sovereign in Edinburg and the love he lost to a faery ring. It's also how Rosie ends up heading a new department for the Black Swans. I learned that Simon is not just a Sovereign, he is the Headquarters Director of The Order of the Black Swan. He’s the big boss of it all. He hires Rosie to find Sorcha, which she does in a dimension with a portal directly to Loti dimension which is the dimension in which all the books have taken place. In the other dimension which is very similar to her home, Sorcha felt like she’d only been gone for a year, had only aged a year, whereas for Simon she’d been gone 20 years. She’s an elf so she can easily travel the passes unlike Simon who is human and must have an infusion of demon blood to travel that way. There are some funny moments and Simon’s personality is much more defined. I pictured him looking like David Beckham, and Sorcha looking like a young version of Kim Basinger with pointy ears. The “book” was way too short. I finished it in a couple of hours. Though I thoroughly enjoyed it, I wanted more. I hope I see more of Simon and Sorcha's continuing story in future books of this series. I must say that Danaan has turned me into an earl grey tea with cream and honey fan. My husband fell asleep in bed next me while I was reading this. Once I finished I craved some tea so bad that I had to get up and make some. Danaan should market her own label tea. I would buy it.
This is Simon's story. How he met and lost the love of his life.
Twenty years after losing his girlfriend, Sorcha, to something indescribable Simon reaches out to Rosie and tells his personal story of love and loss. He wants her to see if she's still alive or not. Rosie takes Simon back to the scene where Sorcha disappeared, she realizes that the area is a portal to another dimension. She explains that to Simon and tells him that she will get Deliverance and be right back. Meanwhile Simon is too impatient to wait 20 minutes and follows the steps that Rosie told him that opened the portal years ago.
The other dimension is slower in time. Simon was there for a day and a half and on Loti dimension that was 25 days. Rosie finds Sorcha in the psychiatric ward of a hospital. She claims that she's only been there a year, but she's really been there for 20 years.
When the two lovers reunite, they both confess that they've always loved the other. That's when Simon comes up with the plans for D.I.T. and for Rosie to run it and hire all the staffing.
Headquarters Director of The Order of the Black Swan Simon Tvelgar was a 23 year old vampire hunter on bereavement leave in the Orkneys when he met beautiful fae Sorcha and became smitten with her. Simon never thought he'd want a woman of his own but he wanted Sorcha forever. Then Sorcha disappeared at the Ring of Thorgall and Simon's never been able to forget her. Simon bided his time until he could find someone who could help him find his beloved Sorcha. Twenty years later, Simon asks witch and demon hybrid Elora Rose Storm for her help, and she agrees if Simon promises not to get his hopes up. Rosie and Simon go to the Ring of Thorgall where Sorcha disappeared to investigate and Rosie thinks that Sorcha disappeared through a gateway ... but a gateway to where? What will Rosie find when she crosses to the other side? Will Simon get his HEA with Sorcha?
Victoria Danann delivers a sweet, emotional, steamy, riveting and laugh out loud funny story that's a must read
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book
I started fussing and cussing about this one almost immediately after I started it. I was reading something else and I was short on sleep when this one arrived so I was not in shape for a straight through reading… I didn't think. But I did it anyway.
There are a couple of authors who I read, no matter what. Yep, Victoria is one of them. I've been with her since "My Familiar Stranger" and I think I've read every book since and I have never, to my knowledge, had anything less than a 5 star experience. This one brings in bits and pieces from everywhere in this series and I think/hope it's the opening of a new series? That will be awesome as long as the others keep rolling.
What about the story? A demon, some fae, dimension jumping, a love story, a revelation, a little steamy sex scene… oh yeah, and Rosie. And Simon, humanized. If you want more, buy it. You will be glad you did!
Oh My Goodness,,We get to go back to the Order of the Black Swan's...soo excited.. 20 years ago Sir Simon was a member of the Black Swan..A Vampire Hunter.. After the unexpected death of his Team leader he took a 3 month bereavement leave to come to terms with the death..While on a camping trip he meets a woman,,Sorcha,,,and they have an instant connection..They travel to a standing stone circle on Orkney,,And she disappears into the stones. Years later, as he has risen to power with in the Black Swan organization, he has never forgotten Sorcha.. He calls in Rosie..who has been known to slip into the passes to find out what happened to Sorcha.. It is great to go back to the Black Swans, and find out what has become of everyone.. Love Rosie. She has the chance to head up a new division for the organization..the D.I.T. The Department of Interdimensional Trespass.
Simon Says by Victoria Danann is the first book in the new Order of the Black Swan, D.I.T, The Department of Interdimensional Trespass series. This is the story of Director Simon Tvelgar and the love he lost long ago, Sorcha, his fae mate. He asks the help of an exceptional tracker, Elora Rose, 'Rosie', and we also get to see our favorite demon Deliverance, find Sorcha. As always the story is great and her writing is fantastic. She is very descriptive in her characterizations and makes you feel what her characters feel. I truly recommend Simon Says and whole Order of the Black Swan series and spin-offs.
The Knights of the Black Swan are back, or at least their Director, Simon Tvelgar. Simon calls on Rosie Catch née Storm to help him with a personal problem. Twenty years before, Simon lost the love of his life through an interdimensional portal. Now that Rosie is all grown up, he finally has the possibility of finding his love. The characters are as engaging as ever. The plot line opens up all sorts of interesting opportunities going forward. This is obviously an intro piece and I wish it had been longer. Other than that, I'm looking forward to reading more adventures.
What a way to start the beginning to a new spin off from The Black Swan series. It starts with Simon Tvelgar taking some time off to grieve and find his path in life. He comes across a beautiful fea by the name of Sorcha in there steamy but brief time together they new they was meant to be together, until an expedition to the (Brodgar) ring. Ever since the events that took place here he's been trying to find out what happened and this is where our resident passes traveler comes in Rosie along with her naughty grandad in the form of Deliverance take time out to help Simon to solve the mystery of a missing Sorcha. Read in one and can't wait for the next instalment .
Simon Says (Order of the Black Swan, D.I.T. Book 1) Wow!
Victoria Danann has done it again. A new series, a part of the Order of the Black Swan, the Department Interdemensional Trespass. I am so excited about this book and series. Thank you Victoria for sharing your incredible stories with us. Book 1: Simon while a vampire hunter on leave, literally looses his newly found mate, Sorcha. Twenty years later as the Director of the Order of the Black Swan asks Elora Rose for help finding her. Will Rosie be able to find her? And where? No spoilers here you must read for yourself. Guaranteed no cliffhangers. Book 2: Finngarick is available now at all retailers.
I am glad Simon got his own story and it tells of how DIT came into being, This is a spin off from Black Swan and we touch base with some, Simon enlists Rosies help to find his Fae mate Shoana - This book is a fantastic read - well paced and as always you get hooked from the very first page - There is humour - romance - and action. I really can't wait to read the next book and honestly with Victorias books they are always fresh and addictive - so prepare to be encompassed in this new series DIT is going to be amazing
Exciting things are about to happen. Sir Simon accepts some time off after the death of his teammate and sets off for the far north of New Scotia. There he meets a beautiful student from Edinburgh, but he tourns his head and when he turns back she is fading away in one of the ancient stones. For 20 years he never forgot her. Thus, as Director of Headquarters, he calls his secret weapon, Rosie and the D.I.T. Division is born. No more information is forthcoming, but just know that things get crazy and wonderful.
Very fun quick read. The banter of Rosie and Deliverance just keeps me in stitches. I could take a bucket full and never tire from it. Simon and Sorcha’s story is so sweet and tragic at the same time. They are just starting out so I hope to read more of them in future books. I also loved the fun banter between Simon and the male fae (can’t remember his name-ugh) he met in the alternate world. Victoria you’ve done it again you’ve delivered a fresh plot and a fantastic storyline with an alternate world and it’s nuances.
This is a spin off the"Knights on the Black Swan" series. The book introduces Simon (the director) as a Black Swan Knight, his back story and how the The Department of Interdimensional Trespass (D.I.T for short) was formed. It's a paranormal romance wrapped in a mystery. It's a good introduction to the D.I.T. series. As in all of Victoria's books, it's a complex story that will have you rooting for the broken hero. Enjoy reading it. I did.
I'm so pleased Simon now has his own book, and it is such an amazing opening story. He is such a charismatic character with a dry wit, and this story is a great lead in to the other books which are to follow. I can't wait to read about Finngarick and the other D.I.T. characters. As with all Victoria's books once I start reading I cannot put it down. It was the usual high standard with amazing characters, lots of laughs, adventure, tension, emotion and romance. Five stars!
I have been waiting for Simon's story for so long, and it was in no way a disappointment! Amazing, terrific, and wonderful are only some of the words to describe this emotional love story. I love that Rosie is involved in this story, it is always great to catch up with characters that we know and love. A must read for anyone who enjoys a good romance.
I adore this world Victoria Danann has created, and this new spin off from her Black Swan Knights is going to be fantastic going by this story. Simon finally has his turn as the main character and his story is heart wrenching! Without spoilers, just know he gets his HEA. Rosie will finally find her niche, and Deliverance, well, he is Del, always memorable. Wonderful writing, fabulous plot, Victoria gets better with each story.
