$0.99 advice

The title alone had my gears grinding- I was absolutely ready to make a change. So I forked over $0.99 for a book that had excellent reviews. The problem I was soon to realize is that these reviews must come from his fans.

I am tired of being disappointed. There are many 'authors' now who churn out sub-standard books and then boast that, 'oh, I only wrote this in x days and my time is so valuable that I must make $500 per hour. I don't even care if I get low reviews- that just means you are not doing what I say and you are stuck in the Hive-mentality'.

I just finished the book and the only thing I grasped is that I should set a goal (make it a big one) and come hell or high water, try and get it in 21 days.

"Scientists watch things and attempt to predict the future. I want to be the kind of person that makes things happen and changes the future". This appears to be the essence of the book: how to transform yourself to transform the future. Ed Rush makes an attempt to pen down an effective a how-to-do regime and does it well because the conversation that he is having with the reader is born out of his own experience. He prescribes a regime that is eminently do-able as he makes a suggestion to "anchor your desired result with the kind of image you best respond to"

I found his right wing politics offensive.

I wanted to like it (my father was a Marine) but just couldn't get past his rhetoric - talk about lemmings!

I normally don't read self-help books unless they are pretty good ones. But somehow this book was popping up all the time in my suggested books list on my Kindle and I thought of giving it a go. But just 50 pages down the line I was utterly disappointed! The book seemed full of self-boasting by author and unnecessary chattering. It also lacked humble approach of a coach and candid acceptance of limitations which any idea can have. The only useful thought was taking up something and finishing it within short time of 21 days. Will give it a try some day.

I wanted to like this, and I think many of the concepts are interesting and valid. He says he wrote the book in 21 days and it shows. There are many repetitive ideas, and the examples are too specific, almost as if he is telling/suggesting what your goal should be instead of writing for anyone to apply their goals to the framework.

I found this book super inspiring. I've been practicing being aware that I chose to feel X about whoever, and now I choose to feel Y instead. It's been really helpful.

One thing I particularly loved: this book and The Way of Mastery both told me to end each day by forgiving and releasing all of the past, including today. I read these within a few days of each other. I love synchronicities like that.

I should probably read this book again and do all the exercises diligently. But even having not done that, it's already improved my life.

Cons: most of the non fiction books repeats the same thing throughout the book, which I don't like... This is same for it too
Pros : this book actually provides charts and preparation techniques which is very good. It can be really useful if people do follow the steps as it said.

Overall nice one

The good things about the book are,
1) The author convincingly explain the reason behind choosing “21 days” as a magic period for a change.
2) The author neatly explains why we should not consider ‘being rich’ as equivalent to ‘being bad’.
3) The author has provided the side talk in footnotes and saves the writing from a junk nature.

However, on the negative side the book has the following.
1) The book is actually meant as an introduction for the authors motivational training products available in his website; which the author repeatedly and irritatingly reminds us in every chapter.
2) Since the concepts of the book are not fully understandable without the training packages (as logically understandable from the writings and website), the book has failed to show its fulfillment as a self-help book.
3) For the “21 days for miracle” to happen, you need a well defined plan as well as an authority figure or a strong self-discipline (for our adherence to the plan); which is not the case for many personal goals.

In short, don’t read the book unless you get it freely and have a lot of time for dilly-dallying (e.g. when you are waiting at the airport for a delayed flight). I am giving 1/5 star as rating.

For a guy that admits he wrote the book fast, Ed Rush had written a good book that is both accurate and hilarious simultaneously. You leave this book feeling like you really can do anything... except maybe fly an F18.

I'm still wondering in what crazy moment I decided to waste my time on this crap. The author is right about something -- save you time and read only what's worth it. This wisdom applies 100% on his own book. There's nothing new he's saying and if you skip it, you would not miss anything.

Shitty book I ever read

This book can be summarized in one single page. Fed up with repeatative content and worst explanations.
Author lacks originality. Waste my time and money.

The key advice is from the author’s military background. You have plenty of plans, and old gym memberships, and failed plans. But this may be in part bc you are not a turtle. You are more like the hare. And now you don’t need to be a tortoise, or held back by the common perception that things only get done slowly. It is much better to have a three week concentrated sprint. That’s how he became an F-18 pilot, and eventually taught at Top Gun. 3 week sprints to learn what could take a civilian a year or two.

Makes sense. Then he outlines certain examples of plans from his consulting to three week sprint business growth, weight loss, and 8 other common but important urgencies.

If you get the book, consider the audio version. His narration is strong and infectious.

There are mega, but I don’t care to dwell on them. I got more than the value spent, and am working his approach. Recommended.

(The three rating is based on my tough love system. I anticipate I am primarily reading good books in my view (that goes as a given, tho sometimes they are instead classics, or bad or worse even, but I want to understand a point of view. Or an opponent say.). But I also want to preserve headroom for the truly great books, or those that I find more meaningful than others. 5 points is not enough to rate the range of books, so we make do.)

This book tells we are surrounded by people who tell us that we can not do certain things, the author calls these kinds of people as Hive-Minded Lemmings. But we should not listen to these kinds of people says the author. This book contains three parts.
Part 1 consists of how to plan your victory and how to overcome any obstacle along the way.
Part 2 consists of 10 most common 21-day miracles and shows how to implement them.
Part 3 consists of 10 most common 21-Day miracles you can execute now.
Of the three Part-2 is the most prominent part. In this section, the author tells you step by step how to implement
the 21-Day plan in your day to day life like how to take control of your thoughts, how to take control of money, how to take control of relationships etc.
To achieve big goals we need big focus so we have to stop wasting time doing unnecessary things like not so important phone calls, emails etc. By reading this book you will know how to achieve that focus. The main point of this book is how to do 21-Day sprints.
Break your goal and work on that small chunks of your goal for 21 days focusing fully.
Just buy the book and apply all the concepts in it. It's very easy to apply all these concepts as the author shows you how to do it step by step.
Happy Reading...

I read this book today! Someone had a bunch of them in his office and wasn’t sure what to do with them. I asked for a copy and told him to give the rest away as raffle prizes for our wellness plan. Because who doesn’t want to improve themselves?

I read this book in one day!!!! And, I am giving it a 5 Star review without having to wait until Day 14 because I KNOW this book will help me! And it will help others. I loved this quote “there is something magical that happens with accountability. Your excuses fall away and your persistence doubles.” I printed it out and it’s on my computer screen forever!

Rush is also hilarious! I know, this doesn’t look like a funny book but I laughed out loud A LOT! The footnotes were ahhmazing!

My Inner Critic has been on strike because I haven’t been listening to her lately and with this book, I just got permission to avoid her for quite a while! I’m going to do it! Thank you Ed Rush for such a motivating book and for all the free resources that come with it! You Rock! My 21 day Miracle starts tomorrow and guess what! I rocked it!

This book... Truly a blessing...

This book is such a blessing. I loved every second of reading it. The beauty about this book is that everything is explained in such terms that is easy to understand and you can pick up any of the topic that you want, it can be just about anything, pick it up and just follow. I read this book intensionally slowly as I wanted to savour each word, wanted to be aware. I read this book every morning right before I started my work day and I call this book a blessing because it was exactly what I needed. Especially the week I was reading, I had some really intensely distressing news and situations. The words have really given me strength. I am going to read it again. 10 plus stars. And YES IF YOU TRULY FOLLOW WHAT THE AUTHOR SAYS, SUCCESS IS A SURE THING. . 💖💖

Wonderfully Explained

Though I know most of the things Ed has written in this book but it was nice to see a proper planned and targeted way of approach any and every goal. This book is a great motivator for"Get up and do something about it". Thanks for sharing your personal experience instead of talking about other writers who sound just wise and haven't or don't seem to know the real obstacles as you have posed during your own journey, including the experience of the suggested titles being this book itself. It makes sense and God Bless you for writing it. I hope the same for myself and everyone that everyone can make their lives worth while here on earth. Lots of love to the author.

Title - "How to reach short term goals in 21 days"

This is an excellent book on Goal setting, discipline and attitude adjustment. The Author is very convincing in his words and it does seem to work on the reader. In my view, the title should be improved because not everyone can put all 24 hours into something for 21 days necessarily. At times it feels like author is just promoting his business and simply boasting on how great he is. This can be forgiven because not only the writing is catchy but also is very practical in terms of application to achieve short term goals and change your lifestyle.

A book that resonates

Often times self help books come with tag of quotes and big stories and never ending journeys etc. This one is crisp, quick read, and even though we know it wont be a quick fix, yet Ed provides a pathway to atleast confidently begin the journey to accomplish all the hidden treasures called desires. 3 weeks may be insignificant when looking at entire life span, yet 3 weeks is the time I will give a shot to take 1 step closer to achievement and fulfillment. thanks Ed Rush for writing this book and Amazon Kindle to help it reach me.

Mindset Changer

This book helps you break habits in an easy, common sense way. If you’re ready to change things in your life for the better, read this book. It’s also a book that a person should reread occasionally so that they don’t develop bad habits like the ones that they broke using this book. Don’t follow the leader. Be a leader. Every person has the necessary tools to be a leader. It’s just a question of whether or not the person is going to use those tools to be a leader or not.

€0.99 advice indeed.

He really got on my nerves with his „I’m writing this book to show how good I am and why I am worth so much money“ approach. It is one thing to be proud of something, it is something else to brag about it like him. (Including all his bible quotes. I get that a good bunch of readers might be Christians but if you write a coaching book: just leave religion out of it.)

I had to read it and write a 2.5 pages summary for university and I hope that the extra points in the exam will save my ass. Otherwise I spent €0.99 and quite some hours for nothing.

A clear step by step guide book that will make the person to achieve more (if they follow the advice)
this book doesn't provide the steps on how to go about in their lives, but it breaks out the basic barriers each of us have. If we cross those barriers and follow the steps, then we can get whatever we aim for.

Ed Rush has outlined the steps for the major things that each one want in their lives, and also gives the right examples and no-nonsense way of telling it.

Everyone needs to keep this book near to their side and refer it often.

Great book

This book really made me want to change things...a lot of things. It also helped me understand change is not impossible. I loved that this book made me look at my thinking and see where I have veered off course. The author has a great mindset, one he helps you to possess. If you want a book full of good stuff without the "fluff" read this one. He's to the point with everything so you can get to work on 21 day big changes.

Quick Read, Simple Concept

I feel giving a higher or lower rating would be disingenuous until starting, and completing, my own 21-day challenge. I like the author's casual style and conviction, and I do bet his plan works -- but it takes the READER's conviction and discipline to follow through. I am trying now to decide what thing I will try to conquer with in three weeks. Perhaps once that's complete I will return and revise my review.

Easy read, terse, to the point, sporadically witty

Another one of self help kind of books with visible practical implications; clear and concise writing. The author sets out to make a few points and makes them well without beating around the bush. Not that it is really motivational, but the techniques mentioned might help with rekindling that little hidden spark of getting things done which have long been sidelined

Overconfidence can kill us.

Fav part of book:-Do you want to know the biggest lie in personal growth? The Tortoise and the Hare. You’ve been told that slow and steady wins the race. And you’ve been told that persistence and consistency create champions. They don’t. That’s because in real life, the rabbit always wins. Always. Want proof? Put a real rabbit next to a real turtle in a real race. The rabbit smokes the turtle every time.

Interesting ideas!

Creative concept, definitely in 3 short weeks everyone can change many things for better and get more motivated to achieve better results in the future.
Personally, I don't believe in miracles, except in the fact that 3 weeks are quite enough to create a new habits.
What is missing in my opinion is the flow of the book and some detailed analytic approach of an excellent concept!

Some ideas in this book made me slow down and think which is always a positive sign. There are definitely more in-depth books on this subject, but this book is a good starting point. This book is essentially about self-talk, self-efficacy, focus, and reflection. Keep in mind, you can only control what you can control. There are things outside of your ability to influence and one cannot expect those to change, however we can change how we respond to those things when they affect us.
