Jewels. Power. Billions. I’ll burn it all on her. If she’ll agree to my proposal.
I walk alone. Always have. I clawed my way into this billion-dollar life. I don’t owe anyone a damn thing. And no one is going to con me out of my money. Least of all a pretty face. I’m out celebrating the deal of my life tonight. It’s pouring down. I see a figure on the street. Its cowering in the corner. Long hair. Face like a dream. A young beauty out on the streets. Exposed to the world. I take her in. Why not? We both get what we want. She gets a roof over her head, a luxury apartment. And I get to have her any way I want. Those are the terms. I call the shots. I make the rules. She wears what I say. She walks how I say. She f*cks how I say. I’m getting hard thinking of all the positions I’m going to put her in.
Extravagance, skyscrapers, the London city lights, my fortune. I’d share it all with her. If she’d agree to my proposition.
A standalone dark billionaire romance. No cliffhangers and a HEA guaranteed. Includes bonus content! WARNING: Adult readers only.
I received this book as an ARC. I was excited to see how this dark romance would turn out. However, for me it was lackluster. The lovemaking scenes were cut and dry nothing extreme about them compatriots some of the other dark romance I've read. I have it a three because there is potential in the story.
I received an Advance Reader Copy for Proposition written by Angela Blake and voluntarily reviewed this book. George was on his way to meet his friends when he notices a beggar hunched on the street and was quite taken aback when he realized it was a pretty young female and not the face of some old man as he'd expected. However, he carries onward to meet his friends and doesn't look back. He later runs into the same beggar, only this time she is crying, and he only helps her by offering her a proposition - spend one night with him for a roof over her head. Of course, she accepts.
Sophie never thought it would be this hard on the streets, but she is hanging on as hard as she can. But when her prospects look really bad for that evening to get shelter for the night, she breaks down. Then she sees the same man that had walked right by before...and this time, he gave her an opportunity. Sophie didn't have a lot of experience but she knew what he wanted from her.
We see a man who was used to having everything done his way, with the means to do so, not wanting any intimacy in his life, just his needs fulfilled. And when he cannot achieve any satisfaction with his paid escorts any longer, it was because he kept thinking of Sophie. He ends up opening his heart and taking her in, though he had to fight everything he believed to do so, transformed from cold & calculating to caring.
Sometimes you take a gamble when offering to read a book based on someone else's recommendation. I typically don't read blurbs and/or reviews for books when they are recommended, so I had no clue what this was about. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book, and I honestly really enjoyed it. It is a little different from what I used to reading. It's not a virgin romance (the main female had unpleasant experiences before), but the chemistry between the characters can be felt through the author's words. This book is told through multiple points of view, and it's nice to know what both characters are thinking.
While this story does habe parts of BDSM involved, it by no means reflects the real BDSM experience of safe, sane, and consensual. Please note that you need to read this as fiction, and if you're interested in the BDSM lifestyle, do it in a safe, sane, and consensual environment. Make sure there are safe words in place, you trust the person you're with, and you understand the scene and/or scenes you're participating in.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and the story. I really hope that there are more stories and adventures involving these two characters!!!
The blurb had me all excited and I couldn't wait to read this but it didn't turn out as i expected . Honestly, I am quite disappointed. It wasn't a full length dark romance novel. There was no character development at all which left me really angry . As for the story .. George is a self made billionaire. While walking he sees a beautiful homeless beggar,Sophie. He propositions her that she can have a roof under her head for the night if her has sex with him and then leave in the morning . When morning comes he almost kicks her out of his apartment . He realizes that she has left him wanting for more . So he sent someone to chase and hunt her down and clean her up and bring her to him. At last he gives two options to her :- a) six months rent for an apartment fully paid and a job b)open the box and meet him outside the hotel.
Well the book had all the right elements and the potential of a great story but it did not work out for me as it was highly unfinished. I like the writing style though ,so i am looking forward to see good books from the author.
Very good contemporary billionaire dark romance. George is a hard working billionaire that isn't interested in a long term relationship. Most of his relationships are one night stands due to pick-ups or for women he has paid for. He is into some BDSM and doesn't want it to affect his public life. He sees a pretty homeless woman and comes to offer her a proposition.Sophie's life has been hard and she doesn't know how to cope with living on the streets. When George offers her a night in a warm bed in exchange for sex she agrees. He seems very cold hearted when he kicks her out the next morning knowing she'll be living in the cold streets but he got the fantasy he wanted. Sophie wants a better life than the streets and is trying. She knows her appearance and lack of address makes it harder. George comes up with a new proposition what's next? I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review.
I read this book as part of an arc program. George is a billionaire who thinks he should always get what he wants because he now has money. He grew up poor and now looks down upon the poor and homeless, he thinks it is best to ignore them and he thinks his money should remain his. One night he sees a young woman on the street and he thinks she is very beautiful, but walks by her and goes to a club. On his way home he sees her again and tells her he will give her a bed for the night, if she will sleep with him. Sophie is new to the streets and is unsure what to do or where to go. When George approaches her with his offer, she takes it. The next morning, he kicks her out where she is left again wondering what to do. George cannot forget Sophie and after a few days, he looks for her. This book was a quick read that could have been longer with a little more of a storyline. It was not a bad read, but I wished for more
This story is told from different points of view which makes it more interesting. George is a wealthy man but really doesn't come across as being happy, he seems quite mean and unfeeling with nothing of sentiment in his life. Sophie has had an awful abusive life and is now forced to live on the streets not knowing where to go or what to do but it is better than what she had. When he sees her cowering in the rain in an alley he feels something towards her that makes him take her home with him. He has every intention of using her for his own needs but things change and emotions get involved. This is really a beautiful story of two souls finding what they need, not what you start out thinking at the beginning.
I voluntarily received this ARC for an honest review.
This is a weird dark story, but that does not make it any less good! Short and to the point. Again weird but really good.
George is not a friendly or good person in general. He is just looking for himself and does not care about anyone else, much less their feelings. Thats until he saw a beautiful girl on the streets. A beautiful homeless girl.
Sophie is trying to survive, but how do you learn to be homeless? She is not learning to fast... that is until this handsome guy pass beside her two times the same night, that is until he makes her a weird and reckless proposition. One that she will accept. Has she found a way to survive?
A beautiful story of two broken souls who come together as one and make each other whole again. George, a billionaire is out celebrating his latest deal when he happens upon a beautiful homeless girl. Sophie is just trying to survive so when George makes her a proposition, she accepts. A warm bed for the night in exchange for sex. She accepts because she really has no other choice. He finds himself feeling more for her. Told from both POV's, which is great. A dark romance with some BDSM. A short book, but hopefully there will be a followup in the future. I received an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review this book.
He lives in the ivory tower and wants for nothing She lives on the streets and wants for everything The premise for the story is five stars - Our hero is so easy to loathe in spades - our heroine seems too easy but I feel that she is honest with where her reality stands This is a light BDSM romance - short read - this could have been five stars - for me, it lacked any character substance and just left me hanging at the end - is there a book two? I received a complimentary copy of Proposition
I really enjoyed what there was of this story; unfortunately it just kind of ended. The book ends at 3% and very abruptly. I would have liked to know more about George as his character was not really explored. It felt like the author just got bored and quit. It left me very disappointed. I'm not sure if I will read anything else by Ms. Blake but I hope she reads her reviews and maybe next time she will finish the story. The story that was there is worth 5 stars but the abrupt ending left it only with 2.
Although it was a quick read, it certainly packed a punch. George sees a beautiful homeless woman on the street and he is drawn to her. He ends up giving her a proposition that if she gives herself to him that he will get her off the streets. Sophie takes him up on that challenge and in the end the chemistry between them is off the charts and more than just easy sex keeps them together. This was a good read.
Proposition by Angela Blake is a dark billionaire romance. This was a very different story and seemed like an interesting concept. In the end it kind of didn't work for me. Story was good and I liked Sophie. I felt really bad for her because life had really beaten her down. George I found to be quite unlikable. He came across as very cold, uncaring and unsympathetic. Still it was an o.k. book but not really to my liking. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
A quick and dark story that I really enjoyed. Well written and developed storyline with different POVs which I really like. George and Sophie are wonderful characters with great chemistry and hot and steamy sex scenes. Though their relationship starts as essentially a business deal, I like seeing how they develop together. Would love to see more from these characters. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest opinions of which I am under no obligation to do so. This was well written by Angela, had dark and interesting moments, I thought George was unlikeable, although he did start to grow on me and I really liked Sophie. Sex scenes were sensual, steamy which Angela does so well and a quick read. I can honestly say I recommend this book.
Book was full of errors and ended so abruptly I felt cheated. The bonus books were just as bad. One was about a basketball player in the NBA and at 5' 7" he was one of the tallest in the team. What? Obviously the writer knows nothing about basketball. Do some research before you put out a story and make it accurate. Not a fan and will NOT be reading this person again
Three stars because it had potential, and had few, if any, errors. However, this was a very dry read. I couldn't even finish, too bored. I wouldn't call this a dark romance, and I've read plenty. Again, the novella had potential, but fell short for me. There are others who really seem to have enjoyed Proposition, so you may be one of them.
This was a short story that could make for a great read when you only have a couple hours. It is a dark romance so some probably won't like George's cold and uncaring nature. However, he and Sophie have really good chemistry. I wish there had been more. Overall, I enjoyed the story. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
**I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Readers Copy of this book** I sometimes like a little question at the end of a book, is this a HEA or a HFN. In this books case, I wanted to know more at the end!! Is Sophie the one for George and do they find their HEA??? I was kinda unsatisfied. I thought the book was interesting, the characters were interesting, just felt really hanging at the end.
This was interesting. It was short read. Plenty of hot naughtiness. But it kind of left me hanging. I'm not sure what happens after she gets in the car and my romantic mind isn't happy about that. So maybe there is more to come. I hope so
What a shame that the author didn't make more of this story, thought it was a great little story and then it just finished!!! Right as it was getting started 🤔 Gave 3 stars because it was a good read but it could've been so much more of a 5 star read!
What a great short story. George had issues dating due to being shy and tongue tied when talking to women, but had dark sexual side. Sophie was a beautiful homeless girl down on her luck that matched George's sexual side.
This could have been a five star had it been longer and was more developed. I do think there should have been an epilogue the readers some sort of what happens ever after.
A cold hearted billionaire meets a homeless beauty on the streets. What happens next is unusual! He propositions her... She can have a warm night's sleep if she sleeps with him.
Well, that was unexpected. Here was a man who went out of his way to avoid even looking at homeless people, but something about this girl intrigues him. Oh yeah, she's beautiful and he's horny.
George is no stranger to getting what he wants. He even keeps an escort service on retainer for his lonely nights. A man so cold and distant that he would rather pay for sex than to get involved with an interested woman.
This story was good and the writing was as well. My issue was with George. He irked me to no end. He had no regard for those less fortunate than he and was more concerned with losing his wealth than helping a human. That didn't stop him from blowing quite a bit of cash at the race track. I mean sure it was his money to blow, but a better ma would have used that money for good.
Sophie was another story. I totally get why she agreed to the proposition. Being cold, hungry and homeless will cause a person to do things they normally wouldn't. I am concerned for her future. Even though the Ice King's resolved thawed a little, I wonder if she were to do anything that displeases him would she be back out in the cold. He is such a brat that he can not be trusted to keep his word if things go left.
ARC review for honest review. George sees Sophie and proposition her to help her Sophie is homeless .this was a beautiful story I liked how he didn't give up on her just because she was homeless.
