Tony Soprano, meet Stephanie Plum.

From USA Today Bestselling Author Gina LaManna

Wedding bells are ringing in Luzzi Land! The church is booked, the decorations are set, and the cakes—all ten of them—are ready to be frosted. Lacey Luzzi is getting married, and her grandmother finally gets to cry those tears of joy, gosh darn it.
Until one phone call changes everything.

When the Violet Society’s newest recruit is found dead at the St. Paul Cathedral, Lacey Luzzi is the first to be notified, and she’s not happy about it. After all, the bride-to-be is supposedly on vacation from all things unlawful. Even worse? She’s scheduled to be married at the scene of the crime in exactly one week.

After the police rule the death a suicide, however, Lacey pushes aside her wedding dress and sets down her bouquet. The whole situation reeks of foul play, and Lacey’s determined to bring her friend’s murderer to justice—if it’s the last thing she does before walking down the aisle.

Lacey, Clay, Meg, and Anthony have seven days to find the killer. If they fail, they’ll be changing out wedding invitations for funeral arrangements faster than Anthony can say I do.

Assuming “until death do us part” doesn’t happen first.

** **
Lacey Luzzi: Sugared is a full-length, humorous cozy mystery with a strong female protagonist in the spirit of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum, albeit one working for the wrong side of the law…

Note: This book can be read as a standalone, though it is part of a larger series and not all plot lines are resolved in a single book. It is rated a strong PG-13 for sarcasm and mild language. No graphic gore or sex.

Even preparing for her wedding, Lacey can’t catch a break. She’s investigating the murder of Beckett (magician from the last book) who was going in the cathedral set to be her and Anthony’s wedding venue, with her name on a slip of paper in his pocket. Between disastrous bachelorette boat parties ( Meg of course), Bob the robot, Alessandra moping around with secrets, a break in, bombs, and a man named the Zebra, will Lacey make it to the church in one piece?

Another funny Lacey Luzzi mystery.

Danger, danger and trouble just seem to gravitate to Lacey even when she is trying to take a break, but oh well who needs a wedding and honeymoon anyway.... lol

I'm thinking poor Anthony will be bald before their first anniversary from pulling his hair out in frustration from trying to keep his beloved Lacey safe, but at least he may find some peace....lol

From dead bodies in churches, to distraught fiancées, to wacky bachelorette parties, missing millions and culminating with magicians rising from the dead this story truely has something for everyone.

Ok guys this is a review for the entire series 😅.
🎧 I did the audios (which was such a mess and highly disappointing) so
I’m gonna break down this whole series without any major plot spoilers but this will have relationship spoilers and the series character progression spoilers.
I wanted a good long audio series. It was my main reason for picking this up!

Overall this was..
Romcom
Suspend disbelief
Silly antics
Mafia family- but also not really done well
Over the top antics
Light and mostly fun listening
Cozy mystery
Crazy reacurring side characters

‼️Book 1-3….
🎧audio was good w a narrator who did voices and personalities.

The first 3 books was hard for the romance. I didn’t like that she was dating OP and that Anthony was wishy washy. I also would have liked confirmation that he wasn’t dating and hooking up w OW.

I didn’t enjoy the weird way the author tried to write a love and romance. She dragged it out way too much and not in a fun way.

😡Why is she still hooking up w her looser ex!
And why is the H waiting so long and sending mixed signals for 4books??!!!

😡Also making the h pathetic isn’t attractive. She was legit in the next room while her ex he was hooking up w OW and she has seen him w a revolving door in his bed. Why is she still hooking up w him in book 3 when Anthony has told her multiple times he wants her and they have had more then one make out sess? It makes her come off as so gross and cheap w no self respect.
Way to much push and pull with Anthony the H. Makes him seem like a douche.

‼️ Book 4-
🎧Audio is the same and still good!
By the end we are finally getting somewhere with the romance! And FINALLY Lacy seems to be growing a bit.

‼️Book 5-
🎧HORRID! We went to VIRTUAL VOICE🫨 after having a great narrator w personality.
Also the story is FINALLY getting better and better and the romance was stating to get super sweet. So I was bummed about the audio big time!

‼️Book 6-
NO AUDIO AVAILABLE!!! WTF I did Alexa reading to me. What a freaking mess!
Also since the romance and story anew literally getting better w each book this is ruining my experience.

‼️Book 7-10-
🎧ALL VIRTUAL VOICE! 🫨 I guess it was better than Alexa reading it to me but WTF I mean this author really needs to get consistent with her audios.
The story was great though these were my fav of the series. We had character growth. Super sweet romance that I loved. And we got some fun storylines and mysteries. TO ME THESE BOOKS WERE THE BEST IN THE SERIES AND WHERE RHE SERIES PEAKED.
Such a shame about the audios! 😭😭😭

‼️Books 11- 12-
🎧BACK TO NARRATION! So great audios
But man the characters and the storylines took a plummet for me. Lacy was annoying me and so was Meg. Anthony turned into her useless husband. I mean he was head security for the mafia and couldn’t keep her safe! And Lacy was pregnant and putting herself in danger. I was annoyed. It’s not cute when you have real adult stuff happening to be acting like an immature child.

‼️Book 13-
🎧Back to ZERO AUDIO!
Fucking hell!!!!!! I mean really!? And I’m over it and ready for this series to end.

‼️Overall my experience of this series was def positive and I did enjoy the majority of the mysteries and stories.
I love the romance after book 4.
But to much stuff dragged to long w the characters and their growth and development.
The audios were a freaking mess! And had I known I wouldn’t have spent money buying the first 4!
By the time the series ended I felt sad to see it go but also ready. I did enjoy watching to romance bloom and grow and then get married and have kids but like I said other factors also made my experience less enjoyable to.

🍭🎂ALSO SIDE NOTE BUT NO GROWN WOMAN CAN EAT ALL THAT SUGAR! IT WAS OK AT FIRST BUT ANGUGE TURN OFF WHEN SHE BECAME PREGNANT!
Not cute just gross.

Overall safe.
Book 1-4 not really cause she is hooking up w her ex douche bag BF
No clue is Anthony is hooking up w OW.
After book 3 No OP at all.
Anthony never had a serious GF
Lacy had Laney of experience her ex bf wanted to marry her.

Also how did Anthony and Lacy not meet for 2 years when he lived on her grandfathers property? When he is the head of security for the family and that included her? Made no sense!

Just wonderful

Another hit right out of the ball park!! Gina has done it again with Sugared!!

I have read every Lacey Luzzi and I've loved every single one. This one here is just as funny as the rest of them. The story flows nicely the pace is fast and there is never a dull moment. Lacey is due to have the biggest wedding her grandmother has her heart set on when she gets a call about a murder. Well obviously Lacey gets involved much to Anthony's not wanting her to of course. And of course Meg is along for the ride which makes for much laughter.
Much more chaos ensues and more surprises are in store for Lacey which I loved. If you have not started this series I highly recommend you do so. It is a very funny and fun loving series that is well done. I highly recommend this to any age group. Thanks Gina LaManna for sharing your talent and heart~Your Faithful Reader

3.5 stars rounded up.

Yes, I put this up to four stars, and normally this kind of series (including the Stephanie Plum books) are 3 stars, but there were things about this one that put it up for me. I don't want to say too much lest it spoil it for you with what to expect.

Suffice it to say, that Lacey and Anthony, secretly married at the end of the last book, are planning an official wedding. As the blurb says, a man they have met before is found dead in the same church where they are going to be wed. There is plenty of fun and mayhem, along with some challenges. This wouldn't be a Lacey Luzzi book if no one was after Lacey, but she is smarter than before.
And Lacey's sister-in-law has woes of her own.

One of the things I like about this series is the fabulous lack of love triangle, which have been used so very often that I dread it when I see one coming.

She's not even working and things still go awry for Lacey Luzzi!

We have the introduction to a dead body, a rival mob boss, a new "character," and some surprises.

To be the 10th book in the Lacey Luzzi series, it's still fresh and funny with suspense in tow.

I really liked getting to know Alessandra a bit more and learning some of her secrets.

If you've read any of the Lacey Luzzi books, you'll love seeing more character from the usual gang and some of it will blow your mind! Grab a copy and enjoy the days leading up to the wedding.

Sugared is a wedding of epic proportions, completely with Meg's antics, a mystery and loads cakes! After ten books this story is everything I wanted from it and more. I laughed, I even cried! And I had no idea what was going to happen from chapter to the next!

After ten books, you know what to expect from Lacey and the rest, but Sugared, like the rest, is better than the last book! I was excited to have Anthony's sister back in the mix and let me tell you. Nora was amazing in this story!

The mystery had me going, I thought I had it all figured out, but man oh man I was surprised in the end. I'm not really sure what else I can say that wouldn't ruin the book.

So in this one - surprisingly - Lacey and Anthony are coming up on their one-year wedding anniversary. I know! They plan to have their “first” wedding pretty much for Nora’s sake and the rest of the Family in a week. Nora still hasn’t been told about the couple’s elopement in Italy. Yes, the two were married in Italy during the last book (Book 9 of Lacey Luzzi Mystery - “Suckered”), but I did not expect an entire year to lapse in between that book and this one.

The mystery starts shortly after this realization with a suicide in the very church Lacey and Anthony are to be married in. Unfortunately the suicide is one of their friend’s; however, Lacey suspects the death is not self inflicted, rather it is a homocide and she plans to get to the bottom of finding out exactly what happened and who killed him.

Meg throws a bachelorette party for Lacey, but it is a last minute party, so things go exactly how they always go when Meg is behind the wheel - chaotic! I’m talking a cruise in Minnesota in the middle of winter. Her intentions are always good, but…

Allessandra is stood up for a date and turns to The Violet Society for help. Lacey is hit when searching for clues and shows an animalistic side of herself we hadn’t seen before. And a nice surprise is presented to Lacey and Nora that Anthony is sure to love.

Bob is introduced and Arnold makes a cameo. Someone gets married and a previous character appears.

With Lacey and Meg on the case things are sure to be crazy and they are. Very much. And there’s cake! Ten of them! And in the end one of my wishes comes true that I was expecting but not actually expecting. You’ll see once you’ve read this.

Next is book 11 “Sprouted”.

Here we are 10 books into this amazing series and the moment we have been waiting for is here! (Well, we are a year past Lacey and Anthony's adorable wedding sans family) and the "official" wedding is about to take place. Sugared starts out in typical Luzzi fashion haha and from the moment we rejoin with our favorite over the top clan it is home sweet home. This series is always one of my favorites and here in book 10 it keeps getting bigger and better.

There is a mystery afoot and everyone is in a uproar about a potential murder at the cathedral where the nuptials are gonna take place and it kicks off a intense ride for Lacey and Co. In addition to all of the wedding upheaval we get an adorable look at how Lacey and Anthony are at home and tacking some of those big couple questions *wink wink*

After some helpful wedding night info sharing from Nora (one of my favorite moments in the book) the story hits a fever pitch with the lead up to the event and the race to figure out who is trying to derail Lacey'a big day. It all comes together in a book ending that only happens in a Lacey Luzzi novel and leaves you quite eagerly anticipating the next book the minute you finish the last page.

I have loved being a part of this story and growing along with Lacey and seeing how far she has came since her first awkward investigations where she was sure Anthony was trying to harm her and to where she didn't quite know better when to avoid Nora's cooking or that Clay is really just a big softie with a penchant for mishaps. It's a amazing journey we've taken with Lacey and I cannot wait for the next step in her life.

Gina LaManna has done it again! A roller coaster ride with an ending you'll never guess! If I could, this book is worth 10 stars

How does Gina LaManna do it!? If it is possible to hit better than a homerun, then Gina did it! Each book in this series is even more incredible than the last! There are so many crazy things going on with Lacey and the gang while she and her grandmother, Nora, continue to plan for her wedding. When a friend is found dead from an apparent suicide in the church where she and Anthony are getting married in 2 weeks. In his pocket is a piece of paper with Lacey's name on it. How devastating. But Lacey believes there has to be more and so the roller coaster ride goes. I had to finish this book the moment I started it because you are so drawn in with all the supporting characters, Lacey and Anthony and of course Nora. And who can forget Meg and her cousin Clay. Throw in a robot - really, lol. Then there is Anthony's sister who comes early to the Luzzi house for the wedding and has a problem of her own which draws Lacey in. With crazy laugh out loud humor and some tears, you are wound around a circle, up and down a roller coaster and then you get totally thrown by an ending you would never have guessed! Wow! This is a must read in the Lacey Luzzi series as is all the books of this series, you just can't put them down once you've started them! I received an ARC from the author but the opinions expressed here are definitely my own!

This is a great book; this is the tenth book in the Lacey Luzzi Mafia Mystery series and written by Gina LaManna. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Even though Lacey and Anthony secretly got married already, Nora has no idea, and is busy planning a perfect wedding for them. But the week of the wedding everything starts to go wrong! Of course Meg is there to help in her own style, but it isn't enough when they find a friend is dead, Anthony's sister is early for the wedding, and Lacey has the unwanted attention of a character named The Zebra. Apparently Lacey is supposed to find a missing $3 million dollars that the dead friend stole from The Zebra. Meanwhile Meg and Nora are throwing a bachelorette party and a pre-wedding sleepover ALl Lacey really wants to do is find out who killed her friend. But as usual, things don't go like she plans!

This is a terrific book full of the whole gang with shenanigans from Meg and Clay, fighting between Vivian and Joey, dark looks from Carlos, high emotions from Nora, and lots of laugh out loud situations that somehow just happen! There are twists and turns galore and you will love the ending. Get your copy now and find out all the details for yourself! You will be glad you did. And for heavens sake, if you are new to the series, get reading! You need to start at the beginning and meet the crew and get caught up in Lacey Land! So much fun!

This series gets better with each book. This one (although it still had all the humor) was a bit more... emotional. Without giving anything away, Lacey, the Protagonist, was more subdued (which you'll understand why when you read it.) Anthony, the strong and silent type, also Lacey's fiance, gets more human and shows more emotion as the series plays out. The other supporting cast members, as always, keeps you laughing and often tries to steal the show. They are a colorful bunch. As for the mystery, it was personal this time. Someone Lacey and the gang knows. It's not a mystery that is too convoluted to follow or keep up with. They pretty much figured out the who right off the bat... they just needed to figure out how to bring him to justice. As per the norm with the Luzzi clan, nothing goes as planned and things get out of hand. Even the ending and epilogue had some surprises in store, for us as readers as well as for the characters! ;)

The writing is great and it reads smoothly and quickly. No F-bombs and no sex (though it is implied a couple times.) This is a fun series filled with humor, family love, misfortunes and sugar. Lots and lots of sugar! :D

Lacey is very happily married. The thing is, the number of people who know this fact can be counted on one hand(minus a couple of fingers). So what's happening? Why Nora is throwing the wedding of the century. Unfortunately, just before the two can tie the knot AGAIN, Lacey is called to the scene of a suicide(or is it murder?) that just happens to occur at the church where Anthony and Lacey will be exchanging their vows. Even worse, the dead body belongs to someone she happens to know and care about. Lacey just can't believe the death was by suicide and sets about to prove that it was murder. The pre-wedding festivities put a real cramp in the investigation, but Lacey finds a way to get to the truth, keep Nora happy, and get her man to the altar(for the second time). Gina never recycles her stories and each new book is fresh and keeps me guessing. She is one author whose new books I always anxiously wait for. This was a great one, Gina! Thank you! I received an ARC in advance for my honest review and I can honestly say this is another great Gina LaManna book.

Even 10 books in, reading about the Luzzis is still entertaining. This one is more surprising than some of the previous books because there is a murder involved, which isn’t really in Lacey’s wheelhouse. However, you would never know this, since she goes gangbusters into the investigation. Even though so many changes are taking place in the family, it’s nice how everyone stays true to themselves and doesn’t alter their behavior much, which is what makes this crew so fun to read about. I love how Anthony acts throughout this whole book and I know what happens next will be very memorable. My favorite part is when the team goes bowling, because besides the low scores, everything else that can go wrong does too. I had a hard time choosing between reading this one as fast as I could or savoring it, but reading it quickly won out, simply because the story was too good. I’m anxious for what’s next, and to see if Meg ever gets a wedding of her own.

Wedding bells and gunshots are abound in this one, so make sure you have a fork ready and wedding cake waitng on you when you jump in. Believe me, you'll want it.

Lacey and Anthony are getting married! Again! A year has passed for the newlyweds and Nora has been hard at work planning a grand ceremony for them to take their holy vows. They don't necessarily want it, but it's a necessity that Nora doesn't find out they got married without her.

It's not exactly easy with Lacey having to swear off ice cream, Meg planning a bachelorette party, working on a seating plan to make sure the mobsters with bad blood aren't seated together and the cops don't feel left out. And there's a dead body found at the church with her name on them, and it's Beckett.

Things get out of control fast. There's bowling balls and uncooked noodles, a man named Skipper and a trash bag, and the troublesome Violet Society. Good thing Lacey has wedding cake. Ten of them in fact.

What another wonderfully fantastic ride! I love Gina LaManna and all of her books. I know I am guaranteed a 5 star story every time. Of course, Sugared didn't disappoint. Lacey isn't one to be able to sit around and do nothing. It's her nature to find things out and it usually gets her in some kind of trouble. Even handsome and loving hubby Anthony can't keep her away from trouble. As each story has unfolded, Lacey has acquired more and more people who love her and you will, too. This can be read as a stand alone, but I'm sure once you read one of Gina LaManna's Lacey Luzzi books, you will want to read them all and enjoy the characters even more. You just can't go wrong with a Gina LaManna book, no matter which of her series you're reading, you will enjoy and have fun reading it. I cannot recommend this book enough!

The wedding of Lacey and Anthony is round the corner when Lacey is called to the scene of a suicide. Someone she knows is dead and Lacey is convinced it's murder. And again she is involved in dangerous stuff and Anthony does not like it!

I always enjoy reading about Lacey and the gang and I smiled at the little crossover with the Lola Pink-series. Even when the story is not really realistic and always a bit (okay.. a lot) OTT, it has so much heart. It is not about the cases, it is about love, family, friendship and did I mention love?! Gimme Anthony every day!

I do have a feeling we are nearing the end of the series or that this was the end! I would actually be a nice conclusion but I would beg the author for at least a little encore!!! I wanna know!

What does a Zebra, a hefty trash bag, bowling, & a robot all have in common? Sugared!

Gina LaManna does it again super sized! Lacey & friends are back in another action-packed, laugh filled adventure that keeps the reader entertained from beginning to end. This book just crackles with the most oddball, quirky characters who find themselves in such unbelievable situations. Even Baby Arnold makes a cameo! Then add in the knock-your-socks of love & romance between Lacey & Anthony, & you have one stellar read!!! I can't wait to see what the future holds for the gang, especially Lacey & Anthony!!

Lacey & Anthony are getting ready for their wedding! Unexpected tragic news of new friend Beckett's suicide has Lacey's hackles up. There is no way that he committed suicide. The foxy magician and Violet Society member has been murdered & Lacey is pulling out all stops to prove it. So close to her wedding has she & Meg scrambling for clues. Along the way Clay has created a new friend, Nora is in a wedding frenzy, & Anthony just wants Lacey out of harms way. An unexpected villain, secret hideouts, unexpected news, and trying to stay alive might just have Lacey unable to make it to the alter. Will she and Anthony ever get married and will she find Beckett's murderer.

Hard to believe we are on the 10th Lacey Luzzi book. Must say, they keep getting better and better. My favorite parts are the tender moments between Lacey and Norma, but most of all her true friendship with Meg. The other odd cast of characters are all there, including Joey and Vivian. make sure to have a tissue handy to wipe away the tears, from laughing and crying. This book was a long time coming, but worth the wait. Gina LaManna at her best. I received an advanced copy; however, the comments are my own.

Loved it

I loved being able to see Lacey mature and the characters and relationships around her grow closer.

My favorite relationship by far is Nora and Carlos but each and every one of the relationships throughout the series are awesome. Their (Nora and Carlos) relationship works and whenever I read a chapter where they are the main focus I'm always laughing.

Spoiler:

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE KID/(S) I really hope Lacey cools it with solving crimes for a bit but I can't wait to see what's in store for her in the future.

This book was a surprise. The family members with a bad reputation ended up the heroes! The writing, though, was not a surprise. Gina LaManna is a very talented author. Her characters are well so real I feel like I know them all. Relationships between the characters is very well rounded, well described, and I love them all! (Well, all but the real bad guys, but we're not supposed to love them!) Everyone was involved. Cover to cover. I loved it! (ps I love Bobert!) This is a great read! Don't pass it up!

No spoiler and I'm not paid or given incentives to write this review.

This is by far the best in the Lacey series. I had tears! It was worth staying up until 5 am to finish because I literally just couldn't put the book down. Gina is a phenomenal writer/story teller and this book does not disappoint.

If you like romance, suspense, and a little mystery all in one then this is the book and series for you! (Also I loved the mention of Days of our Lives, I am a 20+ year fan lol)

Fantastic Series

I started reading this series with a free book offer on book 9. From that point on I couldn't read fast enough an now have bought all her books. Gina has a way of adding hilarious family members or sidekicks that literally makes me want to become a part of her team. Now, as I've read all her books I'm gonna go through withdrawal!
Write fast Gina, I need another book!!!

Fantastic!

I just finished a"binge reading" of this entire series and I couldn't stop laughing and in some instances getting a lump in my throat. . I have enjoyed getting to know all of the characters and came to feel like I knew all of them and they lived right down the street. I'm looking forward to the next installment!

Lacey and the gang investigate Beckett's murder.

Meg buys Clay a robot.

Nora is glad to be in on the action, and is quite the scrapper.

Lacey's wedding turns into something else entirely.

And Anthony and Lacey find that sometimes, family can be too much of a good thing.

And a fun time was had by all.
