After accepting Sebastian’s proposal of marriage, Aliena passes out in a feverish swoon, leaving Sebastian to wonder if she will ever wake. What began as a dream come true for Sebastian devolves into his worst nightmare as Aliena forgets who he is, unconcerned over what has happened to her. When it becomes apparent she is the most likely suspect in a spree of vampire murders, Sebastian is desperate to keep the other vampires from executing her. But Aliena is inhabited by one of the Ghosts of Atlantis, an interdimensional entity that burns its victims to dust—and will eventually consume his beloved Aliena from the inside out if he can’t extract it in time.
After unsuccessfully attempting to acquire a football-shaped meteorite from NASA, Greg Mongrain decided to write science fiction and fantasy stories with a paranormal crime twist. He always loved sci-fi and it seemed natural to combine a fantastic story with his other favorite genre: mystery.
An accountant for thirty years, Greg lives in the seaside town of Oxnard, California.
Sebastian Montero loses his secret to two very important characters in this story. I like that he can now truly be himself with Preston and Hamilton. I absolutely loved the story of his first family. I love how Karina didn't push him away as she grew into an old woman and he remained young. I do wish the author would have touched on Sebastian telling Aliena about Morgan and what to expect, seeing as though she is also immortal.

My attention was grabbed by the title but this turned out not to be my usual read, not really into the vampire theme, but that said I found myself drawn in by the main character Sebastian Montero, an immortal human. I loved how Sebastian’s story is told alongside the current events yet it doesn't confuse the plot. I found the novel laced with humour, some sarcastic, some very funny, but always well worded so as to enable visualization, one such incident refers to a donut! Turns out that although vampires are a major part of the novel it is not your usual vampire ride, they are a necessary part to allow certain actions which otherwise would not make sense or be able to occur. Don’t get me wrong the vampires are still sunlight avoiding blood drinking creatures, but they are intelligent socially active secretive beings. A well written work that is not bogged down by traditional vampire trappings or staking, but flows quickly through a high tension interdimensional mystery thriller. A good read.
Ghosts of Atlantis bk 3 by Greg Mongrain reviewed by Angi
This is book three in the series. I had not read the first two yet. (soon to be remedied) I think you can definitely read this as a stand-alone, I didn't feel I lost too much in the story. Some things may have been clearer and smoother had I read them all but it didn't take away from my overall experience.
This is a unique take on paranormal. I went in thinking typical vamp book but was very wrong!!
This story has romance and mystery that makes you think along the way. I truly felt emotion for the characters which is odd for me at the start of a series (start for me even though its book 3)
Take a chance on this one you will not be sorry.
I received this arc to voluntarily give an honest review.
I received an ARC of this story through Hidden Gems and this is my honest and voluntary review. This book was amazing. It's not often you read something that seamlessly manages to combine sci-fi with paranormal fantasy and romance with murder mystery. Not only is this an enthralling mix of all these elements but even as the third book in the series the author manages to make the book enjoyable and understandable to even someone who hasn't read the previous books, like myself. I will definitely be reading the previous two books now though! Sebastian Montero is an intriguing take on an immortal character and I really enjoyed how snippets detailing his past and first love were entwined with the present where he is struggling to save his new love... and, oh, the ending..!
When I started this book I wasn’t sure about it as it seemed a little confusing in the first couple pages. I will admit I haven’t read any of the rest of the series so for a minute thought that might be the trouble. After the first little bit it flowed well and pulled you into the story. There was enough information given that it did not matter that I hadn’t read the previous books. I did enjoy the concept of this book with an immortal and vampires done a little differently. I liked the flash backs as they made you get more in touch with the main character. I would read more of this author. I did receive an ARC copy from Hidden Gems for an honest review.
I liked this book. The characters were very interesting to explore. I really liked the past life of Sebastin than his present life. on the other hand, I did not like the evil villain in this story. She only wanted the main character body. overall, I hope the author continues to make more books on this world.
This is the third book in the series but can be read as a standalone. I didn't read the first two books but ready enjoyed reading Ghosts of Atlantis. A different take on a fantasy novel with great storyline and characters. I voluntarily received this book to review for my honest opinion.
A good way to end the series. I will confess to having a a bit of a problem with the medieval marriage ages. I realized that age differential was not big in those days, but😊 it did have a slight ick factor. On the whole, a satisfying conclusion.
I must say I am almost disappointed the Montero series has drawn to a conclusion. Having said that, it was a quite satisfying ending. Read the series. It's a unique twist on the world of Vampires and the supernatural.
I sure hope there's another book or two in the future with this series. Fantastic characters with evolving depth and a fast-paced plot makes for a very enjoyable read!
I found myself staying up late b/c I wanted to know what happened next. I loved learning more about the characters and their values. This book can be read alone but recommend reading the books in order. I am hoping that the series doesn't end here. I highly recommend reading the series.
I really like the characters and plots, and I’m enjoying the historical backstory. Just a little more fact-checking. Courvoisier in the 1400s? Celebrating Christmas and Easter? Not as big holidays, not back then. Anyway, keep going!
I love the looks back into his life with Karina. It makes him such a more vibrant character m. I wonder how much of anything were going to see if future Montero to answer questions that I won't answer here.
This series has everything you can imagine. More than Worth the two days it took to read the trilogy. It left me wanting so much more of Sebastian Montero.
