Ben Cowley’s been Melissa’s secret fantasy for the last two years. They’re all alone in the deserted offices of Preston Elks, and Melissa is tired of being a workaholic high achiever. Just for tonight, she wants to be different.
The last thing Ben expects while working late one night is his serious, straight-laced colleague doing a striptease for him. Melissa turns his balanced world upside down with her offer of no-strings-attached sex.
After an amazingly explosive night, he realizes a brief affair with Melissa is not enough, but she’s already clicked back into her distant and professional mode.
Ben will do whatever it takes to convince her they could be so much more, even if it means inviting another man into their bed.
Jess Dee lives in beautiful Sydney, Australia, with her husband, their two sons and their insane dog - a ridiculously overweight puggle named Luigi.
An avid romance reader since her early teens, Jess knew one day, when she grew up, she’d have to write her own love stories. It might have taken a while, but in December of 2005, she finally got “the call.” Her first book, Photo Opportunity had been contracted. Now you can’t hold her down. She’s completed a whole host of books, and is finally doing the work she loves most— writing romance.

I really liked this book a lot. The beginning was not the best but as the story moved along it grabbed me and kept me very interested. This was a book about two lonely souls that truly learned what is important in life and in the end grabbed what they needed for a satisfying ending.
Warning this book is a very HOT AND STREAMY READ with M/F and M/F/M scenes.
So I originally chose this book because I need a book with an office setting. Which it qualified for, but to be honest the description did not really appeal to me, but I decided to give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised. While it did take a couple of chapters to get into, it turned out to be a fun read. The book's particular featured kink isn't really my thing, but the sexy times were interesting to read. The romance story in the book is where all the good stuff is though in my opinion and what made the book worth reading.
"When everyone's gone home-like they have now. Then we can act differently."....."And then, Ben, feel free to act however you like."
Colleagues for two years, Melissa has always fantasized about Ben. About being with Ben and when the opportunity presents itself, Melissa is finally willing to take the plunge and seduce him.
Ben has always been aware of Melissa, I mean he has worked with her for two years. But until one late night in his office, he never really noticed Melissa, not in that way. But boy oh boy does he notice her now and it. is. HOT!!!
You have to admire this chic's confidence, not knowing whether or not he would reject her, her reply is simply:
"You should know by now I never jump into any deal without doing a background check first. I watched you, observed your reactions. Carefully. The second I pulled the clips from my hair, your eyes turned a shade darker and your cheeks reddened."..."Your breathing has been uneven ever since. And now? Now it's just plain ragged. And that Cowley, is a huge turn-on."
GO Melissa! We salute you and how confident in yourself you are! To read a man's reactions and KNOW he wants you, bravo!
Benny Boy. Although he did some things that had me *smh*, he was still a sexy man:
"I can't get enough of you, sweetness. When you're not around, I need to be with you. And when you are around I just want more."
SWOON!
This was such a cute short read. Even though there was some very off the charts steamy goodness, it had a sweet story between two people who didn't know what they wanted until they found it in each other. Who didn't know they had demons to overcome until they found out how to truly overcome them with the support of that one person who really gets you. Who really sees you.
4.5 stars from me! I wanted and craved more of Ben and Melissa's story. Although it was a short read, the story did have resolve and I really enjoyed that aspect of it...and lastly...There were some very hot twists thrown in... which I will give you the "pleasure" of reading for yourself (pun definitely intended!)
Warning: This book contains a man haunted by his past decisions, a woman determined to succeed, sex hot enough to steam up every office window on the block, and a voyeur who gets off watching those windows steam up!
I was a Jess Dee virgin, and after reading this one, I plan on becoming a Jess Dee slut! OMFG! This book was smokin' HAWT! Make you grind in your chair, wanna take a cold shower, grab your B.O.B, or jump your significant other on sight!
Melissa is a woman that has set goals in her life, and will let nothing stand in her way, such as a relationship. However, she does have needs, and approaches hottie co-worker Ben and asks if he would like to be f*ck buddies. Their steamy affair starts out with no-strings, but soon Ben and Melissa start to realize they are developing strong feelings for each other. Ben will do anything to make Melissa happy, and once he discovers she has a fantasy of being with two men...well, you'll just have to read the book ;)
A couple of my fav quotes/scenes: "Ya know, I used to think a hard dick was the sexiest thing about a man." Melissa's voice was a touch lower than usual now. "But now, I'm changing my mind. Now I'm thinking the sexiest thing is a man who wants me to do what makes me happy."
"You don't f*cking get it, do you, Sparks?" Out of sheer frustration, Ben thwacked the wall with his hand. Hard. So hard his palm stung. "I love you. I am so goddamned, madly in love with you, I can't see straight." Ben's voice resonated through the offices, echoed in his own ears. "You're the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing I imagine before I fall asleep. I dream about you. Every single night. I live to see you, at the office, at home, anywhere. I just need to see your face. Hold your body. Touch your skin. I need you, Mel. More than I need air. You can't walk away from me. You can't love someone else."
Cover & Title - 5 out of 5, love the cover :) Favorite Line - "You’re the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing I imagine before I fall asleep. I dream about you. Every single night. I live to see you, at the office, at home, anywhere. I just need to see your face. Hold your body. Touch your skin. I need you, Mel. More than I need air. Okay so there was a lot of sex and not a whole lot of story but yet the story still held enough that i remember it & i was interested in it as well as the sex scenes. The book itself was pretty kinky with the voyeurism, anal sex & the three way. I thought most of the sex scenes were very hot. I liked the characters & I actually enjoyed the story element of the book too.
I would recommend this book & I would read more by this author.
Jess Dee is an author who continually surprises me with how good her books turn out to be. Jess’s books always delivers a scorching hot read, and I mean scorching HOT! And together with that she also delivers that unbeatable combination of well developed characters that totally call out to you and mixes it all up with enough emotion to really make the story worth your while. And let me assure you, Office Affair is no exception to that rule!
Office Affair tells the story of the no-nonsense, one hundred percent goal oriented Melissa Sparks who has lusted after her sexy as sin colleague Ben Cowley from afar for far too long. Ben is a changed man, a man who has had his heart destroyed. Ben doesn’t know what else to do but bury himself in his work and ignore the gaping hole in his heart that hasn’t seemed to heal. And then Melissa turns up at his doorstep, offering herself to him, a strictly no-strings attached sex fest which should have been a dream come true for a guy like Ben who likes his relationships short and without any complications. But then, neither Melissa nor Ben takes into account that strange feeling that takes a hold of you and gives you something worth to hold on to and that is exactly what happens to both of them as their affair burns hotter and brighter than the burning sun.
Office Affair revolves around a lot of sex scenes, all of them top notch and over the top hot that I couldn’t get enough of them. That is why I keep repeating like a broken record that Jess certainly knows what she is doing when she delivers readers with erotica that goes straight to your blood! Ben is such a sexy, sexy, sexy man! He turned my insides to mush with his possessive streak, turned me on far more than I can remember being turned on by a book and left me wanting more, which is exactly how I love my heroes. And Melissa turned out to be such an endearing heroine, whose inner vulnerabilities called out to me and made me yearn for her happily ever after as if it were my own.
Beneath all the searingly mind blowing sex scenes lies the story of two characters who are broken in their own ways, both of them finding that healing touch that makes their future one filled with promise and happiness. For those who are squeamish, there is a menage scene tossed into the story which proves to be a pivotal point in Ben and Melissa’s relationship. And as always Jess handled everything so well that even I, who stay away from menages loved what took place when Ben gave Melissa everything she would ever want and more during that one night of unbeatable passion.
If you are a fan of Jess Dee, I don’t think you would require any further urging on my part to read Office Affair. If not, give Office Affair a go. You would not regret it if you love your sex melt-your-panties-off-hot and the story with enough emotional punch to leave you with a huge smile on your face once the ultimate conclusion is reached. Recommended!
Okay, perhaps I've overloaded on trashy novels lately, but how, and I really want to know the answer to this, HOW is it possible that every person who decides to randomly have sex with another person discovers that, a) they have a secret sex life involving threesomes and/or exhibitionism OR BDSM OR voyeurism? and b) that they LOVE this strange person because of one or two encounters of mind-blowing sex?
Also, I would just to debunk the notion that women can have nine orgasms in a single sexual encounter -- as in, within the course of like, HALF AN HOUR. I don't feel like I'm degrading my own sexcapades by admitting that no, no I do not have nine or ten orgasms on the reg, nor have I ever FAINTED DEAD AWAY because of the intensity of the tenth. NOR HAVE I EVER ORGASMED ON DEMAND BY A STRANGER IN A THREESOME.
God, you'd think these books are UNREALISTIC or something.
This book was just ok for me. The "Steam" factor was very very good! I do like my steam so that wasn't my issue. I found the storyline to be lacking. As well, they fell in love with each other at the snap of your finger and I prefer a little more depth than that. If you are looking for a fast sexy read than this is the book for you. Sometimes, that is all I am looking for but I do like a little more depth.
Another great read by Jess Dee. The one romance that everyone says not to have, an office romance. It makes everything crazy when it doesn't work out. But Ben and Melissa decided to play with fire and it ignited. Such a nice and easy read relaxing by the pool.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
Jess Dee sure does know how to write a steamy romance. First off, it took me a while to realize this was Ben from , but I'm glad I read Island Idyll so I had a little bit of background on how Ben was feeling.
This started out with Melissa seducing her co-worker Ben on a night they were both working late. She'd had a crush on him for years. But Ben had been engaged. And after his engagement fell through, he relocated to work in her office, and her crush ratcheted up a bit. So they're both very talented, extremely driven investment bankers. And Ben has been "not Ben" since he moved to her office. She thinks he needs to get laid. She doesn't know he's been having casual threesomes with his good friend, Will. Not emotionally fulfilling, but it takes the edge off. Melissa is very persistent, and Ben caves, and one taste isn't enough. But Will, who works in the building across from them, had a front row seat for the first time. And when Ben tells Melissa this, it turns her on, and they play exhibitionist to Will's voyeur several times.
In Island Idyll, Ben followed his ex-fiance Sienna to Bandicoot Cove. He plans to win her back, but doesn't realize she's already fallen for a guy she used to know. Thinking he would win in a competition with the other guy because of his history with her, he suggests a threesome. And then Sienna chooses the other guy. Which crushed Ben. Ben knows Melissa finds the idea of a threesome arousing, so he sets it up with Will, even though he knows the psychological fallout from his threesome with Sienna caused him lots of trouble the first time. Could he really share Melissa, who he's fallen in love with, with Will? He will if that's what she wants.
And then things briefly take a turn for the better, and then the worse.
While I've told a bit of the story above, how it ends is ultimately the best part of the book. Plus, you get some really hot, juicy sex scenes along the way. Ben and Melissa are explosive together. And Ben trying to get Melissa to see how she can truly be happy (she's just sort of been existing) is so great. How Ben turned what was supposed to be "no strings" into a torrid love affair was also great. And I loved the ending, though I would have LOVED an epilogue. Sometimes I want an epilogue because I didn't get enough story, but in this case, it's because I want to know where they ultimately go. I'm hoping we'll get a story about Will where this couple plays a small part.
Office Affair is yet another HOT book by Jess Dee!! This is definitely a book that will get you hot and bothered. She once again grabs you from beginning to end with a great story of how two people deal with the hurts and failures of the past.
When we first meet Melissa she is walking into the office of the coworker she has been secretly attracted to for the past few years. She knows he went through the break up from hell, and is determined to get her chance to be with him even if it is only for a short time. She tells Ben that he needs to get laid in order to get out of the funk he has been in since his break up. As she tells him this she is doing a sloooow strip tease that ends with some of the hottest desk sex I have read in a long time. The sex between them is beyond hot. There is a little extra hotness when Ben’s buddy, Will, who works in the building next door watches everything they are doing. The idea of having him watch them turns Melissa on more than she ever thought it would, especially when she finds out Ben & Will’s past of sharing women.
Although the sex is the best she has ever had Melissa is determined to keep things just sex and everything else just business as usual. She refuses to let this relationship distract her from her goal to become a partner in there firm. Ben wants none of that. After a week of meeting only in his office late at night after the rest of the coworkers have cleared out, he starts a campaign to win not only more time with her but her heart too. This is no easy task, she has walls built up due to past hurts and failures, just when you think he is making progress with her, his past come back to haunt him. The rejection of an ex-fiancé choosing another man over him comes close to tearing them apart, but Melissa isn’t going to allow that.
I really enjoyed the emotional journey these two go on together, and you never get a break in the smoking hot sex. A lot of times when you have a book this steamy the story tends to get left behind, but not with this one. I find this book to be a definite must read!!
You know the old saying "Never judge a book by its cover?" Apparently, it goes both ways. I actually thought that this novel would be pretty good (the synopsis doesn't leave much to be desired) but when I actually started reading this I just knew I did the wrong choice.
This is a breakdown of the 50% I read, before I decided to just give up.
Chapter One: they have sex. Chapter Two: they have sex and she has sex with herself at the end of the chapter. Chapter Three: they have sex with toys. Chapter Four: they have sex while Ben's creepy colleague is watching them. Chapter Five: they have sex and he starts wanting sandwiches. Chapter Six: they talk about having sex. Chapter Seven: they have sex, while the creeper is watching them again. They have phone sex. Chapter Eight: they have anal sex. She goes down on him. And suddenly he falls. in. love. with. her.
I had to quit reading this book because it was literally pissing me off. Absolutely no plot. Flat characters with ridiculously written backgrounds. Said characters have completely bipolar tendencies that absolutely drove me c-r-a-z-y.
I'd recommend to someone who really, really, wants to read sexually descriptive scenes.
Just finished it. I loved it. Well, the sex was super hot and Ben was really cute. Plus who would say no to an Office Affair like that? It was really hot. The only thing I didn't like so much was the end. I would like a bit more information or an Epilogue of a few years after or something. Other than that I loved it.
Meet Melissa and Ben, two hard working investment bankers who were colleagues but never friends. But recently Ben’s productivity has dropped and Melissa thinks she knows how to help him – a quick office affair strictly physical of course, only in the office, after everyone has left. But while Melissa doesn’t want anything too complicated, Ben thinks its time to take a chance. Now this was a super quick read, but I have to say that I was actually sad that it ended and I would love to get another chance to see these two be in an actual couple because while there was a lot of interaction between these two, we never saw them be together. Still they captured my heart, Ben was so cool and collected, he knew what he wanted and even when Melissa was unwilling to give it to him. Melissa was such a determined, and motivated young woman and I could really identify with, and Jess Dee made her such a dynamic and beautiful character. She had all these insecurities and fears, but she was so determined to succeed in EVERYTHING that she put these aside to get what she wanted.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants an easy, sexy, quick fun read especially if you do work in the corporate environment (cause there were some really fun ideas in there).
This is a first time for me and Jess Dee. I have seen some books of her out there but never really stoped to read. This time I went totally for the cover. It was a great choice. I loved! Melissa is a workaholic, she doesn't have a life outside her job and her goals. There are things from her past that makes her feels like she NEEDS to be always on top on her work. Ben Cowley works in the same company, and is also a workaholic, however he's not the same since his 8 years long girlfriend broke up with him. (At Island Idyll) One day at the office, Mellisa decides to seduce Ben and propose an affair - on her terms - and he can't be more ready to accept. And I can't forget about Will, one of my favorites peeping Tom. Soooo sexy! :D
What did really surprised me it was how deep this story is. I thought it would be only some kind of wam-bam-thank-you-ma'am-i'll-love-you-forever. There was time however for their feelings to grow, and for them to really know each other. I totally recommend it!
Okay, I'm a guy, so yes, I really, really enjoy the fucking awesome fucking, and the more blistering hot sex scenes there are, the better. The dude got a bit too cheesy for me, but all the vivid and blazing sex more than made up for it, especially the menage a trois. I must admit the love angle didn't give me the squeamish feeling I usually get when I read a love story, but the bottom line is, this was still a love story and a very decent one at that.
Whoa...this was one freaking hot sexy read! Ben and Melissa's "affair" is at first just a sex only relationship within the confines of the office late at night. The chemistry between the two had me fanning myself. I was also hoping that they'd realize there was more between them than just hot & sweaty sex.
When Will comes into the picture, I did not expect what was going to happen but worried what the end result would be.
The premise was good..until the last sentence. Yep, that made me skimming until the last page. I don't bother while people enjoy reading threesome, but I didn't enjoy it, I still don't. This personal argument made me want to jump, either Ben and Mel together at last, or not. Happy ending saved this book 3 stars from me.
From now and then a girl needs an easy read like this-sweet & sexy & romantic, no worries, no bigger problems...This book is an example of that-simple as that:)...nothing 'intelligent' more to say about it.
I hated Ben in his previous book, but I liked him in this one. I loved him at first, wanted to punch him, and then liked him at the end. Mel was great, if very oblivious at one point. A good book.
Interesting idea, but this is one of those books where the author/narrator tells you what the characters feel and do as opposed to showing you. I started skimming pretty early in the book and just reading the conversations.
On a more personal note, so what if the heroine is driven to succeed and wants to focus on her career? The hero makes it seem like having a fiancé or "someone to keep you warm at night" is the most important thing in the world. Let the woman dedicate herself to work if that's what she wants to do!
And Sienna the ex-girlfriend came up on every page! This hero is clearly still obsessed and in love with his ex. In fact, after really dissecting the writing, it's not really clear that he now only loves the h. Sienna even came up on the last freaking page of the book! I bet if she actually showed up, the H would drop the h in a heartbeat. A story about the H and his ex probably would've been better.

*face palm* really? Where is the story, the character buildup, etc.? It’s lacking across the board. I see people who have read this “story” giving it a 5 star while acknowledging it had none of that...just tons and tons of sex. That’s all this was. And so freaking unrealistic it’s laughable. So for those that enjoy that then this would be the book for you...for the rest of us this is just a no-go as we need and want so much more. Such a disappointment and waste of time.

Ben felt his life had ended when his fiancée left him due to working all the time. As a way to try to save his failing relationship he cut down the hours he worked but it didn't make a difference. Melissa watches patiently as he tries to continue with life but feels despair at Ben's lack of happiness. He merely exists day to day. After working one night she sets out on a path to get what she has secretly desired. It started off as an affair that occurred after hours but it slowly bloomed into what they both needed to survive.
This story is about 2 people with failures in their past that were devestating for them and they each closed off their personal feelings to get through life. Melissa failed high school and her parents on her constantly to be successful. Ben lost the girl he thought he loves to another man after he introduced her to a 3some. Melissa and Ben have now worked 2 years together and have a friendly working relationship. Little do they know each one is starting to have feelings for the other.
