It was Legend of Yun Xi that led me to this novel. My main motive while taking up this novel was to see whether Han Yunxi lived in the end, to see whether the couple got a happy ending. But never have I ever thought that this book would give me so many surprises. The slow burning romance between Long Feiye and Han Yunxi, the friendship between Gu Qishao and Han Yunxi, the ultimate brotherhood between Long Feiye, Gu Beiyue and Gu Qishao. Each and every difficulty, all of the pains they endured to ensure that the people of the continent could live in peace was portrayed beautifully in these 1370 chapters. Though the novel ends at a cliffhanger, the sequel has already given the answer to my worries. Yes!!! all of them have a happily ever after.
This novel was worth the time and we can relate to each of the characters. Be it Long Feiye, Han Yunxi, Gu Qishao, Gu Beiyue, Tang Li, Ning Jing, Mu Linger, Jin Zi, Ning Cheng, Qin Min or Han Chen, each of them had a story to tell and they are all examples of what it means to love, care and be loyal to your friends and family. Each of them came from different backgrounds with their own difficulties and problems, but they made a family that lasted forever - A family made of just love.
This novel was worth the time and we can relate to each of the characters. I found this book after watching Legend Of Yunxi and it was the greatest thing i've read. I always say that the books are better than the movies and i was right. I like reading slow burn romance and this story surpassed all other. It has strong characters, very well written plot line and quite a few side plots that somehow intertwine with eachother and the main plot at some time. Also, the details are well thought; respect to the author for thinking up so many plot twists and characters and keeping it going for so manuy chapters. Now........why did it have to end on a cliffhanger?! Why? I started reading the sequel but...............i think the translation was done by google translate. The names are mixed up, the dialogues are all jumbled and sometimes i have the impression that i'm reading about a person when in fact i've been reading about a place or a scene or something. Also Han Yunxi And Long Feiye's daughter in this book resembles too much Su Xiaoyu and i wasn't very fond of her in the first book. All in all, i love Poison Genius Consort so i've read all the chapters multiple times already; I hate that it ended in a cliffhanger after all this time and i hate that the sequel is so badly translated that i barely made it through the chapters to finally reach the scene where the old characters appear, especially Long Feiye and Han Yunxi

This book will be close to my heart.
The characters the plot everything.
Many people would agree say its normal common story but for me its much more.
I started reading this when the drama was released later i caught up with translation but i stopped reading after not because i didn't like it but because i was not someone to wait every week for updates but read in long time.
This year i picked it up again determined to finish it. Took me 5 months to finish it. Now i feel so empty. They will always stay in my heart. There's so many things that will stay with me forever but mostly
Long feiye's "still not leaving?" Tops it all.

I stopped around the stages when Yuxi was finding about her heritage and ML was being an arsehole to her and everyone around him. Even more so when he knew he was attracted to Yunxi but still hurt her. Ngl, I enjoyed the drama adaptation of it more.
No chance I'm returning to this novel. Tried three times. Dropped every time.
