Plavu prsa a občas znak a obojí vyžaduje něco trošku jiného.

Nestačila by nějaká tyč? Nechybí spousta alternativ, lehčích i těžších variací. Ilustrace desetihvězdičkové.

Mám z toho úplně chuť jít plavat. 8-)

This is a training manual for swimmers in a gym. The narration is not an easy one, could be written in less complicated way for everyone interested. Worth to flick through the pages containing precise and vivid pictures of body muscles to get to know more about human anatomy.

Swimming Anatomy is designed for those swimming competitively but it is a great introduction to the muscles used in swimming and how to train on land to further develop specific muscles and the overall body. The book is divided into body regions with an introduction/overview for the muscles in that region, followed by exercises targeting those muscles. The exercises provide instructions, a swimming focus, and include drawings with primary muscles and secondary muscles color-coded. Some variations of the exercises are also included. Each exercise is also coded for the strokes -- freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly along with starts and turns. The Introduction gives the framework for the book and includes considerations for swimmers based on age.

The writing is clear and while anatomical langue is used, the drawing clearly indicate where the muscles are and how they are used in the swimming movements.

There are 8 chapters, with chapters 2 - 7 focused on a body region which include exercises for that region. Chapter 8 is for Whole-Body Training and includes exercises that involve the entire body. There is an Exercise Finder, listing all the exercises and an About the Author section.

I recommend the book for all swimmers, not just competitive swimmers.

I finished the book over a week ago, but on the other hand, I haven't. It's the kind of book you end up consulting all the time. An excellent (beginner's) guide to weight training for swimmers, but the concept is applicable to just about any sport. It was also my first glimpse at sport specific weight training program design, and I found it very interesting. Definitely worth reading; one of the best book purchases ever.

This is an outstanding resource for coaches to the extent it can augment your training. You cannot expect to read this and become an expert but as a long-time competitor and coach who is otherwise trained, I find this to be an outstanding resource and a fine reference for my swimmers, many of whom are filled with questions.

Great guide for coaches and swimmers alike! There are some really great exercises in here and I love how it shows you exactly which muscles are being worked and how much. My only problem with this book is that a lot of the exercises require gym equipment so most of them wouldn't be good for an at-home workout. Overall really good and informative guide.

Great guide to exercises on different muscle groups. It also shows how the exercised muscles benefit different strokes.

You might think this is a book that teaches you how to swim, well I suppose it does, to a certain extent, but it's more focused on exercises and drills that help you become a better swimmer. It's more of a book that teaches you different exercises and the muscle it affects in the context of how it helps you improve speed, endurance, and strength in swimming.
