My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, and no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I have bought this book because I loved it, and I own most of Zoe’s books!

The cover looks awesome!

This is a standalone, but it does share similarities with some of her other books with dragons having to find their mates by 25 years old or they don’t get one! Zoe Chant is one of my favorite authors for a book that makes me feel good because it always has the perfect mix of action and HEA! I love happy endings!

Stefan has had some horrible things happen in his past, and he fears for his life. Holly is stronger than me because I don’t think I could handle things as well as she did. Action packed story, and awesome romance! I loved it!

I highly recommend Zoe’s books to shifter lovers who love HEA endings! Always my go to when I need something uplifting!

Stefan has been in hiding from a ruthless dragon shifter who killed the rest of his clan, he's the only one left. He wasn't looking for his mate because he knows getting close to someone will put them in danger but he can't walk away once he finds Holly.

Holly has lost everything in a short amount of time. Her boyfriend left her, and she quit her job because she thought she was going to be with the guy who left her behind.

Holly decides to rent a cabin in the woods to try and relax and regroup after her life changes. But she meets Stefan out in the woods when she hurts her ankle and he helps her back to her cabin. He even stays with her and gets her some ice for her foot but she isn't used to someone being this nice to her and isn't sure what to make of it. So when Stefan shows her that he might be interested, she jumps at the chance to lose herself in this gorgeous man even if it's only for one night. But Stefan can't say goodbye to her once he starts to get to know her and they form a bit of a bond since they are mates and he doesn't want to leave but staying could put her in danger.

Once the crazy dragon shifter finds them and puts both Holly and Stefan in danger, all hell breaks loose but secrets are reveled and so are the motives to the family feud that has been going on for years.

I really liked the ending and will be reading more of this series.

OMG what an emotional and heartrending read.
Liked Holly and how strong she was to deal with everything she had too.
Poor Stefan, going through everything he has and then his sister Darklis being imprisoned for the same amount of time. Horrible. And all because of one persons ego.
I really wish we had confirmation of Erik’s punishment. Nothing could be good enough to atone for his actions.

This was good, but I'm also in a dragon kick. Can't get enough of these damn dragons!

Stefan was left all alone, his family were all murdered and he was the last of his clan. I felt so bad for him, he really had no one. Until one day he saves Holly from getting eaten by a bear and figures out he finally found his mate.

Only problem is, his enemies are out for blood and want his lineage dead and gone for good.

Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. Stefan's story is heartbreaking, especially after everything comes out and you meet the other evil dragons. Like that head guy was a DICK, ugh I hated him.

There were some parts where I was like "um ok, this is corny" but other than that it was pretty good and I enjoyed it.

For adult readers.
Stefan Novak has lost both parents and his younger sister, along with the rest of his clan, because of a blood feud he was to young to know anything about. The Lukich Clan won't rest until every Novak Dragon is dead.
Yes, this is a paranormal romance about Dragon shifters, but it's still about how lies and deceit can get out of hand because of anger or the need for revenge.

Follow The Signs!!!

Holly Edwards was dumped by her boyfriend and lost her job within a space of a few hours. Heartbroken she decided a peaceful vacation in a cabin was just what she needed. She just about given up on love until the sexy as sin Stefan Novak walked into her life.

Stefan Novak, a Dragon shifter and the last of his clan. He needed to find a mate soon or his lineage would die with him. But even his mate would be in danger from a rival clan, the Lukich dragons who were hunting him.

He gave up on ever finding his mate, Stefan just never expected his mate to come looking for him. When he met Holly for the first time, he knew instantly that she was the one he and his dragon had been yearning for for centuries.

No matter how hard he tried to walk away from Holly, he couldn't cause the mating pull was stronger than anything he'd ever felt before. Also he couldn't bear the thought of leaving her alone after what happened between them. She was his world.

When the enemy came after Stefan, he didn't expect to find Holly yet she was used as leverage. Her captivity relieved many hidden secrets. The twists and turns were a delightful treat.

A MATE FOR THE DRAGON is the first standalone paranormal novel in Zoe Chant's newest series, LOST DRAGONS . It was alluring, well paced and captivating. Two thumbs up and a recommendation for you all to give this book a try.

Exciting new dragon series

Holly just got dumped by her boyfriend of five years. They planned a future together. She just left her job to move away with him when he got a very good paying job, thanks to her, he then decided he didn't need her anymore. After she had supported him when he had no job, he was going on without her. So she decided to go spend a couple weeks at an isolated cabin, in order to forget her problems.
Stefan is the last Novak dragon. His clan was killed over a blood feud with the Ludich clan. The only reason he survived was because he was only thirteen and his mother his him along with a little of their hoard. Stefan stays hidden because he knows that the Ludich clan still searches for him seven years later.
One day his dragon is acting strange and he then has feeling that there is danger. He runs and sees Holly in trouble with a bear. After he chases it off, he realizes she is his mate. He doesn't want amate though because then she will be in harm's way with the other clan.
This is a good book full of love, fighting action, betrayals and forgiveness. I am glad there will be a series of these dragons written. Keep writing and I will keep reading them!

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

I really hope that A Mate For The Dragon one day becomes the beginning of one of Ms Chant’s series. There are secondary characters that I would love to know what happens to, and I believe there is enough story line to make for a very interesting rebuilding of a lifestyle to make for a truly compelling series. Having read her works for a while now I know that often what began as a stand alone story grows into something more, so perhaps one day I’ll get those other stories that are lurking out there. *hopeful smile*

Stefan’s story begins as truly heartbreaking. He’s lost his entire family, his dragon clan to a blood feud that he has no clue as to why it was started. Granted he was a young man/dragon at the time, but even today as an adult looking back it makes no sense to destroy so many lives… for what? His dragon is becoming harder to control in some ways as the day approaches that they must find their mate or be forever alone. Stefan is torn between the need and desire for his mate, and the absolute terror of finding her only to place her life in danger along with his. It’s something he and his dragon completely disagree on… but soon Stefan’s opinion won’t matter as events will be taken from his control.

Holly has come to this forest cabin as a retreat, a place to think and plan her future. The future that is now totally different from what she’d envisioned. As often happens to far too many women, she’d supported her inadequate boyfriend through unemployment, footed all the bills while he did nothing, opened employment doors for him that when his life changed… he no longer wanted her to be a part of it. So now she’s been dumped, laid off from her job and at a loss to know where to turn next. So two weeks in isolation is exactly what she needs. What she also didn’t need was an encounter with a threatening, angry bear… until the stranger stepped in and saved her life.

Stefan knew immediately that he’d found his mate, and his dragon was doing one intense happy dance. And as hard as he tried he couldn’t resist this lovely woman, or walk away when he knew he should. He would have to tell her the whole truth and soon, for every moment she was in his arms she was in danger.

A Mate For The Dragon is an emotional story on so many levels. I read a lot, and I’ve placed Erik into my Top Five Most Vile Villains of All Time category. There is no good reason for this man’s existence, at all. Beyond that comment I’ll let you read for yourself as to why I feel that strongly about this… thing. Holly and Stefan are such a strong couple, they balance his dragon and her human so well that they form one united unit… and isn’t that what mates are supposed to be? I loved them, and I really hope to one day learn more about some secondary characters who have touched my heart as well. I would highly recommend this story for any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader. This is one you’ll want to check out.

I love Zoe Chant books, and I'm a sucker for dragons. So, double win, right there.

But seriously, it was a good read. There was steam, the 'fated mate' insta-love and magic, some draconian politics, and solid fight scenes. The only reason I knocked it down a star was that I never really connected to the leads. I liked them, but it was so short and action filled (in and out of the bedroom) that I just didn't connect with them as much as in some of her other books.

Alternating 3rd person POV. No cheating, no OW/OM drama, no love triangles. Quick paced (150ish pages, after all) which made for a fun afternoon escapism. Enjoyable with likeable characters. I think it was just so fast-paced and quick, that's why I didn't get quite as into the characters. Like an action movie, but as a read, I suppose - fun, fast, entertaining, but not particularly deep. HEA and epilogue, no cliffhangers.

Would I read more? Of course. Zoe Chant is one of my favorites, and this is the start to a new series, so it'll be interesting to see what this world has in store!

This one moved fast and slow at the same time. They're mates and she is human. She also just got dumped so she flits between her feelings until BAM love. They only knew each other probably 2 days until the epilogue so that moves fast. I wish we could have grown their relationship some more before all the action. I was also hoping that she would would become something more but the only she got was some psychic connection to dragons now that she is his mate. She can also give him her strength when needed. No real background on her, nothing about family. Just went to school, got a blah boyfriend, and a blah job.. It was also kind of vague on if he is a virgin. He's been in hiding since he was 13 and he knows about mates so I want to say it's possible. However, he never mentions it and seemed decently good at sex.

The Lost Dragons
Book 1... A mate for the Dragon
Book 2... Fated for the Dragon
Book 3... Destined for the Dragon
Book 4... A. Bride for the Dragon
Book 5... Bound to the Dragon
Book 6... Chosen by the Dragon
Each focuses on a new couple, with no cliffhangers!! They can be read in any order. But characters from previous books reappear in later ones.
Now I'm a BIG fan of ZC's books, so how did I miss this series? I loved this book. I fell in love with this Stefan.
Stefan thought he lost his clan, his family when he was 13 because of a blood feud.
Holly has had the worst of luck. Her boyfriend just broke up with her and she lost her job on the same day. Needing to get away from it all and regroup she decided to rent a cabin and figure out her next move.

Ok, I'm hooked on Zoe Chant right now. Seriously. I've already only just read 2 of her books (both in 1 sitting) and I just want to read ALL her freaking books now. They are EXACTLY what I need to get me
through the next 2-3 weeks before my life is taken over by baby #4 lol

Dragons? A super hot dude? A women who doesn't grate your nerves? Yup, this book has it. And the story line is dot on and intriguing. Seriously, Mated to the Storm Dragon was just as good as this one! I don't think I'll review every one of her books that I read (I always rate the books I read, which I think can speak for itself) BUT I just wanted to put it out there (and for future me) that Zoe Chant is my new go-to author!

I love Zoe Chant!!!!

Zoe Chant has really mastered the Paranormal Romance genre. Somehow, even after writing several dozen books in this category, she manages to keep her storylines fresh and exciting. I have read darn near every book she has available on Amazon, and not once have I felt board nor like I was reading the same book just with different characters.

Stefan and Holly's story is another prime example of just how great Ms. Chant is. There is action, suspense, angst, sadness/grief, and the fabulously passionate love that we've come to expect from fated mates. I highly recommend this book, as well as any or all of her books, you cannot go wrong no matter which you decide to read. Mature eyes only due to violence and hot shifter loving!

Holly was hiding from her recent painful and devastating break up, and Stefan was hiding from his past and his true self in general. And that is exactly when the two of them met and tried to save each other from their pasts in their own way.
The book was okey and, thankfully, did not follow the standard trope that I expected it to follow. Quite the opposite, it surprised me a few times with the approach and direction it took with its plot and I had a nice time reading it.
I still have a few questions even after finishing it, because I feel like some things were just left unsaid and I'm not really a fan of that. But overall, the book and the writing, the characters and the plot, it was all pretty good.

Love the cover!

Hmm... I had such high hopes for this book, but it was boring ... ugh....

Setting was ok, h and H were ok... but .... boring.... sorry
I guess the author really likes curvy women cause her h is a curvy women and the other h’s in the serie are too. I am absolutely not curvy so there is that.

I don’t really care about the body type of h but it was mentioned so many times and I was like ... what is the importance?

After she stayed at cabin, she has no contact with friends or family? And when she joined H and they have a HEA nothing about her friends and family? What about her stuff.... it was just so easy to not mention that at all.

If this is the way the author writes her books I am not interested in the series and other books.... too bad

After quitting her job and her boyfriend breaking up with her, Holly retreats to a cabin in the woods. When his family was slaughter, Stefan was hid and is determined to avoid finding a mate. What happens when Stefan's dragon has other ideas? Will Stefan discover the truth behind his family's death?

Loved it! I've been hooked on Zoe Chant's books since I purchased the first one and this one didn't disappoint! Loved how insecure Stefan was regardless the factor that he was this big bad dragon! Loved Holly's strength despite what she had been through recently and how she just accepts everything. Great book!

Zoe...

Zoe has another winner!
Stefan Novak is a fire dragon and the last of his clan. The others were killed in a blood feud with another clan years before. The clan leader had sworn to wipe out every member of the Novak clan and was too close to the end goal. He needs his mate, but doesn't want to find her as it would put her in danger also.
Holly Edwards is a human who decided to spend a few weeks at a cabin in the forest after losing her boyfriend and job a few weeks prior. Fate has a way of stepping up when things seem impossible.
Things are not always what they seem and they are both beginning to realize it.
Great story with a few good twists, especially at the end!

A Mate for the Dragon by Zoe Chant tells the story of Stefan and his fated mate Holly. He thinks he's the last of his clan, his family having been systematically destroyed by the vengeful Eric Lucich. He knows he's endangered Holly by his claim, but he and she are powerless to resist. Will Stefan find justice in his battle with Eric, or will he and Holly die at Eric’s hand? I encourage you to read and find out. This fast moving story will delight any fan of Ms. Chant as it is a standalone with a satisfying HEA. I received a free copy of this book from the author with no obligation to review.

It never ceases to amaze me how brilliantly Zoe draws you in to her characters and thus her stories, and she has done it again with 'A Mate for the Dragon'. The heartbreak that both Holly and Especially Stefan have faced is devastating, and Zoe will have you feeling their pain with them. I hope this is the beginning of a whole series based of this story, and the events that unfold.

Great start of a new dragon shifter series

I enjoy Zoe Chant's stories, and this one was lots of fun. It is a quick read, but doesn't skimp on character development. Both Stefan and Holly are complex characters and I loved seeing them get to know each other. There were a few unexpected twists and turns in the plot that were a superb addition. This had cool dragon shifters, a good human counterpart, steamy scenes, action and surprises! The ending was great and let us know that much more is planned. I can't wait! Try it yourself and see.

Very predictable

Being very predictable does not necessarily mean that book was bad. Just for me, I like surprises or twists and developed plots. This story is great for a quick read to jumpstart your day, or to just skip the story and get to the naughty bits. Still very well done characters. They weren’t over the top or underdone to be either dramatic or dull. Very balanced and the chemistry was great. Great quick read with of course a happy ending. Not a complete ending, still some questions unanswered, but they will probably be addressed in the next book of the series.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
Holly thought that a vacation would give her a new perspective in life.
Stefan never thought that he would fine his mate.
It seems that fate had other ideas for them.
Stefan tried to deny the mating call, but it was futile.
When danger comes, will Stefan step up to the plate ?
Love always wins.
Great ending!

Another quick easy read, I did enjoy the story because, well....Dragons which I love, but it did feel it had a few similarities to her other Dragon books. Something a bit different in the world building would have been more enjoyable.
A bit of a surprise plot twist at the end that I didn't see coming, always good to get a little something you aren't expecting!! Thanks for that!!
Overall a quick enjoyable easy read.

Enjoyable,Thrilling and Sexy

I truly enjoyed the entire novel and the characters were thoughtfully written. I loved the conversations between both the shifter and his dragon. I also believed in the strength and loyalty of his mate. Naturally, it was the Dragon who first recognised his potential mate. This was made even more believable from the events that happened in his teenage years. Never read a novel in which two people were so made for the other.
