Chloe child, you made it really hard to like you. Yes, I know you were grieving after finding out your twin sister had been murdered 3 years ago instead of running away from her husband and son like everyone thought, but taking it out on the innocent woman to whom your ex brother in law had recently fallen in love with wasn't cool. Thank goodness a man that has worked for you for years, one whom you never truly saw, decided it was time to get involved in your life and make you see how your actions were wrong while also providing you with the comfort and support you needed to get through a horrible time. This man was able to bring out the best in you and helped to also make you see that love isn't about age, ethnicity or labels. His unwavering support gave you back you strength and courage, something you would need as you are the one that figures out who killed your sister.

I was enthralled with this story. My heart went out to Chloe as she tried to come to terms with what had happened to her twin sister. I felt her sorrow, her grief, her anger and her bewilderment. Thank goodness for Chet a quiet but strong man who understood Chloe better than herself. I felt an immediate connection with these two characters and loved reading their journey of discovery as the story developed.

Once again this is another beautifully written story from Leanne Davis who has the knack and skill to tackle difficult subjects and make them fascinating reading.

I loved this series and I loved this story. I highly recommend this to you.

Chloe Carrington is in disbelief after believing that her twin sister Ebony ran away from her husband, Ryder, ad young son, Wyatt for the past three years to only discover that she was murdered. Now she must try and deal with Ryder moving on with Tara and finding her own way and dealing with her grief as well as her parents.

Chet Willapana is a bus boy/dishwasher/janitor at Chloe's cafe and has never even talked to Chloe yet when she is struggling he seems to be the only person who can help her with her grief. Chet seems to know what Chloe needs before she evens knows herself and allows her to grieve and be there for her.

Soon Chloe begins to feel like someone has been in her place and could Ebony's murderer be after her as well? Will Chloe find what she is looking for with Chet when secrets are revealed?

This is another great book in the series and I was really looking forward to Chloe's story after meeting her in the first one.

At the beginning of the last book I really liked Chloe with who welcoming she was with Tara. But with the discovery of Ebony everything changed and I could completely understand why and I really wanted Chloe's side. I knew how much she was hurting and I wanted her to be happy.

I loved how Chet was there for Chloe with exactly what she needed and he seemed to sense so much about her and never asked for anything. He was genuine with how he felt and I was shocked at some of the revelations about him. I loved how Chet made Chloe feel safe and never once thought she was crazy for what she thought was going on with someone being in her house.

The conversation between Chloe and Chet's mom Dok was interesting with so much being said and revealed but I was super proud of Chloe for not making down on how she felt.

I was proud of myself for figuring things out at a certain point in the book and wrote down my suspicions!

There was a point after my guess that Chloe put everything together and I was so happy that she was able to trust that Chet could figure everything out in time!

I was proud of Chloe at the end for her actions and how it saved the life of another!

The end was awesome!

The Remaining Sister

The Remaining Sister is Chloe's story and it starts a little before the ending in The Lost Sister, so I think it would be better if you read Book 9 before this one. It is just found out that Chloe's twin sister was murdered instead of her running away 3 years ago. Chloe is overcome with grief and doesn't know how to handle it. Chet finds her in the restroom. She has a confrontation with Tara at the reception after the funeral for Ebony. Chet hears the confrontation and goes looking for Chloe and takes her home. He is the only one who noticed. He provides comfort for Chloe even though they have really not talked the in the 3 years he has worked for her. Chloe goes back to work and tries to fire Tara, but her whole staff tells her if she does they are quitting. She is told to go home and take more time off work. Chet is the only one who seems to be able to reach Chloe and realize how bad she is hurting. Chloe begins to rely on Chet for many things, but pretty much moves in with him after someone tried to break into her house. Chloe comes to find out Chet is Autistic after Dok has a conversation with her. Chet is afraid Chloe will walk away from him after she finds out, but it opens Chloe's eyes to his uniqueness and how much he has done for her and why. In the end, Chloe has to rely on Chet to understand her text message to him, her life is depending on it, as well as Tara's. What Chloe did at the end of the book, totally redeemed her in my opinion because there were definitely parts of the book, I found it hard to like her. This book has so much in it - dealing with grief, Autism, a stalker/killer, so it has many twists, turns and surprises. I did know who the killer was, and was so happy when Chloe figured it out too, before it was too late. Another great book by Leanne Davis.

This is the story of Chloe and Chet. In book 8 of this series, Chloe finds out that her twin sister was actually murdered and didn't just run away from her family, and now it seems as though the killer is trying to come after Chloe. Will she discover who the killer is before it becomes too late?

I had a really hard time getting through this book. I have read and enjoyed every single other book in this series until this 1, but it took me almost a 1 1/2 months to finish Chloe's story. I didn't really care for her character in the latter part of book 8 so having an entire book based on her was a bit difficult to read. She was grieving, I get that, but she became this completely horrible and selfish person, and I just couldn't find it in my heart to feel badly for her beyond the obvious sadness that I would feel for someone who lost a loved 1. Not to mention the fact that she just kept harping on the fact that she was grieving and how she felt and how everyone else should feel. That being said, I loved the other characters in this story...Chet, Ryder, Tara, and everyone else who wasn't Chloe.

Onward to book 10...

Mystery, real life issues, and overcoming heartbreak all in one.

This is my first book from the author and of the series. It was interesting.

The story wasted no time at all to get started and was instant drama and angst and I need to know more and what's happened. Good sign.

Then it kinda drug on for me. There was a lot of kinda, like internal monologue, self-reasoning from the heroine that kinda made the story drag on for me. I think it could've been half of what it was and still be good.

The book had a good premise and the underlying love story was one that I really liked.

The end was pretty good. I saw it coming, but was still intrigued and liked how it played out. Nice twist for the story.

Overall, I enjoyed it. I wish some parts were stronger than others and that some weren't as monologues, but the overall was good.

Chloe has discovered her sister was murdered and didn't just abandon her family 3 years ago as they thought. Her grief is destroying her and no one seems to be able to be able to help her except Chet. Chet has been her employee since not long after Ebony disappeared. They have rarely spoken and she realizes she has hardly noticed him. Can Chet help Chloe learn to live again.

The Remaining Sister is a continuation of The Lost Sister. I loved these characters. Book 9 has it's characters dealing with grief that is almost destroying their lives. Leanne Davis takes some really tough circumstances for her characters to deal with. These are situations that real people find themselves in and can relate to. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

Ms. Davis knows how to shine a light on relevant issues, and she does so wonderfully with a main character in this book, Chet Willapana. You know right off that he's not your standard love interest, and the way he speaks and interacts with other, including the broken woman he's been crushing on for the past several years, does not flow like your standard romance or even contemporary story. Once his story is revealed, everything clicks into place for the reader, and makes for a much richer story. I enjoyed this book with the intense and suspenseful plot, but I will say that I had a very hard time connecting with the main character, Chloe Carrington, For most of the book she comes across as entitled, spoiled, and completely self-centered!

I loved reading The Remaining Sister by Leanne Davis. This book flew by. It's a page turner that will keep you guessing who is Silver Creeks murderer. This book goes back over the ending of The Lost Sister, from Chloe's point of view. It moves forward from that point. This book the beautiful bond that Chloe and Chet form. What starts out as an odd friendship turns into one beautiful relationship of understanding, honesty, love, compassion & empathy. I was blown away by who the killer was and the reason why.
Chloe finds her own happy ever after. It was with one of the last people she would of ever suspected. I'm looking forward to reading the final book in the Sister Series, The Step Sister.

Chloe Carrington is a community icon, running the local cafe, even after her twin sister and partner disappears. The story starts with the discovery of her missing sisters body and the mystery begins. I changed my mind on the killer 3 times while reading this story and I didn’t figure it out until right before Chloe was sure. Lots of relationship twists and turns, some expected and some unexpected.

Chloe and Chet

This ended up being a great book. I really hated Chloe the first 100 pages. She was a complete bit€h. And Chet...I love him! This one has drama and suspense, a grieving sister, grieving parents who have checked out, a mysterious employee who takes care of his boss and lets her grieve, a stalker and killer. Who will be the next victim?

Remaining Sister

I had a hard time connecting with Chloe and accepting how she treated Tara. It took me a while to want to know what happened with her. This book is different from the rest cause Chet isn’t the typical alpha or bad boy. He’s always just been there. How he is hits close to no,e with me too. When we got to the end I was so surprised! That twist!

Not sure how this author keeps doing this. This book was filled with emotions. Chloe thinking her sister took off 3 years ago and left her family behind only to find out she was murdered. Chet who helps her get through all of this is something else. Loved how the author kept us wanting more and making us have to get to the end to find out what happens.

I took a little while to warm to this book, but once I’d read a little, I was sucked in. This is about Chloe who was Ebony’s twin sister... they’ve found her body, and the family go from thinking she left, to dealing with her death.
Chet Work’s at the cafe and has been mentioned in the last book, he’s a no nonsense guy, who doesn’t always interact much, unless he knows you... he turns out to be Chloe’s saviour...

Another brilliant instalment in this series :)
