Born in Los Angeles, but now a native of beautiful New York, I love spending her days writing in Central Park. Growing up, I was always a fan of paranormal and fantasy books. From dragon shifters to fae, I was obsessed with creating detailed and expansive worlds.

Having spent my entire career as a chief editor for a popular fashion magazine, I finally mustered up the courage to start publishing my own books. I hope to use my words to suck you out of reality and take you on magical journeys!

Fire Maiden is an intriguing start to a new series. I’ll mention upfront that some may consider this somewhat of a cliffhanger story, in some ways I’d agree in others not so much. You see, the main story of Frank and Violet does come to it’s conclusion, it also continues on into the next story in the series along with another new couple. So in that sense the main story in one book reaches it’s ending but the overall story continues on… now I call that a series not a cliffhanger. But that’s me… we all have our own personal description of what we feel is a cliffhanger story. Yet because of the overlapping story lines, I would strongly suggest reading this series in order.

Fire Maiden also introduces some new, fascinating shifter lore, which I always enjoy adding new pieces to the puzzle that makes up the shifter world. Frank and Violet make an interesting couple. He’s a 300 plus year old dragon, she’s human with no clue of dragon’s existence. Violet does however have a friend who in a way put Frank and Violet together in a professional manner… maybe hoping for more to happen between. Did she ever get her wish. Claire will have her story told in the next book, Free Spirit, so you’ll get a bit of background on her in this first story as well.

There were times when Violet was extremely frustrating, I do admit to feeling very annoyed with her at times. And you’ll understand that feeling when you pick up this story for your own reading pleasure. Frank knows that Violet will be a special woman in his life, but he makes mistakes and there are misunderstandings so that puts some tension on the growing relationship. Throughout their romance we’ll feel the tensions underneath the surface of strangers asking questions in places they shouldn’t be, strange people showing up where they have no business. This will be the thread that is woven throughout the series, and we’re getting the first taste of it now.

Overall I enjoyed Fire Maiden and will pick up the next story shortly. I do admit that the Kindle formatting of double spaced lines is a distraction for me. It never stops me from reading a book, but I do sigh on the first page of any book with that formatting when I begin the story. I don’t think I’m alone in that reaction. I would recommend this story, the series holds promise and I like the secondary characters that we’re sure to see more of as the series continues.

I read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

For me the beginning is rocky. It is a bit repetitive and rambling. If I wasn't committed to reviewing this , I would probably put this down. It is not giving me the desire to escape into its pages yet.As I am read on, the main character, Violet, innocently runs into Frank, her newly hired accountant at a bar and her reaction seems almost too immature.
Now, with a review that starts off like that, I am sure you are thinking, oh no! As I said, I want to review this, so I read on, and I am glad that I did. The characters finally endear to me, and I thoroughly enjoyed the outcome, and yes, I would like to know the next phase of this story. I mentioned what I felt at the beginning for the same reason some readers want advance warning about cliffhangers, not every style appeals to every reader. And after reading a few of this authors books, she definitely has her own unique approach to things. An interesting quick PNR fix. This voluntary review is based against a Kindle Unlimited copy.

Disliked this book. It had no structure to it, the chapters changed when the point of view changed, which is fine except they didn't fit together well. No grasp of a timeline, everything just happens in what feels like a long string of events with no sense of time. The story will jump from 1 character's point of view to the other character and be the same "scene" but have more commentary that wasn't even there on the other person's side. Except they were talking to each other. Confusing. Jumbled. Many grammatical errors, misspelled words, punctuation, capitalization, and typos.

I personally do not like the double spacing, but that is just me.

Fantastic

What a great read.
The first story is a great short Dragon romance. Very sweet, love the characters.
The second is a book of 4 stories called the Hills. This is a dystopian shifter book that is very well written. The world building and Character development is fabulous. Very well written and enjoyable to read.
Great Author, cannot wait to read more from this one....

A great start to a new series. Loved Frank the dragon and his friends. Violet is a human who owns a jewellery shop. Dragons, trouble brewing and love. This is a very good read and I enjoyed it.

Fantasy meets reality

This lovely story brings smiles and dreams of a love bigger than life. That's Frank. Strength, peaceful beauty. That's Violet. I'm hoping there is a second book to the story because it ended as a cliffhanger.

Good to read

This story was nice. But the formatting sucked. There we we only two line to a page on my Kindle. Author might want to review her work on a Kindle before submitting it.

There are many layers to this book, and this book sets the ground work for, whatever comes next. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series!!
