“Dale, Dale! It’s the ocean! Can we go?!” "Calm down, Latina." It's been two years since the adorable child Latina was saved by first-rate adventurer Dale, and things are going well. Dale decides to return to his home village, Tisrow, and brings Latina along on his journey. Normally mature for her age, the devil girl is surprisingly worked up about her first trip, and the two set out full of excitement. What kind of things will Latina get to see, and can she possibly get ANY cuter? She better not, or Dale's heart won't be able to take it! It's time for If It's for My Daughter Volume 2!
The need to always literally write how cute latina is, was really getting on my nerve. The final straw was when the author needs to mention to the reader how Dale is "already such a splendid father".
It all feels like self insert from a lonely man who wish to have a daughter but written from an unrealistic view. Latina feels like she's always perfect, no matter what.
And how she refers to herself in third person is annoying.
Book 2 covered her time in school with the incident, Dale's birthday month, Rita getting pregnant and their trip to Dale's hometown which was also covered in Season 1 of the anime. Can't wait to start reading book 3. Just my personal opinion while reading both books and the development of their relationship....I feel that both Latina and Dale from the moment they looked upon each other for the first time, that they imprinted on each other and their relationship was not truly that of a foster father and daughter, but something much deeper.
Man, some things get really annoying really fast. Like how Latina keeps referring to herself in 3rd person. She's 10-11 years old Seriously.. stop. Also, we get it... She's cute... No need to mention it SIXTY SEVEN times. Yup, 67 "cute" directed at Latina in a span of 200 pages. That means there is "cute" every 3 pages. Thank you, tho, for throwing in a couple of "charming" there. Book was boring, very. Nothing interesting happened and at 50% I just kept skipping parts. But hey did you know... She's CUTE??? I'm still gonna read the next book, maybe it picks up but I doubt it
With more world building and explanations of that world, volume 2 is a decent read. For the most part, it felt like an entire montage of Latina being cute and Dale reacting to the cuteness. I’m not complaining, but it felt like I was reading about an “omake” episode or chapter of a series. We learned a bit without having the oomph that volume 1 produced.
Also, Dale totally has a daughter complex that will come back to bite him.
Not as strong as the first book, the author tends to drag on explaining things, sometimes rambling on to increase word count.
I still loved the world building, the bits and hints about Latina's heritage and why she was tossed out. I'm still interested in reading on with the series to find out more. It's a fun "slice of life" story.
Fantasy light novel Dale's efforts to provide a home continue, though he's actually gone on quests for the kingdom. The cuteness of the blonde devil girl continues. Keeping me entertained.
Time does skip forward so do know her age is different. But I love the development that is not yet seen in the manga and how the anime differs. It is such a good read and I am absolutely in love with it

Not quite as good as the first volume. I still really like Latina's character and the developing plot, but it just didn't pull me in like the first one did
This one dragged a little more than volume 1 and I wish just something happened. I probably won’t finish the series even though I like Latina and am curious about her past.
So apparently Maes Hughes has been reincarnated as Dale Reiki. Seriously, that was all that I could think of while I read this. Dale is such a doting, obsessed idiot, but like, in a good way.
Everyone spends so much time saying Dale is an idiot that it gets rather tiresome. And apparently they go the Woody Allen route later in the series, so I’m not sticking around for that.
