I don't know if I have ever given a triad book this low a rating and I'm a sad bunny right now.
Honestly, I spent most of this book not giving a shit about Hartley and her relationship with the men (or them with her), but instead spent it with my gut twisted up about Cruz's decades-long unrequited romantic love for Jonathan and how the HELL a threesome was going to work with only one straight male involved (they work with two or none, but one?! Not hardly.).
In fairness, the author did write a few moments intended to "fix" the situation, and readers were obviously supposed to accept her approach and go all-in because we were titillated by the idea of a menage, but I couldn't. I didn't find her resolve realistic and therefore could't let go of my worry for Cruz's character.
Story aside, the editing in this book - or lack thereof - is unforgivable. People pay you for your product; they deserve to get a polished book.
Also, the book ends at 70% on your Kindle to make way for a sneak peek at the first chapter of the next book in the series, and I HATE when that happens! I always feel cheated because I unconsciously use the percentage read marker to help me follow the emotional arc of the characters. If someone throws a hissy fit at the 50% mark, I take it with a grain of salt because it's only a bump on the way to the major issue and the heartwarming resolve. But, if that same hissy fit happens at the 80 or 85% mark, I become more emotional invested because I realize that THIS is the stumbling block to the couple's (or in this case triad's) HEA. So, you know... Ending at 70% made it feel like a blindside to me.
Theirs to Take was the third book in the Blasphemy series by Laura Kaye.
Jonathan and Cruz have been best friends since the beginning of their Navy careers. They share everything together, including their women. They are also two of the twelve co-owners and Master Dominants for Blasphemy, a BDSM club.
Hartley met Jonathan and Cruz when she needed to repair her boat for her private charter business. There were immediate sparks and they quickly learned that they had friends in common - friends who were members of Blasphemy. I liked the path of the storyline - it was exploratory in many ways and depicted the chemistry with all three while simultaneously demonstrating the bond and loyalty between Jonathan and Cruz. Cruz also had some baggage to overcome that added depth to the storyline.
Al in all, it was a quick and entertaining polyamorous read. It was well written with the exception of a few editing errors, but nothing overly distracting. Next up for the series is a pure M/M relationship in On Your Knees.
Sensual. Passionate. Sexy. Exciting. When Laura Kaye does ménage romance, SHE DOES IT RIGHT! I love this series. Each one turns out HOTTER than the last, and THEIRS TO TAKE set the pages ON FIRE for sure! I haven’t read a good ménage à trois in while, so I was ECSTATIC when I heard that Ms. Kaye was giving Jonathan Allen and Cruz Ramos a story together! There is INSTANT chemistry. INSTANT attraction. INSTANT falling hard for these three characters. The Blasphemy Series is becoming one of my favorite series from this amazing author.
”Whatever you want to learn, we can teach you. But the rules don’t matter right now. Except this one - say yes and you’ll have our permission to come as often as you like tonight.”
Jonathan, Cruz, and Hartley are some of my favorite characters from this series. Their chemistry was scorching HOT, and the way those men took charge...I mean, SWOON ALERT for sure! THEIRS TO TAKE is a fast-paced sexy read with a definite happily ever after, but there are situations that these three need to get through in order to come full circle. Hartley is brand new to BDSM and to a ménage relationship. Even though Jonathan and Cruz are best friends, they still hide their feelings. Cruz is dealing with his family dynamic and the fact that he is afraid of not being accepted in his family. So there is a lot going on in a short amount of time but Laura Kaye brings it all together flawlessly.
Very well written with unforgettable characters and insanely hot love scenes, THEIRS TO TAKE should be an immediate one-click for erotic romance junkies everywhere!

Scintillating. Sexy. Bold. Passionate. Laura Kaye has definitely turned up the heat in her newest erotic BDSM installment of the Blasphemy Series with Theirs To Take. If you are not a fan of ménage à trois or open minded about sexual kinks then this book is most definitely not for you. But if you are one of those brave readers who can appreciate a great erotic love story, then I suggest you better get to one-clicking this book now.
Jonathan Allen and Cruz Ramos are two best friends who became friends while they were both enlisted in the NAVY. Today, they both own and operate a sailboat building and restoration company. Not only they are best friends and business partners, they are also two of the twelve Masters of Blasphemy, a BDSM club. Jonathan and Cruz friendship is so deep that they even share their women and engage in threesomes.
Hartley Farren is in a bind. She needs to find someone to fix her catamaran as soon as possible and so when she meets Jonathan, she immediately asked if he could help repair and restore her catamaran. Since Jonathan wants to help Hartley so badly, he has to convince Cruz to get on board. It doesn’t take long for Cruz to agree to help Hartley. As Jonathan, Cruz and Hartley begin to spend more time with each other, lustful, sexual and emotional feelings begins to develop between the three. Soon Jonathan finds himself hoping Hartley will be open to a threesome and luckily for him, she is. As the three engages in Hartley’s first ménage à trois , what happens when deeper feelings begins to emerge? Will one person be finding themselves being left out? Or will Hartley, Jonathan and Cruz discover that this connection all three share is real?
Theirs To Take is an erotic unconventional romance that pushes boundaries of the norm. It was sexy, bold, and erotic as hell. I really enjoyed their story and my only complaint was that I wished it was a little bit longer since I wanted to know more about these three. So if you are looking for a story that was dangerously erotic and sexy, then I suggest you better meet Cruz and Jonathan.
3+ "Us, We, the Both of You, the Three of Us, ect, ect" Stars!
Okay... How to say what I want to say?
The sex was hot; the story was good- even a tad emotional; the characters were likable. And it was pretty light on the BDSM scale- which was great for me. All good right!? Problem. The over used inclusiveness. All three character constantly had to assure the other two they loved, "the both of them". "I want you. The both of you". "Touch me. Both of you." "I looked at X, but turned to Y so they knew they were included too." Yada, yada, on and on. It all seemed to get a tad staged, or perhaps insecure. Or maybe it was just the author preaching acceptance. Love is love is love and all that. I don't know.
Overall it was enjoyable. Quite erotic and quick. Happy reading!
When Hartley first meets Jonathon she is instantly attracted to him, he's friendly, funny and gorgeous. But throw in his best friend and business partner Cruz and it's double impact to her senses. How can she be attracted to two men flitters through her mind. It's crazy but that doesn't stop the erotic thoughts she has.
Johnathon and Cruz run a custom boat building restoration and repair business. That's where they first meet Hartley. But thats not all they do. They are also part owners of the exclusive BDSM Club Blasphemy where they live to pleasure and torment little subs. They both love to share woman. But finding a woman who would be willing to enter into a menage relationship is something they've both dreamed of.
When Hartley finally finds out she's not as put off as they feared she’s nervous but is all in. She knows what she feels for both these men is not something she wants to ignore. It's new, it's scary but it's also something she wants to experience with them.
Cruz has reservations, he's not sure how he will factor into all of this. Why? Beacause he is also in love with his best friend Johnathon. Sure they've shared women together but thats all its been. Cruz has never crossed that line before and Johnathon has no idea that Cruz is also bi-sexual. He likes men but he's never acted on it. A part of himself that he's kept hidden from him and his deeply religious family. They'd never accept it.
It's a journey when these three take the plunge. It's about learning your deepest desires and not being afraid to take a chance. With Hartley's acceptance and encouragement she brings the three fully together.
It sucks you in and it's not about the heat factor or the sexy times, though they are a plus. It's about opening your eyes to a world that some may seem as wrong and dirty. It's about being free to explore your darkest desires without reservation or fear of being shamed. Welcome to Club Blasphemy.
I’d given up on ever receiving the arc for Theirs to Take, so I panicked a little when it finally showed up on my Kindle app 4 days before my review was due to post for this scheduled blitz. With plans for the weekend already in place, my first thought was “I hope it’s short” and my second was “This better be worth it”. I dropped everything and dove right in, and I’m happy to report that yes, it was a quick, easy read and it was definitely worth the aggravation.
Each book in the Blasphemy series has centered around one of the masters of the Blasphemy BDSM Club. Luckily with Theirs To Take we get a sexy two for one story. Jonathan and Cruz are best friends who do everything together and dream of finding a woman who’s willing to not only be with both of them but also be their submissive.
A hurricane damaged Hartley’s charter boat and she’s got to get it repaired within a short timeframe in order to keep her company afloat. Thankfully Jonathan and Cruz own a custom boat building business and even though they have just taken on a new build, they are willing to see if they can help her out.
Sparks fly immediately but the three of them have several issues to work out. Emotion and chemistry run hot between all three of them, and these new feelings need to be worked out if they are to have any hope of a permanent threesome. Add in that Hartley doesn’t know a thing about the BDSM lifestyle and this may be a recipe for disaster.
I liked all three main characters. MMF romances can sometimes miss with the emotional connection but here you can feel it. It helped that they didn’t immediately fall into bed but actually formed a friendship first. Of course, the sexual chemistry is off the charts, especially when Cruz and Jonathan start exploring their feelings toward each other too. I never felt like this was a couple +1 although that was definitely a worry amongst the three of them.
Like the books before it, this dealt with some tough issues. It wasn’t quite as heavy as the first two books, but I think the short length of the book and the fact there were three MC’s made it harder to get as deep into some of the issues as I would have liked. Still, I enjoyed my time spent with the three of them. This was short, quick, hot, and so worth the aggravation of a short deadline.
Rating: 4 Three’s Company Stars
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Laura Kaye wrote a stunning erotic romance bringing us further in the world of Blasphemy and the Dom’s that seem to be falling hard and fast.
Right from the beginning you knew that Jonathan would be the one to bring the three of them together. Hard bodied, soft heart. He thrives on helping people and he can’t help but notice the beautiful woman who definitely needs his and Cruz’s assistance.
Cruz is methodical and agonizingly in love with Jonathan. He knows his family won’t accept him as he is and is not sure if Jay will accept his bisexuality. When he sees Hartley and the look in Jonathan’s eyes, he feels like the intruder but can’t help wanting her as much as Jay. They have shared women before but nothing would compare with what sharing Hartley would be like.
Hartley enjoyed being around both Jonathan and Cruz. She’s grateful for them stepping up, putting their other business aside and helping her. A chance meeting with an old friend and what she finds out will either send her running or keep her rubbing her legs together. But, now that she knows, how will she face them, work with them, stop dreaming about all of them, together, in bed?
Once Jonathan and Cruz find out that she knows about their proclivities and doesn’t run away, they know they have a chance to show her how good things can be with them. And, maybe, just maybe, Jay can finally show Cruz just how he feels about him.
I was happy with how Laura Kaye brought Hartley, Jonathan and Cruz together. With how she told the story of Cruz and his wants. With how she brought Hartley into the BDSM world. Jonathan was the driving force but Hartley was the glue that kept them all together. Watching Hartley open herself up to her submissiveness with Jonathan and Cruz guiding her, was beautiful and heart-warming.
Laura Kaye wrote a touching love story that brought three people together who truly needed each other. She touched my heart with Cruz and what he was feeling. She made me smile with Jonathan’s sweetness and humor. She made me sigh with Hartley’s story. So, all in all, Laura Kaye took my breath away with this beautiful story.

Cruz and Jonathan have been best friends since they joined the Navy together and they've been practically joined at the hip ever since. They now run a sailboat building and restoration business and are also 2 of the twelve Masters who own Blasphemy BDSM club where they love to dominate women together. Hartley comes into their lives when her sailboat is damaged and she's in desperate need of their help to get it fixed before her next big contract. Hartley has never considered a triad relationship before but she finds herself increasingly attracted to the two very different men and when she finds out about what they get up to at Blasphemy she starts to wonder if she won't have to choose between them.
The Blasphemy series is fast becoming my favourite by Laura Kaye, these books have all been ridiculously hot and I love the way she explores a different side of the BDSM lifestyle in each story. All of the Masters of Blasphemy have slightly different kinks and I think these books are a great gateway into the genre for anyone who is curious but doesn't want their boundaries pushed too far. Don't get me wrong Laura will definitely push you but she won't throw you in at the deep end!
Theirs to Take actually takes place mainly outside of the club, there is only one scene set there towards the end of the book, so the progression of the relationship between Hartley, Cruz and Jonathan felt very natural. Sure things happen quite quickly but once again Laura made it so that I just didn't care how fast it was going, I was so hooked on the story that I didn't have a single issue believing in their relationship. I love a good menage story but only when I'm feeling the emotional connection between the characters as well as a physical one and this definitely captured that for me. It's actually right up there with my favourite menage book, Beyond Jealousy by Kit Rocha, and I know it's going to be a story I'll be rereading in the future.
This entire series has been getting hotter and hotter with every book but each story also has a sweet and loving romance in there too and that's probably why I'm enjoying it so much. Fantastic characters, scorching hot sex and more than a few heart melting moments that made me swoon, Theirs to Take was pretty much perfect and I can't wait for the next book in this series.
Hartley finds herself in a bit of a dilemna after a hurricane damages her boat. This is her sole source of income and she desperately needs to get it repaired so she can fulfil her planned commitments. The problem is that she is not the only person in town who needs help and finding someone who can get the job done within the next few weeks is beyond frustrating.
A chance crossing of paths one afternoon has her hope returning. Jonathan Allen co-owns a boat building & restoration business with his best friend Cruz Ramos. Despite the fact that they are already busy and don’t really have time to help Hartley, there is just something about her that has Jonathan agreeing to help her out.
Hartley is pretty much on her own in the world, her father passed away recently, leaving her with the responsibility of running his charter business and taking financial care of her elderly grandmother. She has no other family and has a few friends but nobody that she can rely on to be there for her. Maybe it is the vulnerability that Jonathan sees in her that initially draws him but there is also an inherent desire to take care of her.
When I say take care of her, I’m not just talking about fixing the boat. Both Jonathan and Cruz are part owners of a BDSM club, the are two of the 12 Masters of the club. Their interest in Hartley submitting to them has them both very excited. They have shared women before but this time feels very different. This beautiful girl could be the one they have been waiting for. Hartley is about to experience unimaginable pleasure at the hands of these two men and there will be some unexpected twists for all of them.
This is a short story but full of delicious menage au trois. This is my Friday night treat ☺
Yaaaaassssssss! This book was SO HOT. I've said it before, but BDSM is not my go-to, at all. But I love Laura Kaye, and she has made me love this series. The Blasphemy club, and it's masters, are simply irresistible!
Jonathan Allen and Cruz Ramos served in the Navy together. They're best friends, business partners in their boat building and restoration business, and they are both Masters, and co-owners, of the Blasphemy club. However, they both prefer to scene exclusively together, with a single submissive. Their proclivities are well known at the club, though no one knows if there's anything going on between the 2 of them as well, or if they are all about their shared women. They have just moved into a new work space, and they are working to make friends around their new marina. That's how they meet Hartley.
Hartley Farren runs a charter business on her catamaran. But, after a hurricane comes through the bay, and another boat crashes into hers in the marina, she needs help, and fast. She needs someone who can assess the damage, and guarantee to complete the work in 3 weeks, or her business is most likely done for. Hartley's dad owned the charter business before his death, and it means more to her than anything. Also, much of her income now goes to providing care for her grandmother with Alzheimer's, so she can't lose the business. She is basically alone in the world and needs all the help she can get. She meets Jonathan at the marina office, and he offers to take a look at the boat. He's into her, and wants to help her, so he and Cruz agree to do the work for her.
Jonathan and Cruz do the work for Hartley, and both of them fall for her as they are getting to know her. She is similarly taken with them, but has no idea about their lifestyle, or that being with both of them is even a real option. They have a slow-ish burn, flirting friendship that turns into more, and their chemistry was awesome. I loved how they handled the reveal of their lifestyle and Hartley's acceptance of them, and her excitement in trying new things. I really loved how functional their triad was, and how they each seemed to need each other in different ways. It made them all really feel necessary, and I loved that.
They all had personal issues to overcome in order to be confident in being together, and I loved watching that all play out. They each had their own insecurities when it came to themselves, and their part in the triad, and I liked how they worked together to get through their problems. It was quite an adult relationship, with emotional maturity, and honesty, and that was beyond refreshing.
As always in a series of standalone novels, it's fun to see the characters from prior books, and to catch up with where they are now. I've really enjoyed this series so much, and I love how everyone fits in together. There are still several books to come in this series and I'm very much looking forward to every single one. This series is a major hit for me, and I highly recommend it.

I've had my ups and downs with this series, and with this book and the previous installment, I seem to be in an upswing on my enjoyment of them. Usually in the Blasphemy books, you get a taste of a different BDSM kink, and this story was no exception. The focus in this book is menagé, and it is a bit of an interesting look at this particular lifestyle.
It is very clear in this story that Cruz and Jonathan are in love with one another. They are both extremely likable characters, but it takes the introduction of Hartley to make them admit their feelings for one another. I liked Hartley's innocence and willingness to explore the BDSM culture.
The story itself was engaging and interesting, but it felt a bit rushed. I really felt that things were skipped over or glossed over due to page constraints. The declarations of love were too quick for how long the characters had known each other. It was definitely a case of insta-love and it was the least believable part of the story.
Overall, this is a good installment in the series, and an engaging story as well, despite the slight disappointments that I had with it.
Gah, I love some MMF. This one hit the spot today. Only four stars because I didn't feel the deep emotional connection that I wanted between the F and the MMs. Other than that, solid read.
I didn't mind lust at first sight. Jonathan fell to Hartley and he's ready to help her. Of course, he talks about Hartley to his best friend, Cruz. Jonathan already has the feeling that Hartley could be the one for them. But Cruz seems hesitate with the idea because secretly, he's attracted to Jonathan.
The thing that bothered me is, Cruz feels like a third wheel. He's not really on board with the menage between Jonathan and Hartley. And that's the main problem for me. I only want a threesome without drama. What I mean is, he seemed didn't comfortable with the idea but still going on. Just for Jonathan. Both of them are Dominants but I didn't get the vibe at all.
Hartley is an okay girl so far. She's fun and seems open-minded. Also she's a vanilla and willing to try. However, when Jonathan and Cruz try to seduce her, I couldn't feel their chemistry. It was happened too fast... or what? Idk... The final verdict, it didn't work for me. Maybe I will pick it up again in the future.
I have been a longtime fan of Laura Kaye's Blasphemy series and could not jump aboard (see what I did there?) fast enough. Her novels have the perfect combination of scorching heat and emotional intensity. That is exactly what we got with Theirs to Take with Cruz, Hartley and Jonathan. Their passion was pure FIRE but their connection and deep feelings for one another were on another level. I could not get enough.
Best friends Jonathan Allen and Cruz Ramos share almost everything—a history in the Navy, their sailboat building and restoration business, and the desire to dominate a woman together, which they do at Baltimore’s exclusive BDSM club, Blasphemy. But what happens when they begin to look for a woman to be their partner for keeps? Enter Hartley Farren. Hartley was the perfect woman for them both: strong, sassy, attracted to them both, passionate about her boating business and an independent women in her own right. But will she be able to accept Jonathan and Cruz's lifestyle and join them as a submissive in a triad relationship?
I thought this novel was an amazing addition to the Blasphemy series. Hartley was sassy and sexy and such a great complement to both Jonathan and Cruz. In addition I loved how they all could be themselves and let their vulnerabilities and insecurities show in an open and safe environment. It was also great to see how all three of them fell in love and perfectly were in sync with one another. Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

Just when I didn’t think the amazing Blasphemy series couldn’t get any better, Laura Kaye gifted us series fanatics Theirs to Take.
Hartley Farren is a beautiful, strong, smart, independent woman. She’s succeeded in a man’s world—charter sailing. But sometimes a strong, smart, independent woman needs some taking care of, some TLC, and Jonathan Allen and Cruz Ramos are just the men to do that.
Jonathan and Cruz have been the best of friends and business partners for years. They’ve shared in their successes and failures and in their women. They’ve been searching for the perfect woman to share a life, a love, a family with . . . and they have set their sights on Hartley.
Establishing a relationship is hard—even harder when three people are involved. But feelings cannot be denied and are those feelings strong enough to convince Hartley that the three of them should be together forever.
*fans self* Pardon me while I still recover from the quick hot flashes I’m still suffering from. I love this BDSM series so much. It really shows what a D/s relationship should be. That the gift of submission is one that should be treasured and coveted. That submission isn’t weakness, but incredible strength and faith in the person(people) it’s been granted. I loved Hartley, Jonathan and Cruz together. Personalities, wants, needs, desires were perfectly matched. Watching their relationship grow and develop was amazing and scorching hot between the sheets. None of them lost their independence—or themselves. And it was just beautiful. I can’t get enough of this series. Can’t wait for what’s next. ~ Missy, 4 stars
This was my least favorite of this series so far. The two men, Cruz and Jonathan, are master dominants and part owners of the Blasphemy BDSM club, as well as co-owners of a boat restoration business. Hartley captains a catamaran that sustains damage needing repairs.
Although Jonathan and Cruz call themselves dominants, this book and the dialogue was so sugary sweet that there really was no D/s vibe to it. Also, the two men spent so much time wrestling with their feelings for each other that Hartley sometimes seemed like an afterthought. Most of the action takes place away from the club and was about as vanilla as an mmf threesome can get.
The writing felt rushed and contained more errors than previous books. If you are looking for BDSM, alpha heroes, or more about the club Blasphemy, this is not your book. If you want a quick mmf read with over the top sweetness, then read on.
As two of the twelve Masters at Blasphemy, a BDSM club, Jonathan Allen and Cruz Ramos are no strangers to the more unconventional and erotic sides of foreplay and sex and because of the tight bond that they’ve shared since their Navy days, the fact that one of their kinks is sharing women isn’t surprising.
But while there’s never really been an issue before, Hartley Farren, a ménage virgin, could be a game changer because neither expected to want her as badly as they do nor did it ever cross their minds to create something permanent out of the opportunity they took advantage of when Hartley came to them for help.
The fact that Hartley has never been with two men at once doesn’t deter her from trying it, and once she starts, she doesn’t want to stop because she finds herself consumed by these two men in the most delicious and passionate ways, unwilling to give up all that they give her and hoping that, despite the unique machinations of their relationship, there’s a way to have them both each and every day.
What intrigues me the most about a ménage à trois relationship is just how cohesive the connection is and how they take care of each other’s every need, regardless if it is in the bedroom or outside of it. I’m fascinated with the whole dynamics of the relationship and the implicit trust that those involved seem to have in one another in order for their atypical bond to excel instead of implode.
I really enjoyed Theirs to Take, but I do have to admit that I wanted more backstory about the three main characters. I didn’t feel like I truly understood who Jonathan, Cruz, and Hartley are as individuals because the focus was on who they are to each other and how their threesome works for all of them, not specifically on who they were and what that means for who they are now and what could, if anything, possibly interfere with what they’re building.
Despite my need for a bit more character development, Jonathan, Cruz, and Hartley’s story was an incredibly sensual and sexual read and the fact that readers had the opportunity to check in with past couples is always something we love about series, and it was great to catch up with some of the other Blasphemy couples and see just how far they’ve come and where they’re headed.
Laura Kaye takes us back to the Blasphemy world in Book 3 of the series. This one lets us see what Masters Cruz and Jonathan are up to. We have met them before and get the sense that they are not only best friends but do just about EVERYTHING together.
What I enjoy so much about Laura's writing in this series, is that all the friends know each other because of Blasphemy. That world and their kink is always in the background. But what she brings us is very real romance that takes place away from the club. In this case, Cruz and Jonathan seem to know that Hartley is special. She becomes more than a friend or passing fancy. It isn't that they don'e want her at Blasphemy, they just want her to be there's forever. That takes time, dating and getting to know someone before that can happen.
No worries. Lots of hot and steamy happen in this one. This threesome becomes a true menage. Everyone loving everyone. So happy that they found each other. Loved to see the other couples and all the interactions at the club. Great addition to the series!

I know that not everyone is into reading book with ménage romance let alone BDSM but don't let that put you off of trying this series. Yes, we have BDSM and multiple partners sex, but we also have love and romance.
One of the things I love about Kaye's Blasphemy series is her ability to incorporate both taboo sex and romance. In this series the romance comes first, then the naught sex!!!
Up this time we have Jonathan & Cruz. In prior books you don't really get to know them but you learn enough to know what they are about. I will admit that I was really looking forward to this one. Those boys had me intrigued.
You have to wonder what kind of woman would fall for both men, well we found out with Harley.
Right away I liked her, she seemed so sad and lonely. I wanted her to find happiness. I'm so glad she did. This lucky lady didn't only find love with one man, she found it with two.
With this being a novella size you'd think story would feel light, but it did. In fact I didn't feel like I was missing anything at all. The story felt very complete.
I'm really loving this series and can't wait for more. I urge you to try this wonderful, fun and sexy series!
I have been waiting for Cruz and Jonathan's book and to see their woman bring them together.
Their book didn't disappoint and I think Laura Kaye has another winner on her hands. Hartley was a wonderful compliment to Cruz and Jonathan's characters and I thought they worked together perfectly. I love how they pulled together for Cruz, when his family didn't.
Can't wait to see more from this series and hope that Scarlett and Leo gets their own story.
3.50+ RATING- It's rare these days that I find a series and stick with it but I have with Blasphemy. I find the writing very readable and I overall just enjoy the stories. Theirs to Take was similar to the other books in the series, a little fluffy, but I liked how the dynamic between the characters developed and I was happy that this ended up being a MMF instead of a MFM. I don't really consider this a BDSM book, if anything, it's BDSM ulta-lite. Looking forward to reading more.
I loved THEIRS TO TAKE and really enjoyed that most of the story takes place outside the Blasphemy club and instead involves the characters exploring their relationship in "the real world". One of the things that continues to impress me with this series is how well Kaye weaves together the erotica side of the story with the regular lives of the characters. In terms of my enjoyment, I think that made a big difference because I came to fall in love with the characters for who they were and I could see how they'd formed a true relationship and not just had some fun in the bedroom.
I liked Hartley from the very beginning, she just has a really genuine way about her; she's a hard worker, smart, and she never gives up. She's never been in the BDSM lifestyle but she's very open-minded and knows about her friend's involvement in what turns out to be the same club as Jonathan and Cruz. Hartley was really honest with herself as she considered the possibility of being with two men and once she makes her decision she goes all in. Hartley really becomes the connection that allows Jonathan and Cruz to finally admit their feelings for each other and realize what they truly wanted for the long term.
Both Jonathan and Cruz were great heroes and each one brings something different to the relationship. Jonathan comes from a loving, hippie family, and he's open, charming, and friendly with everyone. On the other side, Cruz is a bit more reserved and intense and he struggles with keeping his bisexuality a secret from his very religious family. It's clear how much Jonathan and Cruz care for each other. Hartley's complete acceptance of both men really helps cement the bond between all three and though they know a relationship will be hard they don't want to be apart.
Just like the rest of the series, THEIRS TO TAKE was off the charts on fire as these three explore each other. With Hartley's inexperience with ménage à trois and D/s relationships they start out a little slow at first but things quickly move along. Jonathan and Cruz might be dominants but they're incredibly caring and sweet with Hartley and she's open to everything their relationship could be.
Note: The ebook edition I got had some bonus content at the end meaning the actual story ended at about 65% in.
Content Warning: Cruz’s family rejects him after he comes out as bisexual

Jonathan and Cruz had done that for her, and in the process, they were working their way into her heart. It was perhaps the craziest, stupidest, riskiest thing she’d ever done to that particular organ, but more and more she resolved to take a leap—and to hope they caught her. Both of them.

“Jonathan’s right. You are ours and we are yours. We choose you, Cruz. Do you hear me? We choose to love you. And we’ll do it over and over again. Every day.”
It’s been a while since I basically drank a book in one sitting and just couldn’t put it down. Laura Kaye seems to always deliver. There’s something in her storytelling that will draw you in and make you adore the characters.
While I know Laura Kaye’s characters always have that specific something that makes the story unique, that gives the plot that special attention from the reader, and in Blasphemy it’s always the new character into the world that’s the focus, here we have Hartley, who’s basically perfect.
Sure, she’s lost her mother as a child, and her father died several years before and now she’s taken over his precious catamaran and built a great charter business from it. But she’s basically perfect. Sweet, kind, beautiful and other than her catamaran damaged in a hurricane (really, Laura? are you Nostradamus or something?) – she’s got no special issues to deal with.
Hartley hires a boat building and restoration company to work on her catamaran, and as the intensive work on the boat goes on, so are Hartley’s feelings for the two men hired for the job. She gets to know them, learns what motivates them and how they are different from each other, and sure enough – she falls in love with them both!
Then we have Jonathan and Cruz, both Blasphemy Masters, best friends, served together, work together as the owners of a boat building and restoration business while also co-owning (along with the others) the BDSM club, Blasphemy. Most importantly, though, is that both shared many sexual partners, they prefer it that way – exclusively dominating together one submissive. They are known in Blasphemy as the Masters who play together, but no one really knows if there’s more going on between the two Masters.
Who’d have thought those two would be the ones to go through the major development arc.
Jonathan is gorgeous, blonde, tall and handsome. He’s kind, sexy and while projects a soft and easy demeanor, has that commanding edge. Cruz is dark, sexy, gorgeous, and a little distant. He’s very watchful and takes a little longer to crack, and while Hartley doesn’t actively or consciously trying to, she does find a way to get him to open up. It’s pretty obvious that Jonathan and Cruz are the ones to help Hartley with the damages to her catamaran, but the interesting thing is that about 85% of the story doesn’t even touch Blasphemy (the club itself). They both want Hartley, and Hartley wants them both. But there are other issues at play here.
Meeting Hartley’s friend, a Blasphemy regular, helps Jonathan and Cruz ease her into that world, learn what submissiveness is and what she is in that equation.
Coming from a religious and very conservative Christian family, Cruz’s life is somewhat a secret, especially where his close family is concerned. They know nothing about his sexual preferences and definitely not that he owns a BDSM club. He’s also always had a thing for Jonathan, but had kept it hidden for several reasons, mainly for fear of his feelings not reciprocated, as well as losing Jonathan as his best friend.
While all three had stuff to work through, it’s clear that both men had to figure out their path to feeling complete, and they did that by getting to love Hartley and be loved and accepted by her. That was what I loved most about the story – how everything clicked, but not too effortlessly.
Theirs to Take is a beautiful, can’t put down, clear your schedule and delve into kind of read that shows that love comes in different constellations. It’s not a hardcore Blasphemy novel, the BDSM is less traditional and graphic, but the emotions run high in this one and I think it’s the best so far in the series.
