It can be difficult to trust someone who says they have a medical condition with no outward signs, but it shouldn’t be. Invisible delves into understanding why people only want to believe what they can see with their own eyes and the impact such quick, incorrect judgment can have on people struggling with invisible conditions.
Way too often people judge others by what they see outwardly, when in reality this may be only a small part of who that person is. I learned that 96% of disabilities are invisible! Why are we so quick to judge others without knowing the whole story? ALL of us either have an invisible disability or know someone who does--whether we realize it or not. Public education and awareness are so important. I love how this book has personal examples not just of the author's invisible disability, but of so many others as well.
This is a must read for everyone with an invisible disability or knows someone who does (which is about 90%+). Well written, quick read packed with information for all of us. Check this one out!
