I always enjoy this series, and this volume was no exception. What saddens me is that the series is said to be ending soon (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/... that mean after Vol.14?!?
-----------------------
It's saddening to read something like this, and feel that the government could actualy be heading this way in the future. Nobody wants to imagine real life being like this.

I want to thank VIZ Media for giving me the chance to read and review this in advance. All opinions expressed here are my own.

I liked seeing Marie again! It had been awhile. That was an adorable storyline. Also get some more cute Dojo and Kasahara moments but not quite as much movement there as I would've liked. Overall this volume has a good storyline with Mr. Toma and the corruption of government and the restriction of freedom of speech. Too much of this is too easy to see in the real world as well.
Good volume, just not the best of them

Things are getting pretty intense with the censorship. I think this volume left me most reflective out of any of the volumes. Was a little bummed there wasn’t as quite as much humor as usual, but given the message, I think that’s probably a good thing. Made me think about what was happening and being discussed.

However, with that said it made me smile to see more Dojo and Iku “moments.” That one particular scene between them was priceless. Also, GO KOMAKI!!!! I really loved his side chapter. Him and Marie are soooo adorable!

So many great things are progressing for the Library Force!

Moly loved the moments between lovers. (Especially Marie!) It makes my heart happy that the author chose to feature a girl with hearing loss as a side character. There aren't enough series, manga or otherwise, that have characters with her real handicaps. (I hate to call them that because really, they aren't 'disabled' but 'differently-abled'.)

The artwork in this volume also sang a new song to me. Not sure why, though.

Re-read 2021: ARGHH nearing the end of the manga! I just don't want it to end! I just love how these volumes mix romance with seriousness and tons of action. We are still with the Toma business and things aren't looking good, there are tons of exciting moments, great plans (including one by Kasahara), Tezuka and his brother talk, and oh my so much more. We are truly building to the climax/the ending and I am sure it will be an exciting one (I cannot remember a lot about it since it has been 6 years). I love the romance and love that we don't just see Kasahara x Dojo, but also Shibazaki x Tezuka AND Marie and Komaki. The last couple even gets such a romantic chapter and I loved it. I hope that Komaki and Marie stay together and get married.
The ending, oh my!
The bonus manga were a fun addition. I laughed a lot.

-----------------------------------------------------

Finally the 13th volume is out! It was a bit confusing (which comes with the time it takes for the manga to be released (now almost a year)), but you can quickly ease back into the story and find out all there is.

The manga is still on the whole Toma vs MBC/MBA, we are slowly getting to a climax though, throughout this manga there are plans being made, things being discussed and in the end a very big plan is being hatched. At times it was a bit boring, I am not really one to care about things like politics and so at times I was just hoping stuff would speed up. I also (probably due to it taking ages to be released) kept mixing up the whole MBA and MBC stuff. After I read it I just went online to find out what the difference was again.

Of course, the book isn't only about politics, troubles and fights, it is also about Dojo and Kasahara getting further in their relationship. Though it does get a bit boring that they still aren't together, yet are flirting so much with each other that it is bordering on too much, especially considering they aren't in a relationship and are still boss and subordinate. I am just hoping they will get together and will finally be a bit romantic.

Kasahara's idea was brilliant, though she didn't knew it would give such a reaction. At times she does have some smart remarks/ideas.

Oh, Oh, I have to give cheers because of the Komaki x Marie part. That part was just so fricking adorable! I was just squealing in delight. Marie is a very lucky girl, and I am sure she and Komaki will be very happy together. :)

The bonus manga were fun, it was a nice added bonus.

I am a bit worried about how the mangaka will finish the story, according to an article on AnimeNewsNetwork, the mangaka is fnished with the manga now, which means we will probably either get one or 2 more volumes. I am worried that they author won't be able to finish it, or will rush it. Both situations would be terribly sad.
Oh well, I guess we will see in a year or maybe longer, depending on how fast the chapters are bundled and how fast Viz will translate them and bring them out.

The art is still fun and I really love looking at the characters, the mangaka does such a good job on them!

All in all, I would still recommend this volume, it was quite interesting (though also boring at times).

As a writer I REALLY felt when Mr. Toma talked about how words in books can be seen wrong even if they aren’t meant that way and then editors bend to that and on and on until we reach censorship—it really hit me as I have read books with “politically correct” things in them that don’t feel natural and make me wonder if the authors were told to put that stuff in rather then allowing the story to be told the way they had originally wanted or how the story should have been told. Not to mention him saying he writes for personal reasons—just yes, yes, YES!

Oh my, things grew really tense and exciting in this volume, but I’m glad we did have a quiet moment with Komaki and Marie before things really heat up. They’re super cute and sweet, but they can’t top Dojo and Iku’s awkward adorableness for me! (sorry not sorry) They are just such a couple of adorable dorks, and I love them so much. 🥰🥰 And the bonus manga about Tezuka FINALLY realizing what is going on with them…*snicker* Took him long enough to figure it out. 😂😏

SUPER excited for the next one!

I love how their relationship builds and teases and yet they still aren't a couple. They both don't realize they like each other back, and they both see that getting intimate would effect their work. Still, I can't wait for when they finally do get together! I wonder how the live action movie or drama will adapt this? Since the manga series is already finished ( I believe also for the light novels) did the movie have time to faithfully adapt whatever romance happened in the end? Or did it skillfully add in something that actually enhanced the story, like how they did with the ending of the first movie?

Either way, I'm still pumped for both. I just wish we got the light novels in English...or, no, I actually WANT the MOVIES licensed and distributed here. I honestly think it would do very well with its blend of action, politics and romance. We can all relate to censorship in the media and how it would effect us if this blew out of proportion in the future. It's important.

Now, I shall read volume 14, and wallow in despair since the last volume, 15, won't come out until next year. :(

Hmmm. I'm surprised that I'm deducting one star from this even though we're in the revolution arc. Seems like I had chosen to ignore quite a few details.

But...nevermind that. Let's move on. But first...

Mandatory Komaki appreciation!

Next we have that one moment that tells us exactly what other's think of Iku (not that they were pretending otherwise hahahaha)

But this is Iku we're talking about and one must never forget to tread carefully.

Nearing the end of the series, things are getting heat between the Library and the MBA. With a new strategy to get the public more concerned about what the word restrictions are doing to their lives, our team faces even greater challenges than before. And on the side we are getting even more relationship building from some of our favorite characters!!!

This was such a good volume. I really appreciate the important messages this series addresses throughout all the novels. Even though one or two volumes can be graphic, I think this series can teach a lot of people about the importance of freedom of speech and the value of words and stories.

IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions--a real organization) even shows up in this volume!

The MBC and courts continue their mission to censor author Toma and the Library Forces continue to hide and protect him, as a shocking new plan begins to develop. As do, of course, lots of romantic relationships and friendships.

Mr. Toma is still under attack by the MBC and the news is doing everything they can to help protect him and fight against censorship. But when things take a bad turn, it’s time to think outside the box.

We also revisit Valentine’s Day for an adorable couple moment. Just kiss already!!

This series has 15 volumes.

More little moments between all the couples and the plot moves along with Mr. Toma's situation. I liked how all the media stations took turns taking the suspensions doled out by the MBC so that they could keep the coverage going. It's always nice when competitors work together.

The Library Task Force is still busy protecting Mr. Toma. Director Eto is responsible for revealing Toma's location and Satoshi revokes his membership for the Future of the Library. Marie and Komaki exchange promise rings. Kasahara comes up with the brilliant plan for Mr. Toma to leave the country.

So . . . So, she comes up with the best idea at the meeting with the entire task force and panic punches Dojo. Then cries that he won't like her. . . .
Honey, you've already drop kicked him in combat training in front of everyone. If he didn't hate you then, he won't hate you now. 🤣

Another volume in the books: the lines are blurred and there is a lot of contention between the Library Defense Forces and MBE over censorship. It looks like the MBE has won the battle but not the war if the Library Defense Force has anything to say or do.
