Some of her most well-known characters are Max & Ruby and Timothy from Timothy Goes To School (both were later adapted into Canadian-animated preschool television series, the former’s airing on Nickelodeon (part of the Nick Jr. block) and the latter’s as part of PBS Kids on PBS).

Max makes a new friend, Amanda Jean. Max's new friend needs a special place to stay, so Max gets her a home. A jar! After all, Amanda Jean is a bug.
After a while she doesn't look so good. Ruby recommends taking Amanda Jean to the vet, just like any other kind of animal who might be a pet!
"The vet squirts bug drops in a spoon. She says, "Your bug will be better soon." Aah!
SUCH A DELIGHTFUL STORYBOOK
I want to quote just a bit more, because Rosemary Wells has such a way with rhymes:
Ruby says, "That bug is such
a silly size.
You cannot even see its eyes.
Bugs make bug juice.
Bug juice stinks!"
But Max doesn't care
what Ruby thinks.
FIVE STARS because this is a book to read over and over again, and discover the sweetest pictures. This is a book to love.
