K. Nilsson’s love of reading began with the Bobbsey twins. When she ran across some Italian True Romance novellas stashed in the attic, the musty serials hooked her on adult fiction. Though black and white photos were dramatic enough to know what the stories were about, she taught herself to read in Italian and translated them to her friends.
She’s an unapologetic reviewer of books, restaurants, and vacation destinations. An amateur photographer, K. loves taking editorial photos and documenting her travels. Her personal philosophy, sleeping is a waste of time.
Gah this was So. Good! I was just expecting a quick dirty little read. This was so much more! The plot was really sound. It had a Very Believable Story. There was Great characterizations and suspense! I couldn't ask for anything more except a HEA.
On that note, I will say typically I. Love. Cliffhangers! They give u that heartbeat that is going 90 miles an hour then the cliffhanger makes your heart stop for a beat or two. This cliffie Literally made me scream "NOOOOOOO" but left me smiling. I have a note for this author... For the cliffhanger on this one...
This book told the story of Carrie's struggle to "cure" herself. It was an insightful read into the mind & struggles of a survivor. There was one particular POV which brought a suspenseful part to the story, & I can't wait to read the conclusion!!!
This is a story about Carrie drazen and how she became so damaged. I truly wish this gave us more to that story instead of teasing us along the way to her journey. This author is new to me but she fits in the drazen universe perfectly
I loved it! I'm going to go read all CD Reiss' books, specifically the one this story references.
Carrie did not act like a victim of abuse on the outside but she was torn up. Somehow, Saint, a private detective who could have been her worst nightmare is assigned to watch over her, but the more he watched her the more he liked her. She has a recurring nightmare but that nightmare is following her. I can't wait to see what happens in the the next book.
I liked two extra characters in this story, Max the go to guy for Saint and Maya, one of the women in her support group.
I'm so happy that Carrie Drazen got her story told. It gave us some really creative insight to her character and how she was dealing with her past and showed her struggles with how she was trying to help herself get past her abuse. I know it dealt with some sensitive subject matter and some readers might shy away, but honestly, Ms. Nilsson dealt with these matters in a very responsible manner. It showed how people are not victims, but they are survivors. This book is well written and the plot kept me in suspense throughout. It has some of the hottest and interesting sex scenes I've read in a long time. Not gonna lie, there is a cliffy, but I cheated and read both books in the same night. You will love the conclusion of the story in the second story, Fall by K Nilsson.
The Drazen family has always left me transfixed, and between CD Reiss' amazing books chronicling Jonathan, Theresa, Fiona, and Margie, I always wondered about the other sisters' lives, as well as the parents. Improper is a fast-paced story of Carrie Drazen's fall from grace, so to speak, and her rescue by someone whose specialty work isn't exactly noble but together they're perfect. I love the cover. It says so many things, and the story does the same. This is a fast-paced story, steamy with undertones of the consequences of one's dark actions.
Improper is a dark story about Carrie's secret. She was molested as a teenager by someone she can't remember or blocked out. These memories alternate with her promiscuity in her present life.
Carrie meets Saint, who's described as a handsome man, as in dark Viking, handsome. He was hired by the Drazen family to watch over Carrie. The book has some of the hottest sex scenes I’ve read in a long time. But the sex has a purpose, one could say “curative” would apply.
There are a couple of great characters I’d like to read spinoff stories of; her psychologist, Dr. Jane, and Max, Saint's assistant. They added balance to the story. Whereas Dr. Jane provided light, Max provided comic relief.
The person that molested Carrie is stalking her. I want book 2 .... like now! Impatiently waiting.
