Family consensus including the toddler is that the recipes in this book are tasty. The recipes are easy to follow. The only thing I changed was adding some more spices to the pie. My family really likes our warming spices.
I must admit that Apple pie is not one of my favorites but this book did a good job in changing my perception by offering such a wide gamut of choices, flavors and combinations. I especially liked the chapter on wild pies on the fringes. The full exposition on types of apples and their use in pies was also instructive. Good read.
